You can start with a Miro Free team, then choose a paid plan when your team needs more. This guide walks through Miro’s Starter and Business checkout using a Coinepay virtual card, including what to check before you enter card details and what to do if payment fails.
Before you start: check the plan and payment requirements
Miro’s public plans are Free, Starter, Business, and Enterprise. Free allows three editable boards. Education is a separate free plan for eligible educational institutions. Starter and Business are the relevant plans for Miro’s self-service card checkout; Enterprise pricing is arranged through sales.
At the time of writing (October 2026), Miro’s US pricing showed Starter at US$8 per member per month when billed yearly, or US$10 per member when billed monthly. Business was US$20 per member per month when billed yearly, or US$25 per member when billed monthly. These are US figures, not a promise of your checkout total. Prices vary by region; check Miro’s official pricing page and the final checkout amount before purchasing. Applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST may be added based on the billing address.
Miro lists automated credit-card payments for Starter and Business, with monthly and yearly billing options. The information available does not establish that every virtual card qualifies for Miro’s credit-card checkout. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Miro’s payment requirement before you buy. Miro’s published pages also differ on whether a one-license card purchase is available: its pricing FAQ says there is no minimum, while some payment help pages specify two licenses. Use the license options shown in your checkout rather than assuming either rule applies to your purchase.
- Prepare your Miro account: Have access to the team you intend to upgrade and decide how many licenses you need.
- Prepare your card: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Card details—number, expiry date, and CVV—are available when your virtual card is issued. Check your available balance and any applicable card settings in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard.
- Use accurate details: Enter your real name, company information where relevant, and the billing details associated with your payment method. Do not use an invented address to change taxes or bypass a location check.
Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. Coinepay services may not be available in every jurisdiction.
How to sign up and purchase Miro Starter or Business
- Create or open your Miro account. Register on Miro’s official site if you are new. Miro documents sign-up options including Google, Slack, Office 365, Apple, and Facebook. You can create a Free team during registration. If you already have an account, sign in and select the team you want to upgrade.
- Select Upgrade. From the Free team, click Upgrade. Review the plan descriptions and choose Starter or Business. Enterprise follows a sales process rather than the same self-service purchase flow.
- Choose licenses and billing period. Select the license count the checkout permits, then choose monthly or yearly billing. Review the amount and renewal schedule shown for your selection. A yearly plan’s advertised per-member monthly figure does not mean it is charged one month at a time.
- Select the available card payment option. If Miro offers it for your order, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV. Use your real billing address and complete any requested company or tax details accurately. Check the final amount, including any applicable tax, against the funds available on your card.
- Complete any authorization and purchase. Miro supports 3-D Secure authorization. If your payment presents an authentication step, follow the on-screen instructions and do not close the flow before it finishes. Review the order, then click Purchase. Confirm that Miro displays a successful purchase before treating the subscription as active.
Miro also offers a 14-day Free-to-Business trial in its documented upgrade flow. That trial requires card details at checkout and automatically becomes a paid Business subscription unless canceled during the trial. Read the trial terms and note its end date before submitting card details.
Where to manage the card, invoices, and cancellation
For Starter and Business, open your Miro profile avatar → Admin console → Billing. To update the card used for the subscription, go to Payment methods → Change payment method. You can find billing records under Invoices. Check the next billing date and license count after changing payment details, especially if you have added members.
If you no longer need the paid plan, an admin can use Admin console → Billing → Billing actions → Cancel subscription. Miro says paid access continues until the end of the current billing period and unused time is not refunded. Outstanding charges for extra licenses may still be collected. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact Miro Support with the transaction details rather than assuming cancellation reverses it.
What to do if Miro declines the card or checkout will not load
Start with the message Miro actually shows. A declined payment, a failed authentication step, and a payment form that never loads are different problems. Miro users have reported messages such as “There is an issue with your payment method. Try a different payment method,” “Error loading payment session,” and “We’re having trouble loading the payment form.” Those reports do not establish the cause of any particular failure.
- Insufficient available balance: Compare the funds available on your Coinepay card with Miro’s final checkout amount, not just the advertised per-member price. Account for the license count, billing period, and any tax shown. Check the app or dashboard for the balance and applicable settings before retrying.
- Billing-address mismatch: Recheck the address, name, and other billing fields for typing errors. Use your genuine billing information. Miro uses the billing address to determine applicable tax, so changing it merely to obtain another region’s pricing is not an appropriate fix.
- 3-D Secure or authentication failure: Miro supports 3-D Secure. If an authorization prompt appears, complete it using the method provided for your payment. If it fails or never arrives, review any card activity in Coinepay and contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempt. Do not assume an authentication prompt will appear for every transaction.
- Merchant eligibility or region checks: Miro describes its automated option as credit-card payment, and card acceptance may depend on the card and the transaction. Ask Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Miro’s stated requirement; if needed, ask Miro Support what its checkout requires. Miro also restricts registration and access by location, including reported IP-based blocks affecting Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Belarus, and parts of Ukraine. A card cannot override Miro’s access rules. Consult Miro’s Support Policy for supported locations and use your actual location and details.
- Payment form will not load: If you see “Error loading payment session” or “We’re having trouble loading the payment form,” the form may not have reached the stage where a card can be charged. Sign back in, return to the intended team’s Upgrade flow, and check whether an order or invoice already exists before trying again. If the problem persists, send Miro Support the exact message and a description of where checkout stopped.
If a recurring subscription payment fails, Miro says it retries payment for 30 days. If the issue remains unresolved, the plan becomes view-only. Check Admin console → Billing for the payment method and invoices, and resolve the issue promptly rather than relying on retries.
Choosing a different Miro payment route
If self-service card checkout is unsuitable, review Miro’s payment options rather than repeatedly submitting the same transaction. Eligible annual Starter or Business invoices can be paid by credit card or wire transfer; ACH credit transfer is limited to the US. Miro lists invoice minimums of 10 Starter or 5 Business licenses, and invoicing is unavailable in some countries. Enterprise has separate payment arrangements, and Miro does not accept credit-card payment for Enterprise invoices over US$15,000.
For questions about your Coinepay card or a transaction visible in your account, use the Coinepay support page. For questions about Miro plan eligibility, an invoice, or an error inside Miro checkout, contact Miro Support. Neither support team can make a purchase exempt from the other service’s terms or location rules.
