Eventbrite payments depend on what you are buying: a ticket, an optional Eventbrite+ buyer membership, or an Eventbrite Premium organizer subscription. This guide shows where to start each checkout, how to enter your Coinepay virtual card details, and what to check if payment does not go through. The payment methods offered can vary by event, country and account.
Before you start
- Set up your card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Your virtual card’s number, expiry date and CVV are available in the Coinepay app or 24/7 self-service dashboard.
- Check your available funds. Allow for the full amount displayed at Eventbrite checkout, including any ticket fees or add-ons. If you are subscribing, check the amount and billing frequency before confirming. Consult the Coinepay app or contact support for card-specific funding details.
- Use your real details. Enter your own name and an accurate billing address consistent with your payment details. Do not change your country or address to get around an event’s eligibility rules or payment checks.
- Check what is offered. A card-entry option must appear in the relevant checkout. Eventbrite may offer different methods depending on the organizer’s payment setup, country, event date and ticket price. Seeing a card option does not guarantee that a particular card will be accepted.
You can manage Coinepay through its dashboard or the mobile app for iOS and Android. Eventbrite account and payment settings are managed separately on Eventbrite.
How to pay for an Eventbrite ticket
- Open the event listing. Check the event date, location, ticket types and organizer’s refund policy before selecting your tickets. A free event may still require registration, but it does not require a paid-ticket checkout.
- Select tickets and continue. Review the quantity, ticket price, any add-ons and the total shown before you pay. Ticketing Fees may apply to paid tickets, add-ons or donations; Eventbrite says organizers can choose to absorb those fees rather than pass them to buyers.
- Enter attendee and buyer information. Provide the buyer’s name and email and complete any additional questions the organizer requests. Use an email address you can access for the confirmation and receipt.
- Choose a card if offered. At the payment step, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. Enter your real billing details where requested, then review the final amount and select Check out.
- Verify the result. After a completed order, Eventbrite displays a confirmation and emails a receipt. If checkout stops on an error, do not assume the ticket was issued; check your Eventbrite account and email before trying again.
Some events offer other checkout routes, such as an offline cash or check option. PayPal or Afterpay, when offered, redirects buyers to that provider. Those routes are not the same as entering a virtual card directly in Eventbrite’s card fields. If no card-entry option appears, review the methods shown for that event rather than assuming every event uses the same checkout.
How to subscribe to Eventbrite Premium
Eventbrite says organizers can publish unlimited events for free. Eventbrite Premium is a separate, optional organizer subscription with monthly or annual billing; it is not a ticket type or a required plan for buying tickets. Eligibility is being expanded, so the subscription may not appear for every organizer account. Eventbrite names the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and select European countries as Premium markets.
- Create an Eventbrite account or sign in to your existing organizer account.
- Go to Organization settings → Plan management. If Premium is available to your organization, review the subscription options presented there.
- Select the billing period you want and read the displayed price and terms. At the time of writing (October 2026), Eventbrite listed US Premium at $69 per month or $708 per year. Prices differ by market and may change; check Eventbrite’s official Premium pricing information and your account’s checkout for the applicable amount.
- If the checkout offers a suitable card-entry option, enter your Coinepay card details and your real billing information. Review the charge before confirming, then check Plan management for the subscription status.
For invoice details, Eventbrite directs organizers to Organization settings → Plan management → Billing history → Download CSV. If a Premium payment-method error appears, the same Plan management area may offer Confirm payment on Stripe to update payment information. Follow the instructions shown there rather than repeatedly submitting an unchanged payment.
Eventbrite’s help information says its older Pro subscription is closed to new subscribers. If you already have a plan, use the options shown in your own account; do not treat a public reference to Pro as confirmation that a new subscription is available.
What if Eventbrite+ appears at ticket checkout?
Eventbrite+ is an optional monthly membership for eligible ticket buyers, not an organizer Premium subscription. Eligible buyers opt in during ticket checkout and need an Eventbrite account. Eventbrite requires a credit or debit card for this membership. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before you buy; do not assume eligibility from the card’s appearance alone.
Eventbrite shows the membership price and applicable savings cap at eligible checkout. The ticket and membership are charged separately, so review both amounts before opting in. After subscribing, the membership payment method is managed under Account settings → Eventbrite+. If you only intend to buy a ticket, check whether Eventbrite+ is selected before completing checkout.
Troubleshooting a declined card
If Eventbrite says your card was declined, work through the checks below. Eventbrite also documents the message “Unusual activity detected” during registration for an event. A failed Premium payment may instead appear as a payment-method error; its wording can differ from a ticket-checkout error.
| Possible cause | What to do |
|---|---|
| Insufficient available funds | Compare your available card funds with the complete checkout total, not just the ticket’s face value. For Eventbrite+, remember that the membership and ticket are separate charges. Check funding details in Coinepay before retrying. |
| Incorrect card or billing details | Recheck the card number, expiry date and CVV against the Coinepay app. Correct any typo in the billing name or address and use your genuine details. Eventbrite specifically recommends checking these fields when a card is declined. |
| Additional authentication, including 3-D Secure | If checkout opens an authentication step, complete the instructions presented by your card provider. If that step fails or never finishes, avoid repeated rapid attempts and ask Coinepay support whether the attempted payment reached the card for authentication. |
| Merchant or region checks | Check the event’s eligibility rules and the payment options actually offered at checkout. A method available for one event or country may not appear for another. Do not use an inaccurate address or location to bypass a restriction; ask Eventbrite about an event-specific checkout rule and Coinepay support about your card. |
| Card-type or security checks | Eventbrite notes that government-issued or prepaid gift cards may be declined. For an “Unusual activity detected” message, stop repeated attempts and contact Eventbrite support for help with the order. Coinepay support can help you check a card-side decline. |
If a Premium renewal or initial subscription payment has an error, start at Organization settings → Plan management and look for Confirm payment on Stripe. For a ticket, check whether Eventbrite issued a confirmation before starting a fresh order, especially if you saw an error after submitting payment.
Manage cancellations and refunds
To cancel Premium, go to Organization settings → Plan management → Cancel subscription. Eventbrite says access continues through the current billing cycle without another subscription charge. Subscribers who signed up within 14 days may request a refund; later subscription fees are generally nonrefundable except where law requires otherwise.
Cancel Eventbrite+ under Account settings → Eventbrite+; benefits continue until the end of the period. Eventbrite says cancelling during a free trial avoids membership renewal but triggers a charge for ticket fees saved during that trial. Cancelling Eventbrite+ does not cancel or refund any tickets.
Ticket refunds are a separate matter. Read the organizer’s policy on the event listing before purchase: an organizer may have a “no refunds” policy, subject to Eventbrite’s requirements for cancelled or unperformed events and certain postponed events. Ticketing Fees are normally nonrefundable, with exceptions Eventbrite lists for circumstances including cancelled or postponed events and qualifying duplicate charges. For an order-specific question, contact the event organizer through Eventbrite.
