If a friend, family member or supplier in Uzbekistan uses Payme, you can send them money from abroad with Coinepay Global Remittance. Before you start, there is one important thing to understand: the way money reaches a Payme user has changed. This guide explains what Payme is used for today, exactly what you need to collect from your recipient, and how to set up and track the transfer in the Coinepay app.
Where Payme is used and what has changed
Payme is a popular payment app in Uzbekistan, and transfers to Uzbekistan are settled in Uzbekistani som (UZS). Historically Payme offered its own electronic wallet, branded payme card. That wallet has been wound down: Payme stopped issuing electronic money and suspended opening and topping up payme card wallets on 7 May 2025, and the deadline for customers to move money out of payme card and payme goals ran to the end of 29 December 2025.
What this means for you: "topping up a Payme wallet" from abroad is no longer an available method. You cannot load money into a payme card wallet today. Instead, Payme now works around the bank cards and accounts a user links in the app — it advertises transfers to HUMO and Uzcard cards by card number or phone number. So the practical way to send money to someone who uses Payme is to pay out to the Uzbekistani bank card or bank account they manage inside their Payme app.
If your recipient still has a balance stuck in an old payme card wallet, that is handled separately by Payme and Universal Bank, not by an incoming transfer. They should follow Payme's own recovery instructions rather than ask you to send more money.
What you need from your recipient
Ask your recipient for the details of the bank card or account they use with Payme. Because Uzbekistan's rules require the recipient's identity to match the destination instrument, accuracy matters. Collect:
- Full legal name exactly as registered on the receiving bank card or account — spelling, order and any middle name should match their bank records.
- The destination details: their HUMO or Uzcard card number, or their bank account details if you are sending a bank deposit.
- The registered phone number linked to their Payme/bank card, in full international format, as a cross-check.
- The bank name, so you can confirm it is supported by your payout.
Uzbekistan's regulation No. 3759 ties app-linked instruments to the user (or specified close relatives) and checks the phone number against the user's personal identification number (JSHSHIR/PINFL). A mismatch between the name, phone and card can block the card from being used, so confirm the details with the recipient before you send.
Before you begin with Coinepay
You need a Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. If you are new, create your account and finish verification first, then install the app from the App Store or Google Play. Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations, and Coinepay may ask for supporting documents such as the purpose of the transfer or the source of funds — having these ready avoids delays.
Step by step: send money to a Payme user in Uzbekistan
- Open Coinepay and start a new transfer. Go to the Global Remittance (send money) section of the app or dashboard.
- Choose the destination. Select Uzbekistan as the receiving country and UZS as the payout currency.
- Choose the payout method. Pick the method that matches the details your recipient gave you — a bank account deposit, or a card payout if available for their HUMO/Uzcard card. This is what lands in the account they use with Payme.
- Enter the recipient details. Type the full name exactly as registered, the card number or account details, the bank name, and the phone number. Double-check every digit.
- Review the exchange rate and fees. Coinepay shows the exchange rate, the fees and the amount your recipient will receive before you confirm. Check these figures and the estimated arrival time on this screen.
- Confirm. Approve the transfer. You may be prompted to provide the purpose or source of funds as part of compliance checks.
- Save your receipt. Keep the confirmation and reference number so you can track the transfer and share it with your recipient if needed.
How fast it arrives and how to track it
Coinepay transfers can arrive in as little as 10 minutes, but the actual time depends on the payout method and the destination country, so treat the estimate shown in the app before you confirm as your guide. You can follow the status of every transfer from the Coinepay dashboard or app — each one has live status tracking from sent to delivered.
How the recipient sees the money
When the payout reaches the recipient's Uzbekistani bank card or account, the funds appear in that account's balance, and they can view and use them through their Payme app the same way they manage that card. Their bank usually sends an SMS confirming the credit. If the SMS is delayed, that does not necessarily mean the money failed: Payme notes that mobile-operator technical problems can delay the arrival SMS even after a card has been credited, so the recipient should check the card balance or Payme account before assuming anything went wrong.
Troubleshooting
Wrong number or card number
If you entered the wrong phone number or card number, do not send more money to "correct" it. Check the transfer status in Coinepay and contact Coinepay support with your reference number as soon as possible. A payout to details that do not exist is usually returned, but acting quickly helps.
Name mismatch
If the recipient name does not match the bank's records for the card or account, the payout can be rejected. Ask your recipient for their name exactly as it appears on their bank records and re-enter it precisely.
Wallet or account limit reached
Receiving limits on the card or account are set by the recipient's issuing bank, and Payme shows the remaining limit in the card settings. If an incoming amount would exceed a limit, the recipient may need to wait for the limit to reset or use a different account. Coinepay shows any applicable sending limits and the amount before you confirm; it does not control the receiving bank's limits.
Unverified or restricted wallet
Because the payme card wallet is closed, send only to a bank card or account that is active and properly linked for your recipient. Under regulation No. 3759, a mismatch between the app phone number and the card's SMS-notification number can stop a card from being linked, and three incorrect one-time-password entries can restrict the user's actions for 15 minutes. If your recipient is having trouble on their side, they should resolve it with their bank or Payme before you resend.
Compliance review
If a transfer is paused for review, it is part of standard identity verification and sanctions screening. Respond promptly to any request for documents, such as the purpose of the transfer or the source of funds. Never split a transfer into smaller amounts or route it through someone else to avoid checks — that can cause more delay. Coinepay does not send to sanctioned persons or to jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions.

FAQ
Can I top up a Payme wallet from abroad?
No. Payme's own electronic wallet (payme card) was wound down — opening and topping up those wallets was suspended in 2025. To send money to a Payme user today, pay out to the Uzbekistani bank card or bank account they link in their Payme app, using a bank deposit or card payout in Coinepay.
What details do I need to send money to a Payme user in Uzbekistan?
You need the recipient's full name exactly as registered on their bank card or account, their HUMO or Uzcard card number or bank account details, the bank name, and their registered phone number in full international format. Confirm them with the recipient before sending.
How long does a Coinepay transfer to Uzbekistan take?
Transfers can arrive in as little as 10 minutes, but the actual time depends on the payout method and destination country. Coinepay shows an estimated arrival time before you confirm, and you can track the status in the app.
How much does it cost and what exchange rate will I get?
Coinepay shows the exchange rate, the fees and the exact amount your recipient will receive on screen before you confirm the transfer, so you can review everything before approving it.
The recipient didn't get an arrival SMS — did the transfer fail?
Not necessarily. Payme notes that mobile-operator technical issues can delay the arrival SMS even after a card has been credited. The recipient should check their card balance or Payme account first. If it still hasn't arrived, check the status in Coinepay and contact support with your reference number.
