GigSky sells travel eSIM data plans for destinations, cruises and other trips, plus an auto-renewing subscription called GigSky One. If a card payment option is available at your checkout, you can enter your Coinepay virtual card details. This guide covers what to check before buying, how GigSky’s checkout works and what to do if a payment is declined.
Before you start
- Check your device. GigSky requires an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked device. Compatibility can vary by model and the region where the device was sold. Confirm that your device supports eSIM before purchasing data for it.
- Choose coverage for the trip you are actually taking. Country and Regional plans may offer standard fixed-data or unlimited options. GigSky also offers Cruise-only, Cruise + Land, Ferry Only, Ferry + Europe, flight and offshore plans. Check the covered countries and, for a cruise, the supported ship. Cruise-only coverage does not include use on land.
- Decide whether you need a one-trip plan or a subscription. GigSky One is an auto-renewing subscription with 25GB, 50GB or 75GB of monthly high-speed data, followed by reduced-speed data. It covers 120+ supported countries but excludes cruises, offshore use and inflight use. Check the current price, coverage and billing terms in GigSky before subscribing.
- Prepare your Coinepay card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using its card services. Your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV are available when the card is issued. Check your available funds and any applicable card settings in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard before checkout.
- Use accurate account and billing information. Have your real name, country of residence and billing details ready. GigSky may check payment and regional eligibility; a virtual card does not bypass those checks.
You can register with Coinepay if you have not set up an account. For GigSky’s current plan prices, check its official pricing page or the price shown at checkout rather than relying on an older travel-data comparison.
How to pay for a GigSky plan
- Create or open your GigSky account. In the GigSky app or web app, sign up with your name, email, password and country of residence, then verify your email. Apple or Google sign-in may also be available. If you already have an account, sign in.
- Search for your destination. Review the available plans, including their data allowance, validity and coverage. For a cruise, distinguish Cruise-only from Cruise + Land. Cruise + Land offerings include Cruise + Europe, Cruise + Asia Pacific, Cruise + Americas / Caribbean, Cruise + Middle East and Cruise + World; confirm that your ship and itinerary are covered.
- Select the plan and device. GigSky’s purchase flow asks you to select a device before payment. Make sure you are choosing the eSIM-compatible, unlocked device on which you intend to install the plan.
- Choose the card payment option if offered. Payment methods vary by checkout location, device and platform. Where a supported card option appears, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV, along with your real billing details. Do not assume that every card will be accepted; the available methods and the result of any payment checks are determined at checkout.
- Review the order and select Buy Plan. Check the destination, coverage, data terms, displayed currency and total before confirming. Complete any authentication prompt your payment flow presents. GigSky provides eSIM installation steps after purchase.
GigSky lists supported credit or debit cards and, depending on the checkout, options such as PayPal, Apple Pay, cryptocurrency and GigSky Credit. Those alternatives do not establish whether a particular card will pass GigSky’s checks. If you have GigSky Credit, GigSky applies it automatically to eligible purchases and may let you pay a remaining amount with another available method.
How to pay for GigSky One and manage renewal
For an ongoing subscription, choose GigSky One rather than a one-trip plan. Compare the available 25GB, 50GB and 75GB monthly high-speed-data allowances and read the current price and renewal terms before you confirm payment. After its high-speed allowance is used, GigSky One continues at reduced speed. It is not the plan to choose for cruise, offshore or inflight coverage.
GigSky One renews automatically. To stop future renewal, go to My Plans → View Details → Cancel Subscription before the next renewal. Cancellation stops future billing, while service continues through the term you have already paid for. GigSky says subscription changes take effect in the next billing period, so review the details shown when you make a change.
If the currency shown is not what you expected, GigSky lists a billing-currency setting in the app and at app.gigsky.com: profile icon → Profile Details → Edit → Currency → Save. Its accepted-payment information lists USD, CAD, EUR, GBP, JPY and BRL. Review the final checkout amount after changing the setting; do not assume a particular currency will change whether a card is accepted.
If your Coinepay card is declined
First, check whether GigSky shows a card option for that checkout and whether you entered the card details correctly. GigSky identifies incorrect details, billing-address mismatch, insufficient funds, disabled online or international transactions, incomplete bank authentication, and issuer security checks as possible causes of a failed card payment. A decline does not, by itself, identify which one applies.
- Insufficient available funds: Compare the checkout total with the amount available for your Coinepay card. If you are unsure what is available or whether a card limit applies, check the Coinepay app or contact Coinepay support. For a subscription, consider future renewals as well as the first payment.
- Billing-address mismatch: Re-enter your real billing name and address accurately. Check the details associated with your card in Coinepay and use truthful information that corresponds to your account. Do not enter an address in a different region merely to try to pass checkout.
- 3-D Secure or another authentication prompt: If checkout asks you to authenticate, follow the prompt and complete it before returning to GigSky. If the prompt fails, expires or never appears, check for any action in the Coinepay app and contact Coinepay support. GigSky describes incomplete bank authentication as a possible decline cause; do not assume every checkout will present the same verification flow.
- Merchant or region checks: Confirm that your actual country of residence, plan and payment method are eligible in GigSky’s checkout. Availability may depend on location, platform or device. Do not use a different residence or billing address to get around a restriction. If you need to know whether your Coinepay card meets a checkout requirement, contact Coinepay support before buying.
- Online-payment or security block: Check any relevant card settings in Coinepay and ask support whether an issuer-side check affected the attempt. If Coinepay finds no card-side issue, contact GigSky about the checkout or account.
If repeated attempts fail, avoid submitting the same payment over and over without checking the cause. Note the time, amount and any message displayed, but do not send your full card number or CVV in a support message.
Find your purchase or request help afterward
GigSky places purchases under profile icon → Transaction History. If an eligible non-subscription purchase has a problem, open it and look for Request Refund. GigSky reviews requests case by case and may consider whether the plan was activated or used. An approved refund may go to the original payment method or GigSky Credit; approval is not automatic.
For GigSky One, do not treat cancellation as a refund request. GigSky’s subscription FAQ says purchases and early cancellations are not refundable, while its consumer terms describe limited discretionary consideration for minimally used service affected by service or connectivity issues and exclude elapsed subscription periods. Contact GigSky if you think those circumstances apply. For questions about the card or a declined transaction, use Coinepay support; for coverage, installation, subscription terms or refund eligibility, contact GigSky.
