Vueling sells flights rather than a monthly subscription, so "paying" for Vueling usually means booking a ticket and choosing a fare bundle at checkout. This guide explains what you need, how to pay with a Coinepay virtual card, and what to try if your card is declined. The Vueling details below come from Vueling's own help pages; the checkout layout can change, so always confirm the final price and terms on the Vueling website or app before you confirm.

What you need before you book

  • A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. You must register and pass verification before your card can be used.
  • A Coinepay virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV, visible in the Coinepay app (iOS / Google Play) or dashboard.
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the full fare. Vueling requires payment in full for a valid confirmed booking.
  • Your real billing name and address, matching the details registered to your Coinepay card.
  • Optionally, a free Vueling Club account. Membership starts at the Basic tier and is free to join on Vueling's website or app; it is not required to buy a ticket.

Understand Vueling's fare bundles

When you book directly, Vueling offers three bundles. Choosing the right one up front avoids paying more later:

  • Fly Light – includes an underseat bag.
  • Fly – adds a choice of overhead or checked baggage, plus seat selection.
  • Fly Grande – includes both bag types, seat selection, changes, and cancellation for Flight Credit.

Fly Pro is an agency-booking bundle rather than a direct consumer option. Fares are dynamic and route-specific, so there is no fixed market-wide price list. For example, a London–Barcelona route page can show a low "from" fare for a specific date, but that figure changes constantly. Always check the live price for your dates on the official Vueling site.

Step-by-step: book and pay with your Coinepay card

  1. Open the Vueling app or go to the Vueling website and search for your route and dates.
  2. Select your outbound (and return) flights from the results.
  3. Choose your bundle: Fly Light, Fly, or Fly Grande. If you may need flexibility, consider Fly Grande, or add a Flex Pack during booking to allow cancellation for Flight Credit up to two hours before departure.
  4. Add passenger details using the traveller's real identity and any extras such as seats or bags.
  5. At the payment page, select the card option. Vueling's checkout accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, UATP, UnionPay and JCB on mobile; on desktop UnionPay and JCB are excluded. If your Coinepay card is not among the networks offered on the device you are using, switch devices or contact Coinepay support to confirm which networks your card supports.
  6. Enter your Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as shown in the app.
  7. Enter the billing name and address registered to your Coinepay card.
  8. Complete any 3-D Secure (two-factor) step if prompted. Approve the confirmation in your Coinepay app or via the verification method on your account.
  9. Confirm payment and wait for the booking confirmation. Keep the confirmation email and reference number.

Other listed ticket-payment options include PayPal, iDEAL (euros), Revolut, Bizum, Flight Credit and Avios, with Apple Pay on mobile only. Bizum requires a Spanish bank account, and Avios can only be used on Vueling-operated flights. For extras bought after booking, the available methods differ: PayPal, iDEAL and Revolut are desktop-only, Apple Pay is mobile-only, and Flight Credit is not accepted.

If your Coinepay card was not issued in euros, Vueling may offer to charge it in its home currency. Review the displayed amount and currency before you confirm.

A note on the Vueling Visa cards

Vueling's co-branded Vueling Visa and Vueling UP! Visa credit cards are available only to residents of Spain. That residency rule applies to those specific co-branded products and is not a stated restriction on booking flights with other accepted cards. Your Coinepay virtual card is a separate product and is not one of these co-branded cards.

Troubleshooting: card declined or payment error

Vueling's payment help page does not publish a list of decline codes; it directs customers with payment errors to its contact form. These are the most common general causes and what to check:

Insufficient balance

Airfares can include taxes and selected extras, so the total may be higher than the headline fare. Make sure your Coinepay card holds enough to cover the full amount, then retry. You can top up and review your available balance in the Coinepay app.

Billing address mismatch

If the name or billing address you type does not match what is registered to your card, the payment can be rejected. Re-enter the details exactly as they appear in your Coinepay profile.

3-D Secure not completed

If the verification prompt does not appear or times out, the charge can fail. Keep your phone nearby with the Coinepay app signed in, allow notifications, and complete the authentication promptly. Then try the payment again.

Merchant region or device differences

Some payment methods and networks depend on the device (mobile versus desktop) and the purchase currency. If a card network is missing on desktop, try the Vueling app, and vice versa. Some users have also reported a generic "connection error" during checkout; if you see this, wait a short while, refresh, or switch between the app and the website before retrying. This is a Vueling-side message, not confirmation that your card was blocked.

Still failing?

If the payment keeps failing, confirm the card details are correct and the card is active in your Coinepay app, then check with Coinepay support that the transaction was not blocked on your side. For a checkout or booking-system error, use Vueling's contact form. You can also reach the Coinepay team via Telegram.

After you pay: invoices, changes and refunds

To review a booking or get an invoice, use My trips on Vueling; there is also a separate Request an invoice form. Keep in mind Vueling's cancellation rules:

  • Fly Light and Fly tickets are generally non-refundable if you simply choose not to travel; Vueling states a cancellation grace period of up to two hours after booking.
  • Fly Grande, or Fly Light/Fly with a Flex Pack, allows cancellation up to two hours before departure for Flight Credit rather than a cash refund, and it applies to everyone on the booking.
  • If Vueling cancels your flight, its stated options include a full eligible ticket refund within seven days of application to the original payment method, or rerouting.

When a refund is returned to the original payment method, it goes back to the Coinepay card you used. Keep that card open in your Coinepay account so the funds can be received.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card to book a Vueling flight?

Yes. Complete Coinepay verification, then at Vueling's payment page enter your Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV and finish any 3-D Secure step. Vueling accepts several card networks; if your card's network is not shown on one device, try the other (mobile vs desktop) or check with Coinepay support.

Why was my card declined at Vueling checkout?

Common causes are insufficient balance for the full fare, a billing address that doesn't match your card profile, an incomplete 3-D Secure confirmation, or a device-specific network limitation. Vueling does not publish decline codes; verify your details, then contact Coinepay support or Vueling's contact form.

Do I need a Vueling Club account to pay?

No. Vueling Club is free and starts at the Basic tier, but it is optional. You can search, choose a bundle and pay for a ticket without joining.

Will a refund go back to my Coinepay card?

If Vueling issues a refund to the original payment method, it returns to the Coinepay card you used. Keep that card open in your Coinepay account. Note that voluntary cancellations on many fares give Flight Credit rather than a cash refund.

Which Vueling fare bundle should I choose?

Fly Light includes an underseat bag; Fly adds overhead or checked baggage and seat selection; Fly Grande adds both bag types, seat selection, changes and cancellation for Flight Credit. Choose based on baggage and flexibility needs, and check the live price for your route.
