To send money from abroad to someone who uses MobiKwik, first check whether MobiKwik appears as a payout option for your transfer in Coinepay Global Remittance. MobiKwik Wallet is an Indian rupee (INR) wallet used in India, but the availability of a direct international payout to it is not confirmed. The steps below explain what to check before you confirm a transfer and how to follow up if something goes wrong.
Before you start: confirm the payout route
MobiKwik calls its INR-denominated wallet the MobiKwik Wallet. Its terms use Wallet-to-Wallet Transfer for a transfer between two MobiKwik Wallets. That is different from Pocket UPI, which lets a MobiKwik user pay from wallet balance through UPI to a mobile-number contact, UPI ID or QR code. A Pocket UPI payment does not necessarily deposit into another MobiKwik Wallet.
These distinctions matter when sending from overseas. Neither a domestic Wallet-to-Wallet Transfer nor a Pocket UPI payment establishes that an international remittance can be paid into a MobiKwik Wallet. In the Coinepay app, choose India as the destination and check the payout methods actually offered for that transfer. Select MobiKwik only if the app explicitly offers it as a wallet payout. Do not select a generic mobile-wallet option or enter a UPI ID on the assumption that it will reach a MobiKwik Wallet.
If MobiKwik is not listed, do not confirm a transfer intended for that wallet. Ask the recipient whether another payout method shown in the app, such as bank account deposit or an eligible mobile-wallet option, would meet their needs. You can also contact Coinepay support to ask about the available route for your destination and recipient.
What to get from the recipient
Before entering any payment details, ask the recipient to check their MobiKwik account and send you:
- The mobile number registered with their MobiKwik account, or an account identifier if the Coinepay payout form specifically requests one. Do not assume that any number associated with a UPI payment identifies the recipient’s MobiKwik Wallet.
- Their full name exactly as registered with the account. Ask them to check spelling and name order rather than relying on a nickname or a saved contact name.
- Confirmation that the wallet is active and that they have checked its current verification status and ability to receive the intended payment in their MobiKwik app.
Use the field labels and validation instructions displayed by Coinepay for the payout route you select. An exact phone-number format for a MobiKwik payout is not established by MobiKwik’s public Pocket UPI instructions, so do not change a number’s format by guesswork. Confirm any unclear account detail with the recipient or Coinepay support before proceeding. Never ask the recipient for their MobiKwik password, one-time passcode or PIN.
How to set up the transfer in Coinepay
- Sign in and start a transfer. Open the Coinepay iOS app, Coinepay Android app or self-service dashboard. If you are new to Coinepay, register and complete any identity verification requested for your transfer.
- Choose India as the destination. Check the available payout methods for the destination and transfer details you have entered. Do not assume a method shown for another country or transfer will be available here.
- Choose MobiKwik only if it is explicitly offered. If the app offers a MobiKwik wallet payout, select that method. If it does not, stop and choose a different available method only after agreeing on it with the recipient.
- Enter the recipient’s details. Provide the registered mobile number or account ID requested by the form, and the recipient’s full registered name. Compare the entered details with what the recipient supplied.
- Review before confirming. Check the payout method, recipient details and amount the recipient is expected to receive. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm. Review those figures in the app rather than relying on an earlier estimate.
- Confirm and track. Confirm only when the details are correct. Use the transfer’s status tracking in Coinepay and keep its reference information in case you need help.
Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and applicable local regulations. Coinepay may ask for documents about the purpose of the payment or source of funds. Provide accurate information through the requested channel; do not use another person’s identity or account to bypass a check.
How the recipient can check for the money
If Coinepay offers and completes a direct MobiKwik wallet payout, ask the recipient to open their MobiKwik app and check their wallet balance and transaction history for an incoming credit. They should compare the amount and transaction details with the information you share. A notification can be useful, but the recipient should verify the entry in the app rather than relying on a message alone.
If the Coinepay transfer shows a status other than completed, do not assume the wallet has been credited. If it shows completed but the recipient cannot find the money, ask them to check that they are signed in to the account associated with the details entered for the transfer. Share the transfer reference with Coinepay support for investigation. The recipient can also raise a ticket through Help & Support in the MobiKwik app if their account needs checking.
Wallet verification, capacity and activity
MobiKwik distinguishes between a Minimum KYC Wallet and a Full KYC Wallet. The minimum-details registration includes a mobile number verified by a one-time passcode, and MobiKwik describes a video-KYC route to full verification. A Minimum KYC Wallet cannot transfer money to another wallet or bank account; a Full KYC Wallet permits money transfers, subject to applicable rules. These are MobiKwik wallet rules, not confirmation that either wallet type is eligible to receive an international remittance.
Wallet balance and transfer restrictions also differ by verification level and may be affected by issuer controls. The recipient should check their current status and available capacity in MobiKwik before you send; do not assume that a successfully entered amount can be accepted. MobiKwik also says a wallet can become inactive after a year without a wallet financial transaction and directs users to customer care for reactivation. If the recipient’s wallet is inactive, have them resolve that with MobiKwik before attempting delivery.
Troubleshooting a transfer to MobiKwik
Wrong number or account detail
If you notice an error before confirming, correct it first. If you have already confirmed, contact Coinepay support promptly with the transfer reference and the correct details. Do not send a replacement transfer until you understand what happened to the first one. MobiKwik’s policy places responsibility for incorrect beneficiary details on the sender and does not promise a reversal merely because the wrong recipient or amount was chosen.
Name mismatch
Ask the recipient to verify their full registered name in MobiKwik. Compare it with the name entered in Coinepay, including spelling and order. If the transfer is already under review, give support the reference and follow its instructions; do not substitute someone else’s details to make the entry match.
Wallet capacity reached or verification incomplete
Ask the recipient to check their wallet status, verification level and available capacity in MobiKwik. An unverified, restricted or inactive wallet may require action by the recipient through MobiKwik before it can be used as intended. If a payout is declined, consult the status shown in Coinepay and contact support about that specific transfer rather than repeatedly resubmitting it.
Compliance review or money not visible
Follow any document request shown by Coinepay and monitor the transfer status. If the status says completed but no credit appears in the recipient’s MobiKwik transaction history, contact Coinepay support with the reference; the recipient can contact MobiKwik through in-app Help & Support. Do not treat domestic MobiKwik wallet-transfer or UPI reversal rules as a promised timeline for an international remittance, because the applicable process depends on the payout route.
Coinepay Global Remittance can send to countries and regions other than those under comprehensive sanctions, subject to screening and local rules. For this particular task, the decisive check remains the payout choice displayed before confirmation: if MobiKwik is not offered, an overseas transfer to a MobiKwik Wallet should not be assumed available.

FAQ
Can I send money from abroad directly to a MobiKwik Wallet?
Direct international MobiKwik wallet payout availability is not confirmed. Choose India in Coinepay and proceed only if MobiKwik is explicitly offered as a payout method for your transfer.
What details should I request from a MobiKwik recipient?
Ask for their MobiKwik-registered mobile number, or an account ID if the payout form requests it, and their full name exactly as registered. Check the form’s instructions before confirming.
Is Pocket UPI the same as a direct MobiKwik wallet payout?
No. Pocket UPI uses MobiKwik Wallet balance to make a UPI payment; it does not necessarily send money directly to another MobiKwik Wallet.
What if Coinepay shows the transfer as completed but the recipient sees no credit?
Ask the recipient to check the correct MobiKwik account and its transaction history. Then contact Coinepay support with the transfer reference; the recipient can also raise a ticket through MobiKwik’s in-app Help & Support.
