AT&T International Day Pass® is an add-on to an eligible AT&T postpaid wireless plan, not a travel pass you buy in a separate checkout. You add it to an eligible line, qualifying use abroad creates charges, and you pay those charges on your AT&T bill. Here is how to set it up and attempt a bill payment with a Coinepay virtual card.

Before you start

Check that your AT&T line has an eligible domestic postpaid plan and a compatible smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The consumer International Day Pass is not an add-on for AT&T PREPAID or business and government accounts. AT&T International Day Pass™ for Business is a separate offering with different pricing rules.

Confirm that your destination, flight, or ship is on AT&T’s current International Day Pass coverage list before traveling. AT&T lists more than 210 destinations, selected enabled international flights, and more than 400 included ships, but coverage and lists can change. Also check your domestic plan: some plans already include use in Mexico, Canada, or specified Latin American countries. AT&T Elite 2.0 includes roaming in more than 210 destinations under the domestic plan, rather than charging an International Day Pass fee for that included use.

To prepare a Coinepay card, register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. You can manage the card in the Coinepay app or 24/7 self-service dashboard. Once issued, its card number, expiry date, and CVV are available instantly. Check the app for your card’s available balance and applicable details before attempting payment. Use your real identity and accurate billing information on both accounts.

Understand when AT&T charges you

Adding International Day Pass does not trigger a prepaid checkout or start a daily charge. In a covered location, the first qualifying data use, text you send, or call you make or receive starts a 24-hour period. Receiving texts alone does not start a daily fee. The resulting charges appear on your AT&T bill at the end of the billing cycle, so the card-payment step comes later.

At the time of writing (October 2026), the consumer land-and-air rate is $12 per line for each 24-hour period of qualifying use. Each additional line used on the same account on the same calendar day is $6. For included destinations, AT&T charges no more than 10 daily fees per line per monthly bill cycle; that cap does not apply at sea. The consumer at-sea rate is $20 per line per 24-hour period of qualifying use, including land use that day, without the additional-line discount or 10-day cap. Check AT&T’s official International Day Pass terms for current prices and conditions before you travel.

Step 1: Add International Day Pass to your AT&T line

  1. Sign in to your AT&T account.
  2. Go to My wireless → Explore Other Add-Ons → Travel Outside the U.S. → Add to Device.
  3. Select the eligible device or line, review the displayed details, and follow AT&T’s prompts to add the feature.
  4. Check your account to confirm the feature is on the intended line before you travel.

AT&T says it may also add the feature automatically to an eligible roaming line and notify you by text. If you receive that notice, review it and your account rather than assuming you need to add the feature again. Adding the feature is not the point at which you enter your Coinepay card to buy a day of service.

Step 2: Review your bill, then attempt payment with your card

After qualifying use, review your AT&T bill for the International Day Pass charges and the amount due. To make a one-time payment, open AT&T’s payment center, sign in, choose the bill, select Make a payment, and follow the prompts. AT&T also offers a payment-without-sign-in route using an account number or active AT&T number and ZIP Code.

  1. At the bill-payment step, choose the card-payment option if AT&T offers it for your transaction.
  2. Enter the Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV shown in your dashboard or app. Enter the accurate billing details requested by AT&T; do not use a made-up address to try to pass a check.
  3. Review the amount and payment details, then submit the payment through AT&T. Wait for AT&T’s confirmation and check the bill or payment history before trying again.

AT&T lists debit and credit cards among its online bill-payment options and lists Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club as accepted card networks. Those lists do not establish whether a particular Coinepay card will be accepted. Check the details available in your Coinepay app and contact Coinepay support if you need to confirm that your card meets a payment requirement before you pay.

Stored cards and AutoPay are separate settings

If you want to manage a card saved with AT&T, look for Add or manage stored payment methods. To change the card used for recurring bill payments, use AutoPay’s separate Change payment method setting. Saving a card does not, by itself, establish that AutoPay has switched to it. Review the selected method and the next bill rather than assuming an International Day Pass charge was paid when you added the feature.

If AT&T declines the card payment

A decline during bill payment is not necessarily an International Day Pass problem. AT&T identifies declined charges, including insufficient funds, as possible payment failures, but there is no confirmed International Day Pass-specific card-error message to look for. Use the reason shown in your payment flow, if any, and work through these checks:

  • Insufficient available balance: Compare the full bill-payment amount—not just one day’s International Day Pass rate—with the balance shown in Coinepay. Your bill may include your regular wireless charges, taxes, and multiple days or lines. If needed, arrange sufficient funds using the options available in your account before retrying.
  • Billing-detail mismatch: Check the card number, expiry date, CVV, name, and billing details you entered. Correct genuine typos and use your real billing information. If AT&T needs billing details you cannot verify, ask support rather than guessing.
  • Authentication or 3-D Secure: If an authentication prompt appears, complete it as directed. If it times out or fails, return to AT&T to check whether a payment was recorded before submitting another attempt. Contact Coinepay support if the issue appears to involve card authentication; do not assume every AT&T payment uses the same verification flow.
  • Merchant or region checks: AT&T may apply eligibility or payment checks. Confirm that your AT&T account and line are eligible and that the payment information accurately reflects your circumstances. If AT&T says a card type or issuing region is not permitted, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets that requirement before you try again. Do not change your address or location details to bypass a restriction.

If AT&T shows no successful payment after you check your account, contact AT&T about the bill-payment attempt. For a card-side decline, contact Coinepay support with the attempted amount, time, and any error shown, without sending your full card number or CVV in a message.

Manage the add-on and check unexpected charges

The consumer add-on remains on a line until you remove it through myAT&T or by calling AT&T at 833-669-2516. If AT&T automatically added it and sent the relevant notice, you can text NO to 8048 to remove it. Removing International Day Pass does not make later roaming free: standard international rates may apply. Check your roaming settings and AT&T’s terms before further use.

If a daily fee looks wrong, first compare your bill with the dates, lines, location, and qualifying usage. AT&T’s general agreement says to notify customer service or submit a Notice of Dispute about a bill charge within 180 days of its bill date. That is not a promise of a refund; raise the specific charge with AT&T for review. If the issue is a Coinepay card transaction rather than how AT&T calculated your wireless bill, contact Coinepay support as well.

FAQ

Can I buy AT&T International Day Pass directly with my Coinepay card?

No separate prepaid checkout is involved. Add the feature to an eligible AT&T postpaid line; qualifying use creates charges on your AT&T bill, which you can then attempt to pay by card.

Does adding International Day Pass immediately start a daily fee?

No. A 24-hour period starts with qualifying data use, a sent text, or a made or received call in covered locations. Receiving texts alone does not trigger the fee.

Why was my Coinepay card declined when paying my AT&T bill?

Check the full amount against your available balance, verify your real billing details, complete any authentication prompt, and review any eligibility or card requirement AT&T shows. Contact AT&T for the bill-payment status and Coinepay support for a card-side issue.

Will changing my stored AT&T card also change AutoPay?

Not necessarily. AT&T manages stored cards under Add or manage stored payment methods; AutoPay has a separate Change payment method setting. Check both before relying on a new card.
