Booking an easyJet flight usually means paying the full amount at checkout. This guide explains how to prepare a Coinepay virtual card, complete an easyJet booking and investigate a payment that does not go through. It also covers easyJet Plus, which is a separate annual membership rather than a flight fare.
What you need before booking
- A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Your virtual card provides a card number, expiry date and CVV. You can manage it in the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app.
- Your real traveller and billing details. Enter passenger names as required by easyJet and use your genuine billing information at payment. Do not substitute an address to try to pass a regional or payment check.
- Enough available funds. Review the entire checkout total, including any selected bags or seats, before paying. Check your available card balance and any applicable card settings in Coinepay.
- Time to complete authentication. An online card payment may prompt an additional bank authentication step. Keep the checkout open and follow the instructions shown if one appears.
Flight prices vary by route, date and availability. The amount due is the total easyJet shows before you confirm payment; check its official booking flow for the current price. Card services may not be available in every jurisdiction, so check availability in Coinepay before relying on the card for a time-sensitive booking.
How to pay for an easyJet flight
- Start on easyJet’s website or app. Search for your route and travel dates, then select the flights you want. easyJet describes a Standard fare in its public booking guidance. Do not confuse a flight fare with easyJet Plus membership.
- Review the booking. Enter each passenger’s details accurately. Choose any extras you want, such as bags or seats, and check the itinerary and total. easyJet normally requires payment for flights and extras in full when you book.
- Check the currency. While selecting flights, easyJet provides a “change currency” choice. Its flight-payment guidance lists GBP, EUR, CHF, DKK, CZK, HUF, PLN, MAD, SEK and USD. Review the displayed currency and final total before proceeding; check Coinepay for any card-related costs that may apply.
- Select card payment at checkout. If you have a card saved with easyJet, you may be able to select it at checkout; otherwise, enter the Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV shown in your dashboard or app. Supply your real billing details and review them for typing errors. Follow any authentication prompt rather than closing the page midway through payment.
- Confirm and retain the booking details. After a successful website or app booking, easyJet sends a booking-confirmation email. Check that the itinerary, passenger names and payment information are correct. If you do not see a confirmation, check your bookings and email before attempting to pay again.
easyJet lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Diners Club, Discover, UATP, SEPA direct debit and Apple Pay among its methods for flight bookings and extras. That list does not establish whether a particular virtual card will be accepted. Use the payment choices presented for your booking and ask Coinepay support if you need help checking your card details before purchase.
Where to check or manage an easyJet payment
For a flight you have booked, go to View Bookings, select the booking, then open Payment Details. easyJet places booking-specific payment details, payment-confirmation requests and VAT-invoice requests there. Saved-card selection may also be available in Manage Bookings. Review the booking status before retrying a payment: an email can arrive separately from the checkout response, and you do not want to create an unintended second booking.
Flight fares are generally non-refundable. Under easyJet’s stated policy, cancelling the whole booking within 24 hours of purchase can produce a refund for the booking and bags or seats bought directly from easyJet, minus a cancellation fee. That cancellation option is unavailable less than two hours before the first flight. Check easyJet’s current cancellation terms and fees before making a change; a payment problem does not itself cancel a confirmed booking.
Paying for easyJet Plus instead
easyJet Plus is an annual membership, not a subscription required to buy a flight. To apply online, choose “Join easyJet Plus” on the easyJet Plus site and work through its account-type, account set-up, details and payment stages. Check the membership fee shown during application before entering your Coinepay virtual card details. After joining, use the membership number in your confirmation email when booking flights.
Individual easyJet Plus memberships renew automatically each year, with the renewal charged to the most recently used joining or renewal credit or debit card. On the Plus website, members can use My Account to opt out of the next automatic renewal at least five days before expiry. Its terms describe cancellation by phone within 14 days of an initial purchase or renewal for a refund less benefits used; later full or partial refunds are generally unavailable. Business Plus memberships do not auto-renew and are non-refundable, with no cooling-off period.
Do not assume every payment option listed for easyJet flights is offered for Plus membership: check the Plus application’s own payment screen. Likewise, Inclusive and Inclusive Plus business fares are sold through approved travel-trade channels, not on easyjet.com or its app. They are flight products, not alternative names for easyJet Plus.
Why a card payment may be declined
A failed checkout does not, by itself, identify the cause. Work through the checks below before retrying, and verify whether easyJet created a booking or membership application first.
- Insufficient available balance: Compare the funds available on your Coinepay card with the full amount shown at checkout, including selected extras. If necessary, check how to fund or manage your card in the Coinepay app. Do not assume the initial flight price is the final charge.
- Billing details do not match: Recheck the name, address and other information you entered. Correct typing mistakes using your genuine details; do not use an invented address or another person’s identity to make a payment pass.
- Authentication was not completed: easyJet notes that an online payment may require bank authentication. If a challenge appeared, follow its instructions and check whether it timed out or was cancelled. If you cannot complete a required step, contact Coinepay support rather than repeatedly submitting the same payment.
- Merchant or regional checks: A payment may be subject to easyJet’s checkout checks or restrictions tied to the transaction. Check that you are using the appropriate booking channel and your real location and billing information. Contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets any stated card requirement before you buy; easyJet must resolve questions about a booking it has blocked.
- A different payment issue: Some Plus applicants have reported messages such as “Payment Error!” or that payment “hadn’t been authorised.” These user-reported messages are not diagnoses. Note the exact message, check for a confirmation and ask the relevant support team to investigate rather than guessing why it appeared.
easyJet advises trying another card or contacting the bank if an online payment fails, then contacting easyJet if the issue persists. For a Coinepay card, start with the information in your dashboard or app and contact Coinepay support about the card. Give easyJet the booking or application details and the exact error if the problem appears to be at its checkout. Never send your full card number or CVV in an ordinary support message.
