Qualtrics is a survey and experience-research platform, and its self-service store lets you buy a paid subscription online with a card. If you want to keep your main account separate from your research spending, a Coinepay virtual card gives you a card number, expiry date and CVV you can use at the Qualtrics checkout. This guide walks through what you need, how to sign up and pay, and what to do if the card is declined.

Before you start

A few things make the checkout go smoothly:

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register at Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to pay. You can manage everything from the Coinepay dashboard or the mobile app for iOS and Android.
  • A funded virtual card. Create a Coinepay virtual card and make sure its available balance covers the full charge. Qualtrics self-service subscriptions are paid at the start of each annual term, so the whole year is billed up front, not month by month.
  • Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address that match your Coinepay card profile. Mismatched details are a common cause of declines.

Which Qualtrics plan can you buy with a card?

The self-service lineup has three tiers:

  • Qualtrics Surveys — Free: no credit card required. It allows one user, three active surveys and 500 total responses.
  • Strategic Research (online purchase): the paid plan you can buy directly online with a card. It includes 1,000 responses shared across users.
  • Strategic Research (custom pricing by quote): the enterprise option, listed with 5,000-plus responses and sold through sales, not self-service checkout.

Other Customer Experience, Employee Experience and research offerings use Request Pricing, so you can't pay for them directly with a card online.

At the time of writing (October 2026), the online Strategic Research plan is advertised on the US page at USD 420 per month, billed USD 5,040 annually — the "per month" figure is the advertised equivalent, not a monthly-payment option. The UK, Germany, France and Australia buy-online pages also show USD 420 per month / USD 5,040 billed annually, though local-currency checkout totals aren't published. Prices vary by region and change, so always confirm the current amount on the official Qualtrics buy-online page before you pay.

Step-by-step: subscribing and paying

If you are a new buyer

  1. Go to the Qualtrics buy-online page and choose the online Strategic Research plan.
  2. Enter your email address and verify it through the confirmation email Qualtrics sends.
  3. Fill in your account details and the required billing information. Use your real name and the billing address tied to your Coinepay card.
  4. At the payment step, choose card payment. The self-service store accepts credit cards or, for customers in the US and Europe, bank-account payment; customers elsewhere are offered card payment.
  5. Enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as shown in the Coinepay app.
  6. Review the plan, term and total, accept the stated terms, and complete the purchase. The invoice and receipt are generated after the payment goes through.

If you already have a free or trial account

Upgrade from inside your account instead of starting over. Open the account menu → Upgrade Plan, or go to Account Settings → Plans → Buy now, then enter your card details at the payment step. Note that the optional 30-day Strategic Research trial downgrades to Qualtrics Surveys Free if you don't upgrade before it ends.

Confirm the charge in Coinepay

After checkout, open your Coinepay app and check the card's transaction list to confirm the payment posted. For eligible self-service accounts, Qualtrics shows your plan, renewal date, cost, payment information and transaction history under Account Settings → Billing. That tab isn't shown for licenses bought outside self-service.

If your card is declined

Qualtrics names several possible reasons a card payment can fail. It doesn't publish exact on-screen error wording, so work through the likely causes below.

Insufficient funds or limit

The annual term is charged in full at purchase, so the card must hold the entire amount at once. Open the Coinepay app, check your available balance against the checkout total, and top up if needed before retrying.

Billing address mismatch

An incomplete or inaccurate billing address is a listed failure cause. The address you type at Qualtrics must match the billing details on your Coinepay card. Correct any typos in the street, city, postal code or country and try again.

3-D Secure / verification step

Some card payments trigger an extra verification prompt. Keep your phone and the Coinepay app handy during checkout so you can approve any confirmation request without the session timing out.

Issuer decline or block after repeated attempts

Qualtrics notes that issuers can decline a charge or block the card after repeated failed attempts. If your first try fails, don't hammer the checkout — fix the likely cause first, then retry once. If it keeps failing, Qualtrics directs buyers to contact their issuer or account-upgrade support. From the Coinepay side, review your card status and recent declines in the app, or reach Coinepay support or our Telegram channel.

Card type or region checks

Qualtrics' subscription help page says the store accepts "credit cards" but doesn't list which networks or card types (for example debit or prepaid) are accepted for a self-service subscription, and self-service licenses can't be created in the FedRAMP environment. If a payment is refused for a reason you can't resolve, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you try again, and confirm with Qualtrics that self-service purchase is available for your account and region.

Renewals, cancellation and refunds

Self-service subscriptions renew automatically and are charged at the start of each annual term, so keep your Coinepay card funded ahead of the renewal date if you want to continue. Under Qualtrics' online-payment amendment, covered card subscriptions renew unless you give notice at least 24 hours before the term ends; Qualtrics says it will give 45 days' notice of the renewal price and term and limits any renewal-price increase to no more than 5% under that amendment.

To stop a renewal, go to Account Settings → Billing → Cancel renewal. Your paid term stays active until it ends, after which the account downgrades to Free. Qualtrics' published general terms say orders are generally non-cancellable and fees non-refundable except as the agreement provides, with a prorated refund only for specified qualifying terminations — not a general refund for simply choosing to stop. Refund requests go to Account Services; there's no confirmed no-questions-asked refund window.

Always confirm the current plan details, price and terms on the official Qualtrics site before you buy. This guide explains how to pay with a Coinepay card; it isn't affiliated with Qualtrics.

FAQ

Which Qualtrics plan can I pay for with a virtual card?

The online Strategic Research plan is the one you can buy directly with a card through the self-service store. Qualtrics Surveys is free and needs no card, while the enterprise Strategic Research tier and other experience products are custom-priced by quote through sales.

Is Qualtrics billed monthly or annually?

Self-service subscriptions are paid at the start of each annual term, so the full year is charged up front. The advertised "per month" figure is an equivalent, not a monthly-payment option, so make sure your Coinepay card holds the whole amount.

Why was my Coinepay card declined at Qualtrics checkout?

Common causes Qualtrics lists are insufficient funds or limit, an inaccurate billing address, an issuer decline, or a block after repeated attempts. Check your balance and billing details in the Coinepay app, approve any verification prompt, then retry once. If it keeps failing, contact Coinepay support.

Where do I see my Qualtrics payment history and renewal date?

For eligible self-service accounts, go to Account Settings → Billing to see your plan, renewal date, cost, payment information and transaction history. This tab isn't shown for licenses purchased outside self-service.

How do I stop Qualtrics from charging my card again?

Go to Account Settings → Billing → Cancel renewal. Your paid term stays active until it ends, then the account downgrades to Free. Give notice at least 24 hours before the term ends, as covered subscriptions renew automatically.
