Fandango offers movie tickets, paid FanClub memberships and individual streaming rentals or purchases. These are different checkouts: you do not need a streaming subscription to rent a title, and the free FanRewards program is not a FanClub membership. This guide explains how to enter a Coinepay virtual card, review the charge and troubleshoot a decline. Fandango makes the final decision on whether to accept a card.
What you need before checkout
- A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Your card number, expiry date and CVV are available after the card is issued; manage the card in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard.
- Your real account and billing details. Use your own name and the billing address associated with your payment details. Make sure the card has enough available funds for the full amount shown at checkout, including any applicable tax or fees.
- An eligible Fandango purchase. FanClub requires U.S. residency and an age of at least 18. Fandango streaming content is available only within the United States, and some U.S. territories or possessions are excluded. Check the terms for the particular service before paying; a virtual card does not change those rules.
At the time of writing (October 2026), Fandango’s U.S. membership page listed FanClub Monthly at US$9.99 per month plus tax and FanClub Annual at US$99.00 per year plus tax. Check Fandango’s official membership page for the current price and terms before confirming. FanRewards is a separate free program. Streaming rental and purchase prices depend on the title and are displayed during selection and checkout.
How to pay for Fandango tickets
- On Fandango’s website or app, choose a movie, theater, showtime and seats, then continue to your order. Check the theater, date, time and entire ticket order before moving to payment.
- Sign in or create a Fandango account if prompted. If the checkout offers you FanClub, decide whether you want a paid membership. You can remove an added membership before final payment; review the order summary to make sure it reflects your choice.
- At payment, select the option to enter a card if it is available. Retrieve your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV from the Coinepay app or dashboard, and enter them in the corresponding fields.
- Enter your real billing details as requested. Check the final ticket total and any separately listed charges, then submit the payment once. Wait for Fandango’s confirmation rather than placing a second order immediately if the page is slow to respond.
- Check your Fandango account or confirmation email for the order result. If you see a card authorization but no confirmed order, check the order status and contact Fandango before trying repeatedly.
Fandango’s ticket policy lists several payment methods, including major card brands, Venmo, PayPal, some digital wallets, promotional codes and Fandango gift cards. The options shown can vary by checkout. That list does not establish whether a particular Coinepay card will be accepted.
How to join FanClub with a virtual card
You can purchase FanClub from Fandango’s membership page or add it during a ticket purchase on the website or app. Choose FanClub Monthly or FanClub Annual, sign in or complete any requested account setup, and review the membership terms and checkout total. Enter your Coinepay card details in the available card fields, use your real billing details and confirm only when the selected membership and amount are correct. A successful purchase or trial generates an email confirmation.
The first membership charge is due when you purchase FanClub or after an applicable free trial. FanClub then renews automatically unless you cancel before the current period ends. Keep enough funds available for a renewal you intend to make; if you do not want another period, cancel in your account’s FanClub settings before renewal. Paid benefits ordinarily continue through the end of the current period. Fandango ordinarily does not refund partial periods or unused benefits, except where required by law or where it grants an exception. If you need to replace a saved payment card, check the payment controls shown in your Fandango account or ask Fandango support for the current steps.
How to pay for a Fandango streaming rental or purchase
- Choose a movie or TV title in Fandango’s streaming service and select the rental or purchase option offered for that title. This is a per-transaction purchase, not a required monthly streaming subscription.
- Sign in or create an account when prompted. Review whether you selected a rental or purchase, along with the title, price and any displayed terms.
- At checkout, enter your Coinepay virtual card details if a card payment option is offered. Supply your real billing information, review the order and confirm the transaction. Some devices may require additional steps.
- Look for the purchase result in your Fandango account before retrying an uncertain payment. Streaming payments are generally nonrefundable unless required by law, though Fandango may grant a discretionary credit or refund.
Do not assume a Fandango gift card can replace a card for streaming. Fandango gift cards purchased on or after February 1, 2021 are for tickets, not streaming rentals or purchases. Fandango Stream gift cards are designated for eligible streaming transactions. Fandango announced in July 2026 that the streaming service formerly called Fandango at Home was being brought under the Fandango brand, so older help material may use that former name.
What to check if Fandango declines the card
Insufficient available balance
Compare the available card funds in Coinepay with the full checkout total, including tax and any fees shown. A pending authorization can temporarily reduce available funds even when an order has not completed. Fandango notes that authorization holds can cause insufficient available balance on prepaid cards; that policy does not identify the type of your Coinepay card. Check both Fandango’s order status and the card activity before adding funds or retrying. For questions about a pending card transaction, contact Coinepay support.
Billing address or ZIP code mismatch
Recheck the card number, expiry date, CVV and the real billing name, address and postal code you entered. Correct typing errors rather than trying an unrelated address. If Fandango rejects a ZIP code or address that you believe is correct, ask Fandango what its checkout requires and contact Coinepay support to verify the billing details associated with your card. Do not repeatedly submit different addresses to bypass a check.
Additional authentication or 3-D Secure
If checkout requests an additional card-verification step, follow only the instructions presented by the legitimate payment flow and watch for any prompt available to you. If verification fails, times out or never appears, check whether Fandango recorded an order before retrying. Contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempt, and ask Fandango about the checkout result. Do not assume that every Fandango transaction uses the same authentication process.
Merchant region or eligibility checks
A payment can fail because the purchase does not meet Fandango’s service or regional rules, independently of the amount on the card. FanClub is for U.S. residents aged 18 or older; streaming has its own U.S. availability restrictions. Use your real location and account details, and ask Fandango whether the purchase is eligible if the restriction is unclear. Do not use a different address or location to work around a regional check. If Fandango specifies a restriction on card type or issuing country during your checkout, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets that requirement before you buy.
After payment: confirmations, refunds and help
Keep the Fandango confirmation email and review the order in your account. For ticket refunds or exchanges, Fandango’s rules depend on the theater: an eligible request must cover the entire order and meet that theater’s deadline. Convenience fees are generally excluded from refunds, and ticket purchases funded by a gift card may be exchangeable but not refundable. Check the policy for your specific theater before submitting a request.
For a missing ticket, membership or streaming order, start with Fandango because it controls the purchase and its refund decision. For a card balance, authorization or transaction question, use the Coinepay support page. Share the transaction time, amount and any displayed error, but never send your full card number or CVV in a support message.

FAQ
Is FanClub required to buy Fandango tickets or stream a movie?
No. FanClub is a paid membership option, while streaming rentals and purchases are charged per transaction. Check your ticket order before paying if FanClub was offered during checkout.
Can I cancel a FanClub membership before it renews?
Yes. Cancel in your account’s FanClub settings before the current period ends to prevent the next renewal. Paid benefits ordinarily continue until period-end.
Why was my Coinepay card declined by Fandango?
Check available funds, card details, your real billing address, any authentication prompt and Fandango’s regional rules. Confirm whether an order was placed before retrying.
Can I use a regular Fandango gift card for a streaming rental?
Fandango gift cards purchased on or after February 1, 2021 are for tickets, not streaming rentals or purchases. Fandango Stream gift cards are for eligible streaming transactions.
