Shop Pay is a checkout option offered by some online stores. You do not need a Shop Pay subscription to make a purchase: you pay the store for the items in your order. If a store offers Shop Pay, you can try entering your Coinepay virtual card during checkout. The store and its payment providers decide whether to accept a payment, so check the final order details before you submit it.
What you need before checkout
- A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register and complete identity verification before using Coinepay card services. Once a card is issued, you can find its card number, expiry date and CVV in the Coinepay app or 24/7 self-service dashboard.
- Enough available funds. Check the amount available for the full order, including shipping and taxes shown at checkout. If a currency conversion or a separate merchant charge affects the final amount, review what is shown before paying.
- Your real contact and billing details. Have access to the email address or phone number you use for checkout. Enter your actual billing address and a valid delivery address where the store can ship your order.
- An eligible store checkout. Shop Pay must appear as a payment option at that store. The store may also have its own shipping destinations, payment rules and order-review checks.
If you have not set up Coinepay, register for a Coinepay account and complete the identity-verification steps shown there. Check the app for information about your available card services and any applicable limits before placing an order. Some services are not available in every jurisdiction.
How to pay at a Shop Pay checkout
- Build your order on the store’s site. Add the items you want to your cart and review the quantity, shipping destination and store policies. Shop Pay is a checkout method, not the seller of the items.
- Choose Shop Pay if the store offers it. Look for the Shop Pay option or button on the product page, cart or checkout. Its placement varies by store. If you do not see it, you cannot assume that store offers Shop Pay for your order.
- Enter your contact details and follow any verification prompt. Shop Pay may ask you to confirm your email address or phone number with a code. Use your own details and enter the code only in the checkout flow you opened.
- Enter your delivery and billing information. Provide an address the store can deliver to, and enter your real billing details accurately. Check spelling, postal code and country before continuing.
- Add your Coinepay virtual card if a card-entry option is available. Open the Coinepay app or dashboard, copy the card number, expiry date and CVV, and enter them in the appropriate fields. If Shop Pay shows a previously saved payment method, select the option to add or change a card rather than assuming the saved card is your Coinepay card.
- Review the final checkout screen. Confirm the items, total, shipping cost, delivery address, billing information and selected card. If the order involves a subscription sold by the store, read that store’s renewal and cancellation terms before paying.
- Submit the order and check the result. Complete any authentication requested during payment. Wait for an order confirmation from the store, and check your Coinepay activity for the corresponding card transaction. A payment attempt or temporary authorization alone does not establish that the store accepted the order.
Checkout screens can differ between stores and may change over time. Follow the labels shown on the store’s current checkout rather than looking for an exact button sequence. If you are using a saved Shop Pay profile, review its saved addresses and payment details before you confirm the purchase.
Saving the card and managing later purchases
Shop Pay may offer to save payment and address information to make future checkouts faster. Treat this as optional: read the prompt before agreeing, and do not save your card on a device or account you do not control. A faster checkout still requires you to review the merchant, order total and delivery details each time.
To change a payment method used at a future Shop Pay checkout, look for the payment-method selection or edit option presented during checkout. If you need to change details already saved to your Shop Pay account, use the account-management options available through Shop Pay or the Shop app. If you cannot find the relevant setting, consult Shop Pay’s own help information; Coinepay manages your virtual card, not Shop Pay’s saved checkout profile.
For a refund, cancellation, missing item or delivery question, contact the store that sold you the product. Its policies govern the order. Keep your order confirmation and any correspondence so you can identify the purchase when contacting the store or, for a card-transaction question, Coinepay support.
If your Coinepay card is declined
A decline does not identify its cause by itself. Read the message on the checkout screen, check your Coinepay transaction activity if an attempt appears, and work through the possibilities below. Avoid repeated attempts without changing or checking anything, particularly if the store is still processing an earlier order.
Insufficient available balance
Compare the available amount in Coinepay with the final checkout total, not just the item price. Shipping, tax and other charges displayed by the store may increase what is due. If the balance is too low, add funds using an option available in your Coinepay account, or use another payment method you are authorized to use. Check the Coinepay app for any applicable card limits; do not assume that an apparent balance guarantees approval.
Billing address or card details do not match
Recheck every digit of the card number, the expiry date and the CVV against the current card details in Coinepay. Correct typographical errors in your name, billing address or postal code, and use your real details. If a saved Shop Pay card is outdated, replace it at checkout where that option is offered. Do not enter a made-up address or another person’s identity to try to pass a payment check.
Authentication or 3-D Secure does not finish
Some payments trigger an additional security step, such as a 3-D Secure challenge. If one appears, follow the instructions shown and return to checkout to see whether the order completed. A closed challenge window, expired session or interrupted connection can leave a payment unconfirmed. If checkout repeatedly requests authentication or gives an authentication error, note the exact message and contact Coinepay support. Do not assume that a challenge will appear for every purchase or that completing one guarantees approval.
Merchant region or order checks
A store may limit the countries it ships to or apply checks to the billing country, delivery destination or payment method. A decline can also follow the merchant’s own order review. Confirm that your real address and intended delivery destination meet the store’s published requirements. If the store states a restriction on eligible cards or issuing countries, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before you buy; do not assume that it does. Ask the store about its checkout and shipping policies if the error points to an order restriction.
Shop Pay is unavailable or no order confirmation arrives
If Shop Pay is not displayed, check the payment methods the store actually offers for that order. If you submitted payment but received no confirmation, look for an order in your store account or contact the store before trying again. Share the order number or checkout error when available, but never send a CVV or a full card number in a support message.
Before you try again
Take a moment to check three separate things: whether your card information and available funds are correct in Coinepay, whether your real billing and shipping details are correct at checkout, and whether the store has confirmed an order. This helps you decide whom to contact. Coinepay support can help with questions about your card or a card transaction; the store handles its Shop Pay checkout, order acceptance, shipping and refunds. Neither a visible Shop Pay button nor an issued virtual card guarantees that a particular purchase will be approved.
