If someone in Mali asks you to send money to a Mobicash account, first confirm what they mean: Moov Africa Malitel now calls its former Mobicash service Moov Money. This guide explains how to check for a Moov Money wallet payout in Coinepay Global Remittance, enter the recipient’s details, review the transfer and follow up if the money does not appear. Wallet payout availability must be checked in the Coinepay app before you send.
Check the destination and wallet with your recipient
This article concerns Moov Money in Mali, not similarly named services in other countries. Mali uses the West African CFA franc (FCFA, currency code XOF). Ask the recipient to confirm that their account is a Mali Moov Money wallet and that it is active and able to receive a payment. Do not assume that any transfer addressed to a Malian phone number will credit a Moov Money wallet.
Ask for the recipient’s full name exactly as registered on the wallet and the registered phone number. If the payout form requests a wallet account ID instead, ask the recipient for the ID associated with their account; do not substitute a different number. Mali’s country code is +223, followed by an eight-digit national telephone number. Confirm both the digits and the wallet provider directly with the recipient before entering them.
The recipient should also check their wallet status. Moov Africa says eligible subscribers can register for Moov Money at a Moov Money point using an accepted identity document, such as a national identity card, NINA card, passport or driving licence. If the recipient has not completed the identification needed for their account, ask them to resolve that with Moov Money before you rely on the wallet for a payout.
Before you start in Coinepay
Sign in to the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard. If you are new, register for Coinepay and complete any identity verification requested for the service you intend to use. Have the recipient’s confirmed name and wallet number or account ID ready, along with the amount you want to send.
Coinepay supports cross-border transfers with mobile wallet payouts, but the available providers and payout choices for a particular transfer are shown during setup. Check that Mali and Moov Money appear for your transaction. If the app offers only another payout method, such as a bank deposit or cash pickup, do not select it expecting the money to appear in the recipient’s wallet. Ask the recipient whether they can use that method, or contact Coinepay support about the wallet payout you need.
How to send to a Mali Moov Money wallet
- Start a cross-border transfer. In Coinepay Global Remittance, enter the amount you want to send and select Mali as the destination. Follow the prompts for any additional information the app requests.
- Select the payout method. Choose mobile wallet, then select Moov Money if it is listed. Moov Money is the current name of the Mali service formerly known as Mobicash. If you cannot find it, stop rather than choosing a similarly named wallet from another country.
- Enter recipient details. Supply the registered Malian phone number or wallet account ID, as requested by the form, and the recipient’s full registered name. Check the country code, every digit and the spelling against information the recipient provided.
- Review the transfer. Check the destination, payout method, recipient details and amount. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm. Read the displayed details and any estimated arrival time; the terms shown for your transaction are the ones to review before proceeding.
- Confirm and keep the reference. Submit the transfer only when the details are correct. Save the transaction reference and any confirmation for your records. If Coinepay requests further information or documents, respond through its stated process rather than starting a duplicate transfer.
- Track its status. Open the transfer in Coinepay’s app or dashboard to follow its status. A submitted transfer and a wallet credit are not the same event, so ask the recipient to check their Moov Money account if the status indicates delivery.
Transfers can arrive in as little as 10 minutes, but the actual delivery time depends on the payout method and destination country. Use the estimated arrival time shown in the app before confirmation and the transfer’s status afterward rather than assuming a fixed time for a Mali wallet payout.
How the recipient checks for the money
Once a wallet payout is completed, the recipient should check their Moov Money balance and transaction history for the incoming credit. They may use their usual Moov Money access method, including My Moov if they use that app. A notification may help them spot activity, but they should verify the credit in their account rather than relying only on a message.
Moov Africa’s published *166# transfer menu describes how a customer sends money from within its service; it is not a code the recipient must dial to accept your Coinepay transfer. The recipient should never share a wallet PIN or security code with you or anyone claiming it is needed to release an incoming payment.
Receiving a wallet credit is also different from withdrawing cash. If the recipient wants physical cash, they should check Moov Money’s current withdrawal process and terms for authorised distributors separately.
Wallet verification and balance restrictions
Moov Money accounts are subject to identification rules and wallet ceilings. In general, an account that has not completed the required identification may face tighter restrictions than an identified account. An identified customer’s wallet holdings and cumulative reloads are also subject to applicable ceilings. These are not interchangeable with a per-transfer limit: a recipient might be unable to receive a payment because of their current balance or account status even when the amount looks acceptable to the sender.
Ask the recipient to check their account’s verification level and available receiving capacity with Moov Money before you send a large payment. Rules can change, and the wallet provider can explain what applies to that specific account. Do not try to work around a restriction by dividing a payment or sending it through someone else’s wallet.
If the transfer fails or the credit is missing
- Wrong phone number or account ID: Compare the entered details with the recipient’s registered wallet information. If you already confirmed the transfer, contact Coinepay support promptly with the transaction reference. Do not assume a mistaken payment can be reversed.
- Name mismatch: Ask the recipient for the full name exactly as registered, including the correct order and spelling. If a submitted transfer is held or rejected, follow the instructions shown in Coinepay rather than repeatedly submitting it.
- Wallet limit reached: Have the recipient ask Moov Money whether their current balance or account restrictions prevent the credit. Wait for guidance from the provider and Coinepay before choosing another payout method.
- Unverified wallet: The recipient may need to complete Moov Money’s identification process. They should contact Moov Money or visit a registration point to learn which documents are required for their account.
- Compliance review: Cross-border transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may request documents about the purpose of the transfer or source of funds. Provide accurate information through the requested channel and monitor the transfer status.
If Coinepay shows the transfer as delivered but the recipient cannot find the credit, ask them to review their Moov Money transaction history and raise a missing-credit enquiry with Moov Money. Moov Africa lists 6700 for customer service. Keep the transaction reference, transfer details and relevant records available when contacting either provider. A status check or complaint does not guarantee a reversal or a particular resolution time.

FAQ
Are Mobicash and Moov Money the same service in Mali?
Moov Africa Malitel describes Mali’s Moov Money as formerly Mobicash. Confirm the recipient uses that Mali wallet, not a similarly named service elsewhere.
What recipient details do I need?
Ask for the full name exactly as registered and the registered Malian phone number, or the wallet account ID if Coinepay’s payout form requests it. Confirm the wallet provider before sending.
What if Moov Money is not listed as a payout option?
Do not select another provider expecting a Moov Money credit. Check the options shown for your transfer in the Coinepay app or contact Coinepay support.
What should I do if Coinepay says delivered but the wallet shows no credit?
Ask the recipient to check their Moov Money balance and transaction history. Keep the transfer reference and contact Coinepay support and Moov Money customer service if the credit is still missing.
