Printful is a print-on-demand and dropshipping platform where you design products, connect a store, and let Printful fulfill and ship orders. There are two sides to paying: the optional Growth subscription, and the per-order fulfillment charges you cover from your account. This guide shows how to set up a Coinepay virtual card as a Printful billing method, walk through checkout, and troubleshoot a declined card.
What you need before you start
- A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) complete. You can register here or manage everything from the iOS app or Android app.
- A Coinepay virtual card with its number, expiry date and CVV, which appear instantly in the app.
- Enough balance on the card for the charge you expect, plus your real billing details (name and billing address) that match your Coinepay profile.
- A Printful account. If you registered Printful through Shopify, note that Shopify handles Growth subscription payments, so you would manage that card inside Shopify rather than Printful.
Coinepay card services require registration and KYC, and card issuance is handled by licensed partner financial institutions. Some services are not available in every jurisdiction, and virtual-asset services are not available to residents of mainland China.
Printful plans and what you are paying for
The self-service tiers are Printful Free and Printful Growth, with Enterprise quoted separately. Printful Free is USD $0/month with no subscription fee, but fulfillment orders are billed separately. At the time of writing (October 2026), Printful Growth is listed at USD $24.99 per 30-day billing cycle with a 14-day trial, and other currency prices such as GBP 19.99, EUR 24.99, AUD 39.99 and CAD 34.99 are published; Printful says these listed prices include taxes. Prices and plan names change, so confirm current figures on Printful's official pricing page before you subscribe.
Since January 15, 2025, Growth has been Printful's only paid self-service plan; the older Pro and Plus tiers were discontinued back on April 12, 2023 and are not current options.
Step 1: Add your Coinepay card to Printful
Account payment methods live at Dashboard → Billing → Billing methods, where you can add a card and set a primary method. Different connected stores can use different billing methods, so check which store you are editing.
- Open your Coinepay app and copy the virtual card number, expiry date and CVV.
- In Printful, go to Dashboard → Billing → Billing methods and choose to add a card.
- Enter the card details and your real billing name and address exactly as held by Coinepay.
- Save, and set it as the primary method if you want Printful to use it by default.
Step 2: Fund fulfillment orders
Printful creates a Printful Wallet for every account at sign-up, found at Dashboard → Billing → Printful Wallet. You can top the Wallet up and let it cover order charges, or let Printful charge your card directly. In an integrated store the buyer pays you through your storefront, and Printful separately bills you for fulfillment. Quick Stores are the exception: Printful processes buyer payments through Stripe, and that option requires a US-resident merchant with US tax residence and buyers with US shipping addresses.
Step 3: Subscribe to Growth (if you want it)
Growth enrollment is manual. Go to Dashboard → Printful plans to activate it; an activation route is also listed under Dashboard → Billing → Discounts. Importantly, buying Growth requires adding a billing method for that subscription specifically—Printful says it does not simply charge your existing fulfillment billing method. So add your Coinepay card again at the subscription step if prompted.
Growth renews automatically after the trial and after each 30-day paid cycle unless you cancel. Free trials are limited to one per customer account. Make sure your Coinepay card has balance before each renewal date.
Step 4: Pay for a manual order
For a manual order you select products and shipping, then use the review and pay screen to choose a displayed payment option and submit. Checkout may list Printful Wallet, PayPal, PayPal Pay Later, Venmo, credit/debit card, and Klarna, but the exact options depend on your country and browser, so not every method appears everywhere. Choose the card option to use your Coinepay virtual card, or Printful Wallet if you pre-funded it.
Troubleshooting a declined card
Printful notes that it cannot see your bank's reason for an individual card decline, so work through the common causes below. Printful's own help pages list insufficient card or Wallet funds, bank daily limits, fraud blocks—especially on non-US cards—and an incorrect card number or expiration date as typical failure reasons.
Insufficient balance
Confirm your Coinepay card has enough balance for the full charge, including taxes shown at checkout. Top up in the Coinepay app and retry. If you are paying order costs from the Printful Wallet, make sure the Wallet itself is funded.
Billing address mismatch
Printful and PayPal both report address-related failures, including a PayPal "Address Verification Failure". Enter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Coinepay profile. A mismatch between the address Printful has and the one tied to your card is a frequent cause of declines.
3-D Secure and fraud blocks
Some charges trigger an extra verification step or a bank fraud block, which Printful flags as common on non-US cards. Keep the Coinepay app open to approve any confirmation prompt, and check the app for any notification about the attempt.
Processor or network errors
If you see "Processor Network Unavailable" or "PayPal pending payments are not supported," wait a short time and try again, or switch to a different listed payment option. These messages point to the payment route rather than your card specifically.
Wrong card details
Re-enter the card number, expiry and CVV from the Coinepay app carefully; a single mistyped digit will cause a decline.
Printful says a failed order does not resume fulfillment automatically after you fix the payment issue—you need to resubmit. A failed subscription charge is retried after 48 hours, and if that retry also fails the subscription is canceled.
Some merchants restrict which card types or issuing countries they accept, and Printful does not publish a confirmed country-by-country list of where Growth can be purchased or which checkout methods work in each location. If a charge keeps failing and you have ruled out the causes above, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card is suitable for this payment before you try again. Reach the team via the support page or Telegram.
Refunds and cancellations to know
- Growth: cancel in Dashboard → Printful plans. Canceling a paid cycle gives no refund for unused time, but benefits continue through that cycle.
- Fulfillment orders: you can cancel for a full refund while the status is "Waiting for fulfillment"; once it is "Being fulfilled," dashboard cancellation and a cancellation refund are no longer available.
- Problems: damaged, misprinted, defective, wrong or missing items must generally be reported within 30 days of delivery (or estimated delivery for a missing order). Approved merchant refunds go to your Printful Wallet.
Keep your Coinepay card funded ahead of renewals, use your real billing details, and you will avoid the most common Printful payment problems. For anything about your card itself, use the Coinepay app or visit Coinepay.

FAQ
Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for both Growth and fulfillment orders?
Yes. Add your card at Dashboard → Billing → Billing methods for fulfillment charges, and add a billing method again at the Growth subscription step, since Printful does not automatically charge your fulfillment method for the subscription. Make sure the card has enough balance before each charge.
How much does Printful Growth cost?
At the time of writing (October 2026) Printful lists Growth at USD $24.99 per 30-day billing cycle with a 14-day trial, and different prices in other currencies that include taxes. Printful Free is $0/month. Prices change, so check Printful's official pricing page for current figures.
Why was my Coinepay card declined at Printful checkout?
Common causes Printful lists are insufficient card or Wallet funds, bank daily limits, fraud blocks (especially on non-US cards), a billing address mismatch, or a mistyped card number or expiry. Printful cannot see your bank's exact reason. Check your balance and details in the Coinepay app, then retry.
Does Printful charge the subscription automatically if a payment fails?
A failed subscription charge is retried after 48 hours, and if that retry also fails the subscription is canceled. A failed fulfillment order does not resume automatically after you fix the payment, so you will need to resubmit it.
I registered Printful through Shopify. Where do I add my card?
If your Printful account was created via Shopify, Shopify handles Growth subscription payments, so you manage that payment method inside Shopify rather than in Printful's billing settings.
