Mistral's chat assistant, long known as Le Chat, was officially renamed Vibe in August 2026. Existing accounts, plans and conversations carry over, so if you search for "Le Chat" you will land on the same product. This guide walks through what you need to subscribe, how web and in-app checkout work, and what to check if your card is declined. You can pay with a Coinepay virtual card, which gives you an instant card number, expiry date and CVV for online purchases.
Before you start
A few things make checkout smoother:
- A verified Coinepay account. Register at Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to pay. Card services are not available until KYC is done, and virtual-asset-related services are not available to residents of mainland China or in every jurisdiction.
- Enough balance on the card to cover the plan price plus any applicable tax. Prices on Mistral's pricing page are shown excluding taxes.
- Your real billing details. Use the name, address and country that match your Coinepay account. Entering accurate billing information is the single biggest factor in avoiding a decline.
- A Mistral account. Sign up with your email on mistral.ai if you do not already have one.
Mistral's consumer terms note that use is subject to sanctions and export-control rules, and name Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk as examples of comprehensively sanctioned or embargoed locations. Coinepay likewise does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of those regions.
The plans you can choose
Mistral's official plan names are Free, Pro, Education, Team and Enterprise. On the pricing page as checked in October 2026, the United States view showed:
| Plan | Price (US, Oct 2026) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Pro | $14.99/month | Monthly or annual billing; excludes taxes |
| Education | $5.99/month | Verified students; limited to 12 months and to people who have not used Vibe or Le Chat before |
| Team | $24.99/user/month | Purchased on the web, not in-app |
| Enterprise | Quote required | Contact Mistral sales |
Mistral describes annual billing for Pro and Team as 20% below monthly billing. Prices and the exact checkout total vary by region and currency, and taxes such as VAT may be added, so always confirm the figure on Mistral's official pricing page before you pay.
Create your Coinepay virtual card
- Open the Coinepay app (iOS or Google Play) or the 24/7 web dashboard and sign in.
- Create a virtual card and note the card number, expiry date and CVV shown instantly.
- Top up the card so the balance covers the plan price plus tax, with a little headroom.
- Check the billing address recorded with your card so you can enter the same details at Mistral's checkout.
Subscribe on the web (Pro, Team and above)
- Sign in to your Mistral account in a browser.
- To upgrade, open Admin panel → Subscriptions → Compare plans and choose your plan.
- Select monthly or annual billing where offered.
- Review or edit the order and your billing details, then enter your Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV.
- Accept the terms and submit using "Pay Now" or its equivalent.
- Watch for a 3-D Secure confirmation step and approve it in your Coinepay app if prompted.
Mistral emails an order confirmation once the payment goes through. To manage an organization's card later, open Admin panel → Subscriptions → Billing → Payment methods; billing changes require an Admin or Billing Organization role.
Subscribe in the mobile app (Pro only)
In-app purchases are limited to Pro. In the Vibe app, tap Get Pro, pick monthly or annual billing, then confirm through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Those stores use the payment methods saved to your Apple or Google account rather than a card entered directly at Mistral, so adding a Coinepay card there follows Apple's or Google's own wallet steps. Team and higher plans must be bought on the web.
On Android, a Google Play purchase can stay pending until you open the app from the subscription entry. If it is not confirmed within three days, Google cancels and refunds it, so finish the confirmation promptly.
If your card is declined
One user reported Stripe returning a card_decline message while their bank showed no attempted transaction; the cause in that case was never confirmed. Declines usually come down to a handful of fixable things. Work through these before retrying:
Insufficient balance
The charge must cover the plan price plus any tax. Open the Coinepay app, check the card balance, and top up with a buffer for VAT or currency conversion before trying again.
Billing address mismatch
If the name, street, postal code or country at Mistral's checkout does not match what is on file for your card, the bank can reject it. Re-enter the billing details exactly as they appear in your Coinepay account.
3-D Secure not completed
Many online payments need a 3-D Secure confirmation. If you miss or dismiss the prompt, the payment fails. Keep the Coinepay app handy during checkout and approve the verification when it appears.
Merchant or region checks
Mistral applies sanctions and export-control screening, and a complete list of countries where paid checkout succeeds is not published. If checkout blocks your region, that is a merchant policy a card change will not override. Use your real country and billing details; never use a VPN or false address to get around a regional check.
Card type restrictions
Mistral's current billing and terms pages require an accepted payment method but do not publish which card brands or card types (debit, prepaid or virtual) work at web checkout. If a payment fails and the causes above are ruled out, the merchant may apply restrictions that are not documented. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you buy, and consider the App Store or Google Play route for Pro, which relies on your store wallet.
If repeated attempts fail with no charge on the Coinepay side, pause and contact support rather than retrying many times, which can trigger extra fraud checks.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancel a web subscription under Admin panel → Subscriptions → Subscription → Downgrade to Free → Unsubscribe. Cancel a store purchase through the App Store or Google Play instead. Mistral's help center says cancelling within 14 days of the initial web purchase takes effect immediately and triggers a refund, while later cancellation keeps access until the period ends with no refund for that period; the window does not restart on renewal. Refund rights differ by jurisdiction, so check the terms that apply to you. Approved refunds return to the original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days; for store purchases, Apple or Google handle the refund.
