Vivid Seats is a ticket marketplace where resellers list seats for concerts, sports and live events, so there is no fixed subscription price — each listing is set by the seller and the total is shown at checkout. If you want to pay with a Coinepay virtual card instead of a physical card, this guide walks through what you need, how to buy, and how to troubleshoot a declined payment.

Before you start

A few things make checkout smoother:

  • A verified Coinepay account. You must register and complete identity verification (KYC) before you can use card services. You can sign up at Coinepay and manage everything from the dashboard or the mobile app (iOS / Google Play).
  • An issued virtual card. Coinepay issues virtual cards with an instant card number, expiry date and CVV, which is what you enter at Vivid Seats checkout.
  • Enough available balance. Placing an order reserves funds on your card before the seller confirms, so make sure the card can cover the full order total.
  • Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address tied to your Coinepay card. Mismatched details are a common cause of cancelled orders.

Vivid Seats lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit/debit cards, along with Google Wallet, Apple Pay, PayPal, PayPal Credit, PayPal Pay Later, Klarna and Android Pay. Whether any individual card is accepted depends on the card and the merchant's checks, so if you are unsure, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you buy.

Set up your Vivid Seats account

  1. Download the Vivid Seats app or open the Vivid Seats website and create or sign into your account using your real identity.
  2. Vivid Seats Rewards is free to join. In the app, tap "Join Now" to opt in. New and certain older customers have to opt in through the app before they can start earning stamps — automatic enrollment ended for new app purchasers in January 2024.
  3. Note that Reward Credit (earned after ten eligible ticket stamps) can only be applied at app checkout; web and phone checkouts do not offer Reward Credit as a payment option.

The Rewards tiers — Fan, Rising Star, Super Fan, Icon and Legend — are based on qualifying spend, not tier prices, so joining Rewards does not add a cost to your order.

Add your Coinepay virtual card

You can enter card details directly during checkout, or save them in advance. To manage saved cards, sign in and open Profile → Saved Payment Methods, where you can update or remove cards and addresses. When you add the card:

  • Enter the card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as shown in your Coinepay app.
  • Enter the billing address that matches your Coinepay profile.
  • Double-check for typos — a single wrong digit can cause the order to fail matching.

Buy tickets step by step

  1. Search for your event and select a listing. Prices fluctuate and are set by resellers; the per-ticket price shown includes fees before applicable tax.
  2. Choose "Buy", then "Continue to Checkout."
  3. Review the tickets and the order total carefully. Ticket sales are final — Vivid Seats does not offer buyer's-remorse refunds — so confirm the event, date and seats before paying.
  4. Enter your contact details and your Coinepay virtual card details. Remember that orders cannot be split across multiple payment methods, so one card must cover the whole total.
  5. Submit the order. It goes to the seller for confirmation, and your payment method is charged upon confirmation. Until then, the funds are reserved on your card.
Transactions through Vivid Seats LLC are processed in USD; transactions through Vivid Seats Canada Ltd. are processed in CAD when the buyer is believed to be in Canada and is buying tickets for a Canadian event. Check the processing currency so you are not surprised by any conversion on your card.

Troubleshooting a declined or cancelled payment

If your card is declined or the order is cancelled, work through these common causes:

Insufficient balance

Because the order reserves card funds before the seller confirms, the available balance has to cover the full total, including fees and any tax. Top up your Coinepay card and try again if the balance is short.

Billing address or name mismatch

Vivid Seats has cancelled orders when checkout information could not be matched to the cardholder's details — sometimes simply because of a typo. Make sure the name and billing address at checkout exactly match what is on file for your Coinepay card, and retype the card number and CVV carefully.

3-D Secure or extra verification

Some card transactions trigger an additional security step. If a verification prompt appears, complete it in your Coinepay app. If you don't see a prompt but the payment still fails, check your Coinepay app for any security or confirmation notifications.

Merchant region checks

Vivid Seats operates mainly in the U.S. and Canada, and checkout availability by country is not fully published. If the payment is blocked, it may relate to the event's region or the card's acceptance rather than a problem with your balance. Use your real location and billing details — never try to work around a merchant's regional checks — and contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card is suitable.

Card type not accepted

If the card type isn't supported for your order, the payment won't go through. Rather than guess, ask Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Vivid Seats' requirements before you buy, or use one of the other accepted methods.

After you buy

Keep an eye on your email and account for seller confirmation. If an event is cancelled with no rescheduled date, the terms provide for a refund of the purchase price (including delivery charges, subject to possible restocking fees) or future-purchase credit at Vivid Seats' discretion, and may require you to return the original tickets within two weeks of the cancellation notice. Postponed or rescheduled events generally don't qualify for compensation if the original tickets stay valid, except where law requires — the terms note additional full-refund circumstances for events in Ontario and British Columbia. Any refund is returned to the original payment method, so keep your Coinepay card active.

Managing the card in Coinepay

You can view your card number, expiry and CVV, check your balance and transactions, and manage security from the Coinepay dashboard or app at any time, 24/7. Businesses buying tickets for events or clients can issue dedicated virtual cards and set custom spending limits per card to keep spending organised. For pricing and policy specifics, always check the official Vivid Seats pages, as prices and terms vary by region and listing.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card on Vivid Seats?

Vivid Seats accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit/debit cards. You enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry and CVV at checkout. Whether a specific card is accepted depends on the card and the merchant's checks, so confirm with Coinepay support if you are unsure.

Why was my Vivid Seats order declined or cancelled?

Common causes are insufficient available balance, a billing name or address that doesn't match your card, a failed 3-D Secure step, or merchant region checks. Vivid Seats has cancelled orders when checkout details couldn't be matched to the cardholder, sometimes from a typo, so re-check every field.

When is my card actually charged?

Placing an order reserves funds on your card before the seller confirms. The payment method is charged once the seller confirms the order. Make sure your Coinepay card has enough balance to cover the full total while it is held.

Can I split a Vivid Seats order across two cards?

No. Vivid Seats does not allow an order to be split across multiple payment methods, so a single Coinepay card must cover the entire order total, including fees and any applicable tax.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

Ticket sales are final and Vivid Seats does not offer buyer's-remorse refunds. You may be able to list the tickets for resale, though eligibility isn't guaranteed. If an event is cancelled with no new date, the terms provide for a refund or credit at Vivid Seats' discretion.
