To send money from abroad to someone who uses Raast in Pakistan, first check whether Raast is offered as a payout method for your transfer in Coinepay. You will need the recipient’s full name exactly as registered with their receiving provider and the destination details requested in the app. Before confirming, make sure a phone-number payment points to the account or wallet your recipient intends to use.
What is Raast, and where is it used?
Raast is Pakistan’s instant-payment system. It handles domestic payments in Pakistani rupees (PKR), including person-to-person payments to participating bank accounts and mobile wallets or branchless-banking accounts. Sending money to a person through Raast is not a mobile-airtime top-up or a merchant payment.
A transfer initiated abroad is a cross-border remittance, not a direct international Raast payment. If Coinepay presents Raast as a payout option for your destination and recipient details, follow the route shown in the app. Availability can depend on the sending route and the receiving provider. Do not assume that an option labelled simply as a mobile-wallet payment uses Raast: providers may offer wallet-by-phone and Raast as separate routes.
What details should you ask the recipient for?
Ask the recipient to check their wallet or account provider’s app and send you:
- Their full registered name: use the name on the receiving account or wallet, not a nickname or an abbreviated name.
- Their registered Raast ID, if paying by phone number: this is a mobile number that the recipient has linked to an account or wallet for Raast payments. Ask them to confirm which account currently receives payments to that ID.
- Their IBAN, if that is the available destination identifier: request the actual IBAN displayed by their provider. A Pakistani IBAN has 24 characters; do not try to construct one from a phone number.
- The receiving provider’s name, if the app requests it: confirm that the provider and account shown during entry match what the recipient expects.
A mobile number is not, by itself, proof that it is registered as a Raast ID. One Raast ID can be linked to only one receiving account at a time. If the recipient recently changed wallets, they should check whether they have de-linked and re-linked their ID through the relevant provider. If they have not registered a Raast ID, ask whether their provider offers an IBAN you can use instead. Enter the number in the format requested by the Coinepay app; do not guess a universal Raast number format.
How to send to a Raast destination with Coinepay
- Open Coinepay and start a transfer. Sign in through the Coinepay dashboard or the mobile app. If you are new, register and complete the identity verification requested for the service.
- Choose Pakistan as the destination. Enter the transfer amount and provide the sender and recipient information requested in the app. Check the receiving currency displayed for the destination.
- Check the payout choices. Select Raast if it appears as a supported payout method for this transfer. If it does not appear, do not label another wallet route as Raast; review the available bank-deposit, mobile-wallet or cash-pickup choices instead, or contact Coinepay support.
- Enter the recipient details. Use the registered Raast ID or IBAN requested for the selected route and the recipient’s full name exactly as registered. If the app displays an account holder or receiving account for confirmation, compare it with the details the recipient gave you.
- Review before confirming. Check the destination, payout method, recipient identifier, name and amount. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm. Review the estimated arrival time displayed in the app as well. If anything is wrong, go back and correct it rather than confirming.
- Confirm and track. Complete any required confirmation steps and keep the transfer reference. You can follow the transfer’s status in Coinepay. A submitted transfer is not the same as money already credited to the recipient.
Successful Raast payments are final and irrevocable. That makes the recipient check particularly important: a valid phone number linked to the wrong account could direct a payment somewhere you did not intend. Coinepay transfers can arrive in as little as 10 minutes, but the actual delivery time depends on the payout method and destination country; use the estimate and status shown for your transfer rather than assuming a fixed arrival time.
How does the recipient see the money arrive?
Ask the recipient to check the balance and incoming-transaction history in the app for the wallet or account linked to their Raast ID, or for the account associated with the IBAN supplied. Their provider may also send a notification, depending on its settings. The recipient should look for the credit in the linked account, not necessarily in whichever wallet app they use most often.
If Coinepay shows the transfer as delivered but the recipient cannot find it, ask them to check the account currently linked to their Raast ID and the transaction history for the receiving account. They can contact their provider with the transaction details. You can also give Coinepay support the transfer reference so the payment can be investigated through the sending route.
Wallet limits, verification and transfer checks
Receiving providers may apply limits based on the account type, their risk rules and the recipient’s verification status. The recipient should check their provider’s app or support channel for the available receiving capacity and any steps needed to verify or upgrade their account. There is no single wallet limit that applies to every Raast recipient, so do not assume that a payment can be received just because the Raast ID is registered.
Coinepay transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may request documents relating to the purpose of a transfer or the source of funds. Provide accurate information and respond through the requested channel; do not use someone else’s account or break a transfer into smaller payments to try to avoid a review.
Troubleshooting a Raast payout
The phone number is wrong or points to another account
Stop before confirming and ask the recipient to verify the registered Raast ID and the account linked to it in their provider’s app. If the transfer has already been submitted, contact Coinepay support promptly with the reference and the details entered. Do not assume a completed payment can be reversed.
The recipient’s name does not match
Compare the name you entered with the full name held by the receiving provider, then correct any spelling or order errors before resubmitting. If the app requests additional identifying details, obtain them directly from the recipient. Do not change the name to someone else’s to force a match.
The wallet limit has been reached
Ask the recipient to check their provider’s available limit and account status. If that provider cannot receive the payment, review the other payout methods actually offered in Coinepay. Do not split a transfer to get around a provider limit or a required check.
The wallet is unverified or cannot receive Raast
The recipient should check whether their Raast ID is registered with the intended wallet, whether their account can receive payments and whether their provider requires further verification. If an IBAN is available, check whether the app offers that destination route. A regular wallet-by-phone option should not be treated as Raast unless it is identified as such.
The transfer is pending a compliance review
Follow the status in Coinepay and respond to any request for identity, purpose-of-payment or source-of-funds documents. If the status is unclear or a payment is rejected, contact support with the transfer reference rather than submitting repeated payments to the same destination.

FAQ
Is a Pakistani mobile number enough to receive a Raast payment?
No. The recipient must have registered the number as a Raast ID and linked it to the account or wallet where they want to receive the payment.
Can I send to a Raast recipient using an IBAN instead?
An IBAN is a Raast person-to-person destination identifier. Ask for the recipient’s actual IBAN and check whether Coinepay offers an applicable payout route for it.
What if Raast is not listed as a payout method?
Do not assume another mobile-wallet option uses Raast. Check the other payout methods shown in Coinepay or contact support.
Where should the recipient look for the payment?
They should check the incoming transactions and balance of the account linked to their Raast ID, or the account associated with the IBAN they provided.
What should I do if the recipient says the money has not arrived?
Check the transfer status in Coinepay, ask the recipient to verify the linked receiving account, and contact Coinepay support with the transfer reference if the credit is still missing.
