MYOB Business is accounting and payroll software for small and medium businesses in Australia and New Zealand. If you want to pay for your subscription with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through what you need, how the MYOB sign-up and billing flow works, and how to troubleshoot the most common reasons a card is declined.
What you need before you start
A few things make checkout smoother and reduce the chance of a decline:
- A verified Coinepay account. Register and complete identity verification (KYC) first, then create a virtual card. You can do this from the Coinepay dashboard or the mobile app on iOS and Google Play. Your card number, expiry date and CVV appear instantly once the card is issued.
- Enough balance on the card to cover the first charge plus any applicable tax. MYOB's Australian terms say GST is added to fees that are not stated to be inclusive, so the amount you are charged may be higher than the headline price.
- Your real business billing details. Use the legal name and address registered to your business and matching your Coinepay account. Do not use fake details or attempt to bypass regional checks.
- The right region. MYOB publishes separate Australia and New Zealand offers; a business registered in New Zealand contracts with MYOB NZ, otherwise MYOB Australia applies. Availability outside those two markets is not something we can confirm here.
Plans and pricing
MYOB Business tiers include MYOB Business Lite, MYOB Business Pro, MYOB Business AccountRight Plus, MYOB Business AccountRight Premier and MYOB Business Payroll Only. (Solo by MYOB is listed separately, not as a MYOB Business tier.) AccountRight desktop features require Windows software.
At the time of writing (October 2026), MYOB's Australian pricing page showed figures such as Lite at AUD $94.50 for the first year on the displayed annual offer (AUD $315/year thereafter), Pro at AUD $21/month for six months after a 14-day trial (AUD $70/month thereafter), AccountRight Plus at AUD $66/month for three months then AUD $165/month, AccountRight Premier at AUD $84/month for three months then AUD $210/month, and Payroll Only at AUD $2/month for three months then AUD $15/month. New Zealand prices are shown separately and are quoted plus GST. Offers change often, so always confirm the current plan and the final charged amount on MYOB's official pricing page before you pay.
Note that trials roll into a paid subscription unless you cancel. When you provide payment details you may be authorising charges after the trial ends.
Step-by-step: subscribing to MYOB Business
- Create and fund your Coinepay card. In the Coinepay app or dashboard, issue a virtual card and make sure it holds enough balance for the first payment plus tax.
- Open the correct regional pricing page. Go to MYOB's Australia or New Zealand pricing page depending on where your business is registered.
- Choose your plan. Select the MYOB Business tier that fits your needs and use its Buy now or Try FREE action.
- Create your MYOB account. Sign up with your business email and details, then log in for the guided setup.
- Enter your card details at checkout. Type the Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as shown in your Coinepay app. MYOB documents credit cards, debit cards and bank-account direct debit as subscription payment methods.
- Match the billing address. Use the billing address associated with your business and consistent with your Coinepay account.
- Complete any verification. If a 3-D Secure or one-time passcode step appears, approve it through the method linked to your Coinepay account.
- Confirm and review. Check the total, including any GST, before you confirm. Keep the confirmation for your records.
Managing your subscription and payment method
After purchase, billing is handled in My Account. Sign in at myaccount.myob.com and use:
- Manage my product → Manage subscription to change plans.
- View my bills to see invoices.
- View payment details → Update payment details to change the saved card. Primary or billing-contact access is required to change payment details.
Saved payments recur automatically, and if an invoice goes unpaid you can pay it manually from the same area.
Troubleshooting a declined card
MYOB's own guidance points to a handful of common causes. One customer reported the message "unfortunately your payment could not be processed. Please check the details and try again", which MYOB staff attributed to a bank decline. A MYOB moderator also reported a rise in subscription declines linked to invalid expiry dates stored in its system. Work through the checks below.
Insufficient balance
MYOB lists insufficient funds as a leading cause of failed subscription payments. Open the Coinepay app and confirm your card balance covers the full charge plus GST, then top up if needed and retry.
Outdated or mistyped card details
Re-enter the card number, expiry date and CVV carefully. Given the reports about invalid expiry dates, double-check the expiry matches your Coinepay card exactly. If your old card expired or was replaced, add the new card under View payment details → Update payment details.
Billing address mismatch
If the billing address at checkout does not match what your card provider expects, the payment can be rejected. Make sure the address you enter is consistent with your Coinepay account details.
3-D Secure / authentication
If a verification prompt appears and is not completed, the charge fails. Make sure notifications are enabled in your Coinepay app so you can approve the step promptly, then try again.
Merchant or region checks
MYOB structures subscriptions around Australian and New Zealand businesses, so make sure you are on the correct regional page and using details that match your registered business. Some merchants also restrict certain card types. Coinepay does not publish which bank or network issues your card, and we cannot confirm whether MYOB will accept any particular card. If a payment keeps failing and you suspect a card-type restriction, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card details before you buy, and contact MYOB to confirm its requirements.
If the saved card still will not process, MYOB directs the account contact to update the saved method or pay the outstanding bill manually, and to contact MYOB support if that does not resolve it.
Cancellation, refunds and timing
MYOB's Australian terms ask for notice at least 10 days before renewal for monthly or rolling 12-month subscriptions. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current period, and there is generally no refund or credit for a partial period except where stated exceptions or applicable law apply. Incorrect debits are refundable. Current Australian help instructions say the primary contact can request cancellation by calling 1300 940 281, while the terms also describe giving notice through My Account → My Products or support; because these routes are not fully consistent, confirm the current method with MYOB directly.
A note on invoice payments vs. subscription billing
Do not confuse paying for your MYOB subscription with MYOB's separate online invoice-payment service, which lets your customers pay you. The card brands and verification steps for that service (and the Australian fee change effective 1 October 2026 of 1.7% plus AUD $0.25 per transaction including GST) are not the same as the subscription checkout, so treat them separately.
Keep your card ready
Once your Coinepay card is saved in My Account, MYOB bills it automatically each cycle. Keep enough balance before each renewal date and update the saved card promptly if you ever reissue it, so your subscription stays active. For anything specific to your Coinepay card, check the app or reach the team on Telegram or through support.

FAQ
Can I use a Coinepay virtual card to pay for MYOB Business?
MYOB documents credit cards, debit cards and bank-account direct debit as subscription payment methods. Enter your Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV at checkout. Coinepay cannot confirm whether a specific merchant will accept any particular card, so if a payment fails, contact Coinepay support to check your card details and confirm MYOB's requirements.
Why was my card declined at MYOB checkout?
Common causes MYOB lists are insufficient funds and outdated or mistyped payment details, including invalid expiry dates. Also check that your billing address matches, complete any 3-D Secure prompt, and make sure you are on the correct Australian or New Zealand page. Top up your Coinepay balance and retry, or update the saved card in My Account.
Does MYOB Business charge a free trial to my card automatically?
MYOB's terms say a trial rolls into a paid subscription unless you cancel, and providing payment details can authorise charges after the trial ends. Set a reminder before the trial ends and keep enough balance on your Coinepay card if you intend to continue.
How do I update the card saved for my MYOB subscription?
Sign in at myaccount.myob.com and go to View payment details → Update payment details. You need primary or billing-contact access to change payment details. Saved payments recur automatically each cycle.
How much does MYOB Business cost?
At the time of writing (October 2026), examples on MYOB's Australian page included Lite at AUD $94.50 for the first year (then AUD $315/year) and Pro at AUD $21/month for six months (then AUD $70/month); New Zealand prices are shown separately plus GST. Offers change, so confirm the current price and the final charged amount on MYOB's official pricing page before you pay.
