Coins.ph is one of the most widely used mobile wallets in the Philippines, where it holds and pays out Philippine pesos (PHP). If you are abroad and want to put pesos straight into a family member's or friend's Coins.ph balance, you can send a cross-border transfer with Coinepay Global Remittance and have it delivered to their wallet. This guide explains what you need from the recipient, how to send the transfer step by step, how to track it, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Before you start: what Coins.ph is and who can receive

Coins.ph is a Philippine peso e-wallet regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). The service is operated by Betur, Inc. and DCPay Philippines, Inc. A Coins.ph balance is not a bank deposit and is not covered by Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) insurance, so your recipient is holding funds in an e-money account rather than a bank account.

To receive and use money, your recipient generally needs a verified Coins.ph account. Coins.ph requires ID-and-selfie verification before a user can cash out or move funds, and basic (unverified) accounts have the tightest restrictions. Ask your recipient to confirm their account is verified before you send, so the pesos are not stuck on arrival.

What you need from the recipient

Because payout fields differ by wallet, collect the details exactly as they appear in the recipient's Coins.ph profile:

  • Full name as registered on the Coins.ph account, spelled exactly (including middle name if shown). A name that does not match the account can cause the payout to be rejected.
  • Registered mobile number or account ID tied to the Coins.ph wallet.
  • The country and currency: Philippines, paid out in PHP.

Coins.ph's own cash-out screens ask for the account-holder name and account number, sometimes with a mobile-number field, and the exact fields shown depend on the delivery rail. In Coinepay, enter the details for the Coins.ph payout option exactly as the app prompts you, rather than assuming a phone number alone is enough.

Step by step: send to a Coins.ph wallet

  1. Register and verify. Create your Coinepay account at the sign-up page and complete identity verification (KYC). You can manage everything from the dashboard or the mobile app for iOS and Android. Verification is required before you can send a cross-border transfer.
  2. Start a new transfer. Open Global Remittance and choose to send money.
  3. Choose the destination. Select the Philippines as the destination country and PHP as the payout currency.
  4. Pick the mobile wallet payout method. Choose the mobile-wallet option and select Coins.ph as the receiving wallet, if listed as a destination in your region. Coinepay supports bank deposit, mobile wallets and cash pickup, so confirm you have picked the wallet route.
  5. Enter the recipient details. Type the recipient's full registered name and their registered mobile number or account ID, following the exact fields the app displays.
  6. Review the rate and fees. Enter the amount and check the exchange rate, fees and the amount your recipient will receive in PHP. These are shown clearly before you confirm, along with the estimated arrival time.
  7. Confirm. Once the details are correct, confirm the transfer. If Coinepay requests supporting information, such as the purpose or source of funds, provide it so the transfer can be processed.

How fast it arrives and how the recipient sees it

Transfers can arrive in as little as 10 minutes, but the actual delivery time depends on the payout method and the destination country; the estimate for your specific transfer is shown in the app before you confirm. When the payout completes, the recipient sees the pesos credited to their Coins.ph balance and typically receives an in-app notification. From there they can spend, pay bills, or cash out to another wallet or bank within Coins.ph.

Note that Coins.ph's own InstaPay cash-outs (moving money from Coins.ph to another wallet) carry a ₱50,000 per-transaction ceiling, and receiving wallets apply their own account limits. These are separate from your incoming Coinepay transfer, but they matter if the recipient later forwards the money.

Wallet verification levels and limits in general terms

Coins.ph applies account-wide transaction limits that increase with the verification level. Identity-verified accounts have higher withdrawal ceilings, and enhanced-verified accounts higher still; unverified basic accounts are heavily restricted and generally cannot withdraw. Incoming and outgoing peso transactions count toward these limits. If your recipient is close to a cap or on a lower verification tier, a large incoming amount may bounce or be held, so it is worth confirming their status in advance. Exact thresholds are set by Coins.ph and can change, so have the recipient check their limits inside the Coins.ph app.

Tracking your transfer

Every Coinepay transfer has a status you can follow in the dashboard or app, from submitted through processing to delivered. Keep the transfer reference handy and ask the recipient to confirm the credit on their side. If the status shows delivered but the recipient does not see the funds, have them refresh their Coins.ph transaction history before raising a case.

Troubleshooting

Wrong number or account entered

Double-check the recipient's registered number or account ID before confirming. Mobile-wallet credits can be final once paid out, and recovery of a misdirected transfer is best-effort, depending on the receiving institution's policies and the unintended recipient's cooperation. If you spot a mistake, contact Coinepay support immediately with the transfer reference.

Name mismatch

If the name you entered does not match the registered Coins.ph account holder, the payout can be rejected and refunded. Re-enter the recipient's full name exactly as it appears on their Coins.ph profile and send again.

Wallet limit reached

If the recipient has hit a daily, monthly or annual limit, the credit may fail or be delayed. Ask them to check their limits in the Coins.ph app and, if needed, upgrade their verification level before you retry.

Unverified or inactive wallet

Basic, unverified accounts cannot receive or withdraw normally. Have the recipient complete Coins.ph's ID-and-selfie verification so their wallet can accept the funds.

Compliance review

Cross-border transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay screens all customers and counterparties, and may ask for documents such as the purpose or source of funds. Respond promptly with accurate information to clear the review. Never split a transfer, use a third party, or attempt to work around these checks.

Delivered status but no funds

If the estimated arrival time has passed and the money still is not showing, have the recipient refresh their Coins.ph history, then contact Coinepay support with your transfer reference and the recipient details so the payout can be traced.

A note on compliance and coverage

Coinepay sends to every country and region except those under comprehensive sanctions and does not serve sanctioned persons. The Philippines is a supported destination, and Coins.ph is a widely used peso wallet there. Use the recipient's real identity and real registered details; never attempt to bypass Coins.ph's or Coinepay's verification or terms. For anything specific to limits, rates or fees, check the figures shown in the Coinepay app before you confirm, or reach out via Telegram or support.
