To sell through a Wix store, you need a site plan that accepts payments. This guide covers choosing a plan, paying Wix with a Coinepay virtual card, and checking what went wrong if the purchase is declined. Paying for your Wix plan is separate from setting up the payment methods your own shoppers will use.
Choose a Wix plan that accepts payments
Wix lists Free, Light, Core, Business, and Business Elite site plans, plus individually tailored Enterprise plans. Core is the lowest listed tier that accepts payments; Business and Business Elite also include eCommerce. Free and Light do not list payment acceptance. Compare the current features and the amount shown at checkout before choosing, because pricing and currency vary by location.
Check the billing cycle as carefully as the plan. Wix may offer monthly, yearly, and two- or three-year cycles. If you choose Yearly, you pay for the annual term in full at purchase, even if a price is displayed as a monthly equivalent. Site plans renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal.
What you need before checkout
- A Wix account and store site. You can register with an email address or a Facebook, Google, or Apple account. Creating an account does not require buying a plan.
- A Coinepay account ready for card use. Register and complete identity verification before using Coinepay card services. Your virtual card provides a card number, expiry date, and CVV, which you can access in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard.
- Enough available funds for the full checkout amount. Check the final amount and billing cycle in Wix, then check your available balance in Coinepay. Account for any other pending charges rather than relying only on an advertised monthly equivalent.
- Your real billing details. Enter the cardholder and address information accurately. Do not substitute an address from another region to try to pass a payment check.
Wix lists several credit-card types for its own services, as well as Visa and Mastercard debit cards enabled for online recurring payments. Payment options can vary at checkout. These requirements do not establish whether a particular Coinepay card qualifies: contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the applicable requirements before you buy. Some Coinepay services are not available in every jurisdiction.
How to sign up and pay for a Wix eCommerce plan
- Create or open your Wix account. Sign up on Wix using one of its available account methods, or sign in if you already have an account. Create or select the site that will host your store.
- Review the site’s plan options. Select Upgrade and compare Core, Business, and Business Elite against the store features you need. Choosing a plan for one site is not the same as upgrading every site in your Wix account.
- Choose your billing cycle. For an annual purchase, select Yearly, then Continue to Checkout. If you prefer another cycle, review the options Wix displays for your plan and region. Check the total payable now, rather than assuming you will be charged only one month.
- Enter your card and billing information. Retrieve the virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV from Coinepay. Enter them in Wix’s card fields alongside your real billing details. Check every digit and the address or ZIP code before proceeding.
- Review and submit. Read the order summary, renewal terms, and final charge. Select Submit Purchase when everything is correct. Your bank or payment provider may request an additional identity or security verification step; follow the prompt you actually receive.
- Confirm the result. Wait for Wix’s purchase confirmation and check that the plan appears on the intended site. You can review account subscriptions and billing history through the top-right account menu under Billing & Payments. If Wix reports a failure, check the troubleshooting steps below before submitting another purchase.
You can start Coinepay registration through Coinepay and manage your card in its dashboard or mobile app. Check the app or contact support if you need information about card-service availability or your account’s requirements.
Paying Wix does not activate shopper payments by itself
After buying a payment-enabled plan, publish your site and connect a payment provider from site dashboard → Settings → Accept Payments. Wix Payments requires business, identity, and bank details, followed by verification. Its merchant availability is limited to listed countries, and some associated territories are excluded. Where it is unavailable, the third-party providers you can connect depend on your country. Wix says a site can connect only one provider for card processing at a time.
Configure the checkout methods you intend to offer and, for physical products, shipping, delivery, or pickup for the shopper’s destination. Otherwise, a customer may not be able to complete an order. The payment methods customers see at your store depend on your enabled provider and location; they are not determined by the card you used to buy your Wix plan.
Troubleshoot a declined Wix plan payment
Start with the message on Wix’s checkout and any notification in Coinepay. A decline does not, by itself, identify which party rejected the transaction. Avoid repeatedly resubmitting unchanged details.
- Insufficient funds: Compare your Coinepay available balance with the full Wix checkout total. An annual plan is charged for the term at purchase. If the balance is too low, add funds using an available option in your Coinepay account and retry only after the balance updates.
- Incorrect card details or expired card: Re-enter the number, expiry date, and CVV from your current virtual card. Wix also documents failures involving invalid numbers, lost or stolen cards, and issuer refusals. If the details look correct but the payment still fails, contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempt.
- Billing-address mismatch: Wix says an address or ZIP-code mismatch can trigger an AVS rejection. Check that you entered your real billing details consistently. If you are unsure what details apply to your card, ask Coinepay support rather than trying alternative addresses.
- Security verification or 3-D Secure: A checkout may ask you to complete an additional verification step. Follow the on-screen instructions and check for an approval request or authentication prompt. If no prompt arrives, it expires, or authentication fails, ask Coinepay support to investigate the attempt; do not assume the payment was completed.
- Online, recurring, currency, or region checks: Wix documents declines when a card is not permitted for online, cross-border, foreign-currency, or recurring transactions. Review the currency and location shown at checkout, use your real account details, and ask Coinepay support whether your card meets Wix’s applicable payment requirements. Do not try to bypass a merchant or issuer restriction.
If Wix shows a completed charge but no plan upgrade, check Billing & Payments and the specific site before paying again. Keep the transaction date, amount, and any error text when contacting Wix about the order or Coinepay support about the card attempt.
Manage your plan and future charges
Use Wix’s top-right account menu to find Billing & Payments for subscriptions and billing history. Wix manages saved payment methods on its Payment Methods page. Check that a saved method remains usable before a renewal and review Wix’s auto-renewal setting if you do not want another term.
For a new Premium or Studio site plan, Wix says cancellation within 14 days qualifies for a full refund to the original payment method. This guarantee does not cover renewals or upgrades of an existing plan, and Wix says refund processing can take up to 45 business days. Canceling during that initial period ends the site plan immediately; canceling later stops renewal while the plan remains active through its paid term. Separately purchased domains, business email, and apps are not canceled with the site plan, so review them individually.
