To send money from abroad to someone’s DaviPlata account in Colombia, choose a DaviPlata mobile-wallet payout in Coinepay Global Remittance if it is available for your transfer. You will need the recipient’s full name exactly as registered and the phone number linked to their wallet. Check the payout details, exchange rate and fees in the Coinepay app before you confirm.
What is a DaviPlata wallet transfer?
DaviPlata is a Colombian product offered by Banco Davivienda. The recipient uses it in Colombia, and an international remittance delivered to the wallet is received in Colombian pesos (COP). Depending on the customer’s product, DaviPlata may be a low-value deposit or an ordinary deposit.
For this task, the payout method matters. DaviPlata mobile wallet is different from cash pickup and from a deposit to an ordinary Davivienda bank account. Select the wallet option only when that is where the recipient expects to receive the money. A Colombian phone-number key used for domestic Bre-B transfers is not, by itself, an instruction for an international remittance.
Coinepay supports cross-border transfers with mobile-wallet payouts, subject to availability in the send flow, identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. If DaviPlata is not offered as a payout option for your selected transfer, do not substitute another method without agreeing on it with the recipient. Contact Coinepay support if you need help identifying the available route.
Ask the recipient for these details first
- Full name: Ask for the name exactly as registered with DaviPlata, and check it against the recipient’s identity document. Do not shorten it or replace it with a nickname.
- Wallet-linked phone number: DaviPlata identifies a customer’s account by their registered mobile number. Ask the recipient to confirm the number currently linked to their wallet, including any country-code format requested in the send flow.
- Any additional information requested: Complete the fields shown in Coinepay rather than assuming every provider uses the same requirements. If an address, city or identity detail is requested, enter the recipient’s real, current information.
Have the recipient confirm that their DaviPlata product is active on that phone before you send. A change of mobile number can change the line registered to DaviPlata without changing the balance, so a number used for an earlier transfer may no longer be the right one. Ask the recipient to check the current number in their DaviPlata account rather than relying on an old message or contact entry.
If this will be the recipient’s first international remittance to DaviPlata, ask them to check Davivienda’s current first-receipt instructions before you pay. Davivienda’s published guidance says a first-time recipient must visit a branch, complete a declaración de cambio (exchange declaration) and provide an enlarged copy of an identity document; it says this requirement also applies to DaviPlata credits. The recipient should confirm what documentation applies to them directly with Davivienda.
How to send to DaviPlata with Coinepay
- Open Coinepay Global Remittance. Sign in through the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard. If you are new, register for Coinepay and complete the identity checks requested for your transfer.
- Choose Colombia as the destination. Enter the amount you want to send or the amount the recipient should receive, according to the options shown. Check the receiving currency displayed in the app.
- Select DaviPlata mobile wallet. Choose the DaviPlata payout option if it appears for this transfer. Do not choose cash pickup or a Davivienda bank deposit merely because the names look familiar.
- Enter the recipient’s details. Copy their full registered name carefully and enter the phone number or wallet identifier in the format the app requests. Complete any other required fields with accurate information.
- Review the transfer. Check the destination, payout method, recipient name and number, and receiving amount. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm. Also review the estimated arrival time displayed for this transfer.
- Confirm and track it. Confirm only when the details are correct, then follow the transfer status in Coinepay. Keep the transfer reference available in case either you or the recipient needs help.
Use your real identity and provide any information Coinepay requests during review. Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may request documents about the purpose of a payment or the source of funds; respond through the requested channel rather than starting another transfer to work around a review.
How the recipient sees the money arrive
When the payout is credited, the recipient should see a COP credit in their DaviPlata balance or account movements. They can compare the entry with the transfer information you share. An active DaviPlata product on the recipient’s registered phone is required for automatic credit; submitting a transfer does not mean the wallet has already received it.
Ask the recipient to check their DaviPlata account directly, not only their text messages. If they cannot sign in after a SIM change, DaviPlata notes that SMS delivery may be affected temporarily. They can use DaviPlata’s ¿Necesita ayuda? in-app help channel for an account-access or wallet-credit question.
After the credit appears, the recipient can use funds according to the options available in their DaviPlata account. For a withdrawal, the DaviPlata app includes Más → Sacar plata; the recipient should follow the instructions shown there and confirm the withdrawal method available to them. Withdrawal is a separate action from receiving the international transfer.
Check the wallet’s status and receiving capacity
DaviPlata products have account conditions that can affect whether an incoming payment can be credited. Its low-value and ordinary deposit products may have different requirements, while wallet and remittance rules can restrict how much the account can receive or hold over a given period. Do not assume that a wallet can accept a transfer simply because its phone number is correct.
Before sending, the recipient should check that their account is active, any required identity or first-remittance steps are complete, and they have capacity to receive the intended amount. They can consult DaviPlata’s current tariffs and limits or ask DaviPlata for guidance on their specific product. Separately, check the transfer conditions presented in Coinepay. If either service requires verification, complete it with genuine documents before trying to proceed.
What to do if the DaviPlata credit is missing
Wrong phone number or name mismatch
Compare the submitted number with the one currently linked to the recipient’s DaviPlata account. Then compare the submitted full name with the registered name and identity document, including spelling and name order. An incorrect number or mismatched name can delay review or prevent delivery. If you have already confirmed, do not assume you can edit the payment yourself: check its status and contact Coinepay support with the transfer reference to ask what corrections are possible.
Wallet limit reached or account not ready
Ask the recipient to check whether their wallet can accept the payment and whether their account is active. If this is their first international receipt, they should also confirm whether Davivienda needs the exchange declaration and identity documentation before crediting it. The recipient can raise a wallet-side enquiry through DaviPlata’s ¿Necesita ayuda? channel. Share the transfer reference when requested, but do not send sensitive identity documents to an unverified contact.
Transfer under compliance review
Check the status in Coinepay and respond to any request for information about the sender, recipient, source of funds or payment purpose. Screening and local requirements can affect a transfer even when the wallet details are correct. If Coinepay shows the transfer as sent but DaviPlata shows no credit, ask Coinepay support to investigate using the reference; the recipient can separately ask DaviPlata to check the wallet. Avoid submitting a duplicate payment while the original remains unresolved.

Select Colombia as the destination and check that the DaviPlata mobile-wallet payout shows Colombian pesos (COP) as the receiving currency.
Is the recipient’s phone number their DaviPlata account number?
DaviPlata says the customer’s registered mobile number is their DaviPlata number. Confirm the current wallet-linked number and enter it in the format Coinepay requests.

A Davivienda bank-account deposit is a different payout method. Choose DaviPlata mobile wallet if the recipient wants the money credited to that wallet.
Why has a first-time DaviPlata recipient not received the money?

What should I do if I entered the wrong DaviPlata number?
Check the Coinepay transfer status and contact Coinepay support promptly with the transfer reference. Ask what correction or recovery options are available; do not send a duplicate while the first transfer is unresolved.
