Zara is an online fashion store rather than a subscription service, so paying with a card means checking out an order of clothing or accessories. This guide shows how to set up a Coinepay virtual card, add it at Zara checkout, and work through the most common reasons a card is declined. Prices and payment options differ by market, so always confirm the details Zara shows you at checkout and on its official help pages.
What you need before you start
To pay for a Zara order with a Coinepay virtual card, make sure you have:
- A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. You can register with Coinepay and finish verification in the app before you shop.
- An active virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV, which Coinepay issues instantly inside the dashboard or the iOS app or Android app.
- Enough available balance on the card to cover the merchandise total plus any delivery charge Zara shows.
- Your real billing name and address. Zara requires the billing and shipping addresses to be in the same purchase market, so shop on the Zara site for the country where your details belong.
Coinepay does not publish which merchants will accept any given card. If you are unsure whether your card will work for a Zara order, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the checkout requirements before you buy.
Step 1: Create a Zara account or choose guest checkout
An account is optional at Zara. On the Zara website or app you can select Register to create one and enter the verification code Zara emails you, or you can buy as a guest by entering the required personal, address and payment details during checkout. Registering makes it easier to track orders and manage returns later, but either path lets you pay with a card.
Step 2: Add items to your bag and choose delivery
Browse Zara, add the items you want to your bag, then proceed to checkout. Choose a delivery method; Zara shows the charge for each option before you pay. At the time of writing (October 2026), published delivery options included, for example:
| Market | Example delivery options |
|---|---|
| US | Free store pickup; 2–4 working-day home or delivery-point at $4.95; next-day home at $19.95 ($25.00 for Alaska and Hawaii) |
| UK | Free store pickup; 2–3 working-day home or drop-point at £2.95; guaranteed next-day home at £4.95 |
| Spain | Free store pickup; 2–3 working-day home or drop-point at €3.95; free delivery on qualifying orders over €30 of non-discounted items under the stated conditions |
These figures can change, so treat the amount Zara shows at checkout as the authority and check the official Delivery Methods page for your market. There is no Zara membership price to pay; merchandise cost depends on the items in your order.
Step 3: Choose card payment and enter your Coinepay card
At the payment step, Zara displays only the payment options available for that particular order. The methods listed vary by region. For example, Zara's US payment-method page lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Gift Card, Apple Pay, Afterpay and an option labelled "Pay in 4 installments." The UK page lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Gift Card, Apple Pay and "Pay in 3 installments." Spain additionally lists Google Pay, Bizum and Affinity Card. Select the card option, then enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date, CVV and your billing details exactly as they appear in the Coinepay app.
Step 4: Complete any security check and confirm
Depending on your market and bank, card checkout may require an extra authentication step. In Spain, for instance, Zara notes that card checkout may require bank-app or one-time-code authentication. If you are prompted, approve the payment in the Coinepay app or enter the one-time code so the order can go through. Once payment is accepted, Zara emails an order confirmation.
When your card is charged
Zara states that US orders are charged when they ship, except PayPal and Gift Card purchases, which are charged on completion. A bank pre-authorization may temporarily appear alongside the eventual charge, so you may briefly see two entries for one order. Make sure your Coinepay card keeps enough balance to cover the charge when the order ships, not just at the moment you place it.
Troubleshooting: common card-declined causes
Insufficient balance
If your Coinepay card balance is lower than the merchandise total plus delivery, the payment can fail. Because Zara may place a pre-authorization and later charge on shipment, keep a buffer on the card. Top up in the Coinepay app, then retry.
Billing address mismatch
Card payments are checked against the billing details on file. Enter the name and billing address exactly as they appear in your Coinepay profile. Zara also requires the shipping and billing addresses to be in the same purchase market, so an address in a different country from the Zara store you are using can cause a decline or an address restriction at checkout.
3-D Secure / extra authentication
If a security prompt appears and is not completed, the payment will not finish. Watch for a one-time code or an approval request in the Coinepay app and complete it promptly before it expires, then try again.
Merchant region and delivery restrictions
Some addresses carry delivery restrictions that appear at checkout. For example, in the US, perfume cannot be shipped to Alaska, and large items cannot be sent to a store or delivery point. A restricted item or address can stop an order even when the card is fine. Choose a supported delivery method or a different address.
Payment not completed correctly
Zara documents that an incorrectly completed payment can prevent the confirmation email, and says it will email a link to retry. Some shoppers have also quoted the message "We cannot complete your purchase due to an error transmitting payment information" after orders were cancelled, though the cause of any individual cancellation is not confirmed. If you see an error or no confirmation arrives, use Zara's retry link, re-check your card details, or try the order again.
Still declined?
If the payment keeps failing after you have checked balance, billing details and any security prompt, confirm the status of your card in the Coinepay dashboard and reach out to Coinepay support or the Coinepay Telegram. You can also contact Zara's customer service to confirm the order status on their side.
Returns and refunds
Zara refunds online purchases to the original payment method, so a refund on a Coinepay-paid order returns to that virtual card. For US online purchases, you have 30 days from shipment to return, items must keep their original condition and labels, and returns must be made in the purchase market. Zara says shipped returns are processed within 72 hours of arriving at its facilities and the refund may take up to 14 days after the return is completed, depending on the bank. Keep the Coinepay card active so the refund can land.
Manage your card and payment details
At Zara, saved payment details can be viewed and edited in the Payment method section of your account, and your personal and saved payment information live under Profile. On the Coinepay side, you manage balance, card status and transaction history from the 24/7 dashboard or mobile app. Keeping both in sync — correct card on file at Zara, enough balance in Coinepay — is the simplest way to avoid a declined checkout. You can learn more about Coinepay virtual cards on the Coinepay home page.

FAQ
Does Zara accept Coinepay virtual cards?
Zara displays the payment options available for each order, and these vary by market. Enter your Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV at checkout. Coinepay does not publish which merchants accept a given card, so if you are unsure, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the checkout requirements before you buy.
When does Zara charge my card?
Zara says US orders are charged when they ship, except PayPal and Gift Card purchases, which are charged on completion. A pre-authorization may temporarily appear alongside the final charge, so keep enough balance on your Coinepay card until the order ships.
Why was my Zara payment declined?
Common causes include insufficient card balance, a billing address that does not match your Coinepay profile or sits in a different market from the Zara store, an unfinished security or one-time-code check, or a delivery restriction on the item or address. Fix the cause and retry, or use the link Zara emails to retry payment.
Will my Zara refund go back to my Coinepay card?
Yes. Zara refunds online purchases to the original payment method. For US online orders, returns are within 30 days of shipment, processed within 72 hours of arrival, and the refund may take up to 14 days depending on the bank. Keep your Coinepay card active to receive it.
Do I need a Zara account to pay with a card?
No. An account is optional. You can select Register and enter the verification code Zara emails, or check out as a guest by entering your personal, address and payment details. Either way you can pay with your Coinepay virtual card.
