To send money from abroad to an OK Wallet in Bangladesh, you need the recipient’s registered wallet number and full name. In Coinepay, select Bangladesh and choose OK Wallet as the payout method if it is available for your transfer. Check the recipient details, exchange rate and fees before confirming.
Before you start: confirm the wallet is ready
OK Wallet is a mobile financial service of ONE Bank PLC in Bangladesh. Its account number is the mobile number registered to the wallet, and the recipient receives funds in Bangladeshi taka (BDT). Ask the recipient to confirm that their OK Wallet is active and able to receive an inward remittance before you send.
OK Wallet requires identity verification and account activation for full service. A wallet that is still awaiting activation or verification may not be ready to receive money. Wallet balance and incoming-remittance restrictions can also affect a payout. OK’s published materials describe limits, but they should not be treated as a guarantee that a particular transfer will be accepted. The recipient can check their current account status and applicable restrictions with OK Wallet.
This is a transfer into an OK Wallet, not an international transfer started in the OK Wallet app. Bangladesh’s inward-remittance rules route wallet disbursements through banking channels. Do not use instructions for a domestic OK-to-OK transfer as instructions for sending money from abroad.
Get the recipient details
Before opening the transfer form, ask the recipient for:
- Their OK Wallet account number: the mobile number registered to their OK Wallet. Ask them to read it directly from their account details rather than relying on an old contact entry.
- Their full registered name: enter it exactly as registered with OK Wallet. Confirm the spelling and order of the name with the recipient.
- Confirmation that the wallet is active: the recipient should check that verification and activation are complete and that the wallet can receive the intended payment.
Do not substitute the recipient’s ordinary bank-account number for their OK Wallet number. If the Coinepay transfer form asks for an account ID rather than a phone number, confirm which identifier the selected OK Wallet payout method requires before proceeding. Enter your own identity and payment information accurately as well; do not change recipient details to try to bypass a validation check.
Send to OK Wallet with Coinepay
- Sign in to Coinepay. Open the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard and start a Global Remittance transfer. If you are new to Coinepay, register and complete the identity checks requested for your transfer.
- Select Bangladesh as the destination. Review the receiving-currency information displayed for the transfer. The recipient’s OK Wallet is a Bangladesh wallet used for BDT payments.
- Choose the payout method. Select mobile wallet and then OK Wallet if that option appears for your transfer. Available payout options can depend on the destination and transfer details. If OK Wallet does not appear, do not select a different wallet brand and assume it will reach the same account; contact Coinepay support to ask about the available route.
- Enter the recipient details. Use the OK Wallet-registered mobile number or the account identifier requested by the selected payout form, together with the recipient’s full name exactly as registered. Check every digit and letter with the recipient.
- Enter the amount and review the quote. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm. Check the amount the recipient is expected to receive, the payout method and the recipient details. If anything differs from what you intended, go back and correct it rather than confirming.
- Confirm and track the transfer. Follow the confirmation prompts, keep the transfer reference and use Coinepay’s transfer status tracking for updates. Coinepay may request documents about the transfer’s purpose or source of funds as part of its checks.
Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and applicable local regulations. A quote or submitted transfer does not mean that the recipient’s wallet has already been credited. If Coinepay offers only a bank-deposit option on your screen, ask support whether it can be used for an OK Wallet remittance before entering bank routing details. A standard deposit to a bank account should not be assumed to reach a mobile wallet.
How the recipient sees the money arrive
Once the inward remittance is paid out successfully, the recipient should check their OK Wallet balance and transaction history for the incoming credit. They may also receive a transaction message or digital receipt from OK Wallet. Ask them to verify the credited amount and retain the transaction details in case either provider needs to investigate.
OK Wallet publishes instructions for domestic Money Transfer → OK A/C to OK A/C payments in its app and through its *269# menu. Those steps are for sending from an OK Wallet to another OK Wallet; the recipient does not need to initiate that domestic transfer to receive money sent from abroad. OK Wallet says its app can be used only in Bangladesh, so a sender overseas should follow the remittance provider’s instructions rather than trying to start the payment in the OK app.
If you need a delivery estimate, use the one shown in Coinepay before confirming. Coinepay transfers can arrive in as little as 10 minutes, but the actual time depends on the payout method and destination country. Track the transfer instead of relying on a fixed arrival time.
Troubleshoot an OK Wallet payout
Wrong number or unintended recipient
If you notice an incorrect digit before confirming, correct it immediately. If you have already submitted the transfer, check its status and contact Coinepay support promptly with the transfer reference. Do not assume a completed payment can be recalled. OK Wallet warns that recovering a completed transfer to an unintended account may require the recipient’s consent or a court direction. Confirm the number and name with the recipient before sending again.
Name mismatch
If the entered name does not match the wallet holder’s registered name, the payout may require correction or further review. Ask the recipient to check their registered full name with OK Wallet, then contact Coinepay support with the transfer reference and the accurate details. Avoid submitting another transfer while the first one remains unresolved.
Wallet limit reached or wallet not verified
An incoming payment may not complete if the recipient’s wallet cannot accept it under its current account status or applicable restrictions. Ask the recipient to check their wallet balance, verification and activation status, and incoming-remittance eligibility with OK Wallet. If a restriction is confirmed, ask Coinepay support what happens to the pending transfer. Do not split payments to get around a limit or a compliance check.
Compliance review or missing credit
Coinepay may request identity information or documents relating to the purpose or source of funds. Respond through its official channels and follow the status shown for your transfer. If Coinepay shows the transfer as completed but the recipient cannot find the credit, have the recipient check their OK Wallet transaction history and contact OK Wallet with the relevant transaction reference. OK Wallet lists 16269 as its helpline and +880 9666716269 for overseas calls. Neither sender nor recipient should share an OK Wallet PIN or one-time password with someone claiming to investigate a transfer.
