You can sign up for Typeform for free, then choose a paid plan when you need more responses or features. This guide explains Typeform’s checkout steps, an important card restriction to check before buying, and what to do if your payment is declined. It covers paying for your Typeform subscription—not collecting payments from people who fill out your forms.
What to check before you subscribe
Typeform lists Visa, Mastercard and American Express among the card brands it accepts, and says Stripe processes its card payments. Typeform also lists prepaid cards as unsupported. Do not assume that a Coinepay virtual card meets Typeform’s card requirements. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets them before you buy. Typeform makes the final decision about whether to accept a payment.
To use Coinepay card services, you must register and complete identity verification. Once your virtual card is issued, its card number, expiry date and CVV are available immediately. Check the Coinepay app or dashboard for the information you need to manage your card and funds, and make sure you can cover the amount shown at Typeform checkout, including any applicable taxes. If you need to confirm a card setting or requirement, ask Coinepay support rather than guessing.
You will also need a Typeform account and permission to change its plan. Only an organization owner or admin can make that change. Have your real billing name and address ready, and use the details that apply to you; changing an address to obtain a different currency or bypass a payment check is not an appropriate fix.
Choose the right Typeform plan and billing cycle
Typeform’s self-service plans are Free, Basic, Plus, Business, Talent and Growth Flow. Growth Custom and Enterprise are sales-led, while Research Flow is listed separately as a contact-sales option. If you are starting out, the monthly response allowance is a useful comparison: Free allows 10 responses; Basic, 100; Plus, 1,000; Talent, 3,000; and Business and Growth Flow, 10,000 each. Compare the features and current terms on Typeform’s official pricing page before selecting a plan.
At checkout, you can choose monthly or yearly billing and any available add-ons. A displayed annual-billing figure expressed as a monthly equivalent does not mean Typeform will charge you once a month: paid subscriptions are charged upfront for the selected month or year, then recur at the start of each billing cycle. Growth Flow has advertised a 14-day trial that requires a card; review the trial and renewal terms shown to you before confirming. Prices can vary, so treat the final checkout total—not a figure you saw elsewhere—as the amount to review before payment.
Typeform says subscriptions are billed in GBP for the U.K., EUR for the EU and USD outside the U.S., EU and U.K. The billing address saved or entered at checkout can affect the displayed currency, and applicable taxes may be added to published prices. Use your accurate billing address and check the currency and total on the checkout screen.
How to sign up and pay for Typeform
- Create your accounts if needed. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. On Typeform, sign up for a free account using Google, Microsoft or email and password. If you choose email and password, complete the email activation step.
- Check your role and plan. Sign in to Typeform as an organization owner or admin. Review the response allowance and features you need, then decide whether monthly or yearly billing suits you.
- Open Typeform’s plan settings. Use the organization menu in the upper-left corner, select Plan & Billing, then choose Upgrade/Change plan.
- Review your selection. Choose the plan, billing cycle and any add-ons you want. Select Go to checkout. Check the displayed currency, taxes, billing period and total before entering payment information.
- Enter your card and billing details. Get your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV from the app or dashboard. Enter them in Typeform’s payment fields along with your real billing details. Follow any payment authentication prompt that appears.
- Confirm only after reviewing the terms. Select Pay and upgrade when the checkout details are correct. Return to Plan & Billing to check your plan and find billing details, invoices, add-ons and usage.
If you already have a paid plan, an upgrade takes effect immediately and Typeform charges the difference for the current period. Review the amount shown before confirming a change. A temporary $0 or $1 authorization can also appear during card verification; Typeform says Stripe reverses it immediately, although it may remain pending with the card provider for longer.
If Typeform declines your card
A decline does not, by itself, identify the cause. Avoid repeatedly submitting unchanged details. Instead, check the message and work through the relevant possibilities:
- Insufficient funds: Check the full checkout total, including taxes and any selected add-ons, against the funds available for the card. Remember that a paid subscription is charged upfront for the selected billing period. Check the Coinepay app or contact support if you are unsure what is available for payment.
- Card details or billing address mismatch: Re-enter the card number, expiry date and CVV carefully. Confirm that the billing name and address you supplied are your real, current details. If you need to correct Typeform’s saved information, look under Plan & Billing → Edit billing details.
- Authentication or 3-D Secure: If checkout asks you to authenticate, complete the prompt rather than closing it. If you see “authentication failed”, check whether the prompt expired or was interrupted, then ask Coinepay support for help with the card-side authentication. The message alone does not establish the exact cause.
- Card-type or merchant checks: Typeform does not support prepaid cards, and its payment processor may apply other checks. For “This card does not support this type of purchase. Please use a different card.”, do not assume the message proves which rule was triggered. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Typeform’s requirements, and contact Typeform billing support about the checkout result.
- Region or currency checks: Verify that your real billing address and the displayed billing currency are correct. A mismatch can require investigation; do not substitute an address from another region. Ask Typeform billing support about any region-related rejection and Coinepay support about the card-side result.
- Other errors: If you see “Argh! Something went wrong”, note when it appeared and whether a charge or plan change occurred. Check Plan & Billing before trying again, then provide Typeform billing support with the error text. You can ask Coinepay support to review the card-side outcome.
Typeform also identifies expired card details and fraud controls as possible decline factors. If a payment continues to fail, ask the relevant support team to investigate rather than treating any one error message as a diagnosis.
Manage renewals, payment details and cancellation
Keep enough funds available for your chosen billing cycle and review your renewal information in Plan & Billing. Typeform says it retries a missed renewal payment over 14 days and downgrades the account if payment still fails. To change the card saved for future payments, use Plan & Billing → Edit payment method. Typeform says payment information can be deleted only while the account is on Free or after the subscription expires.
To cancel a paid subscription, go to Plan & Billing → Cancel my plan → Free/Get Free, then finish the survey and final confirmation. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the prepaid month or year, not immediately. Typeform says it does not refund the unused portion of a contract canceled early. Your existing forms and responses remain, but forms using paid features may enter trial mode after the downgrade. Check what your forms need before canceling.

Do not assume so. Typeform lists prepaid cards as unsupported. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Typeform’s requirements before buying; Typeform decides whether to accept the payment.
Where do I change the card used for my Typeform subscription?
In Typeform, open the upper-left organization menu, go to Plan & Billing, and select Edit payment method.
Why does Typeform say my card does not support this type of purchase?
That message does not establish the exact cause. Check Typeform’s card restrictions, ask Coinepay support to confirm your card meets them, and contact Typeform billing support about the decline.
