Facebook Marketplace does not have a subscription to buy. You can use a Facebook account to browse listings, then pay according to the purchase route the listing offers. If an eligible shipped listing provides checkout on Marketplace, you may be able to enter a Coinepay virtual card there. Local purchases are arranged with the seller, while some partner listings send you to another website to pay. This guide helps you identify the right route and troubleshoot a card payment without assuming every listing accepts cards.
Before you start: identify how the listing is paid for
Marketplace is a buying-and-selling service, not a paid plan. You do not need to subscribe to Marketplace or choose a Marketplace tier to make a purchase. The Facebook Verified badge that may appear on Marketplace is not a paid Marketplace tier, either.
| Listing route | Where payment happens | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Eligible shipped listing with Marketplace checkout | At the checkout offered on the listing | Review the item, shipping, tax and displayed total before placing the order. |
| Local pickup arranged through messages | As agreed directly with the seller | Ask which payment methods the seller accepts; a card checkout may not be available. |
| Partner listing | On the partner’s website after leaving Marketplace | Read that site’s payment, delivery and return terms before paying. |
Do not assume that access to Marketplace also means shipped checkout is available in your location. Listing options and payment methods can differ by location and transaction. Meta Pay documents cards and PayPal as payment methods generally, but the options shown at a particular checkout determine what you can actually use there. Card acceptance is not guaranteed for a specific listing.
What you need for a Coinepay card payment
- A Facebook account: Sign in or create an account using your real details, then open Marketplace to browse listings and contact sellers.
- An eligible payment route: Choose a listing that offers a card-payment checkout if you intend to use your virtual card. For a local sale, confirm payment arrangements with the seller before meeting.
- A ready Coinepay virtual card: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Coinepay provides a virtual card number, expiry date and CVV, which you can view in its app or self-service dashboard.
- Enough available funds and accurate details: Check the total displayed at checkout, including shipping and tax where applicable. Enter your real name and billing information accurately; do not substitute an invented address or identity.
If you have not yet set up Coinepay, you can manage your account through the dashboard or the Coinepay app for iOS and Android. Check the app for the card and funding details relevant to your account. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction.
How to pay for an eligible shipped Marketplace listing
- Open Marketplace and inspect the listing. Sign in to Facebook, find the item and read its description, condition, delivery information and seller details. Check that the listing offers checkout on Marketplace rather than only a way to message the seller or visit a partner site.
- Start the checkout shown on the listing. Follow the purchase option Facebook displays. If the listing does not offer shipped checkout, do not look for a separate Marketplace subscription or billing page; use the route actually offered for that item.
- Check the order details. Confirm the item and delivery address. For a shipped order, review the shipping and tax included in the total before you commit to buy. Make sure the delivery information reflects where you can legitimately receive the item.
- Choose a card option if one is offered. Enter the Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV as requested. Use your real billing details and check them for typing errors. If Facebook offers a saved payment method through Meta Pay, review which card is selected before continuing.
- Complete any security step presented. Follow the instructions shown by the checkout or card verification flow. Do not approve a request you do not recognize. If the requested authentication cannot be completed, stop and ask Coinepay support what applies to your card.
- Review and submit. Recheck the displayed total and the payment method, then place the order only when the details are correct. Save the order confirmation and keep related messages in case you need to discuss a problem with the seller or the relevant checkout provider.
Meta Pay payment methods and transaction history are managed in Accounts Center. Meta also calls its payment-control area Meta Pay settings; it refers to Orders and Payments settings for its payment PIN. These are payment settings, not a Marketplace subscription-billing page. Menu labels may vary by device, so use the settings shown in your Facebook account if you need to inspect a saved card or payment record.
What changes for local pickup or partner-site checkout?
Local pickup
For a local transaction, message the seller and agree on the item, handover and payment method. There may be no card-entry screen on Marketplace. If the seller proposes a way to take a card payment, assess that payment request before proceeding; never send your card number, expiry date or CVV in a Marketplace message. Inspect the item and clarify the terms of the exchange as appropriate to the transaction. A direct arrangement with a seller is not the same payment route as an eligible shipped order checked out on Marketplace.
Partner-site purchase
Some partner inventory takes you from Marketplace to the partner’s website for payment. In that case, the partner’s checkout controls the available payment methods, billing fields and order terms. Confirm the site and final total before entering card details. If the partner declines the card, its support team can explain its checkout requirements; a payment method visible in Meta Pay does not establish acceptance on the partner’s site.
If your card is declined or checkout will not continue
A failed payment does not identify its cause by itself. Start with the message displayed by the checkout, then work through these checks rather than repeatedly submitting the same details:
- Insufficient available funds: Compare the card’s available funds in Coinepay with the full checkout total, not just the item price. A shipped order may include shipping and tax. Check the app for funding information before trying again.
- Billing details do not match: Re-enter the card number, expiry date and CVV carefully. Check that the billing name and address you provide are your real details and match the information associated with your payment setup where required. Do not use a fabricated address to make a checkout pass.
- 3-D Secure or another authentication step: If a verification request appears, follow the legitimate on-screen instructions and check the Coinepay app for any relevant prompt. Do not assume that every checkout uses the same authentication process. If you cannot complete the step, contact Coinepay support with the error text and the time of the attempt; never send your full card number or CVV in a support message.
- Merchant or regional checks: Confirm that the listing offers checkout in your location and that your delivery and billing details are valid. Marketplace access, Meta Pay availability and shipped-checkout availability are separate questions. A partner website may apply its own payment requirements. Do not use a VPN, false address or another person’s identity to work around a restriction.
- Account or listing issue: If Facebook indicates a restriction or the purchase option disappears, check the notice in your account and seek help through Facebook’s own support flow. Changing cards may not resolve a problem unrelated to the card.
If the screen specifies a card-type or issuing-country requirement, do not assume your Coinepay card qualifies. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before you buy. For an unresolved checkout error, keep a screenshot of the message with sensitive details hidden and ask the service running that checkout for help: Facebook for Marketplace checkout, or the partner for a partner-site purchase.
After payment: orders, refunds and ongoing charges
Look for the confirmation and order details associated with the route you used. Accounts Center can help you review Meta Pay transaction history, but a partner-site purchase should also be checked with the partner, and a local arrangement should be discussed with the seller. If you need to cancel an order or request a refund, read the terms shown for that specific transaction and contact the seller or checkout provider responsible for it. Do not assume one cancellation or refund rule covers local handovers, shipped Marketplace orders and partner-site orders.
There is no Marketplace subscription to cancel and no recurring Marketplace plan payment to manage. If a charge is unfamiliar, first check the transaction record and the seller or partner name, then raise the concern through the relevant payment and account-support channels. No. Some eligible listings offer Marketplace checkout, local sellers arrange payment directly, and partner listings use the partner’s website. Check the options shown for the listing.
Where can I check a saved card or Meta Pay transaction?
Meta Pay payment methods and transaction history are managed in Facebook’s Accounts Center. These settings are not a Marketplace subscription page.
What should I do if a Marketplace card payment is declined?
Check available funds against the full total, recheck your real billing details and complete any legitimate authentication prompt. If the error persists, contact the checkout provider and Coinepay support as appropriate.
