You can start with a free Asana account and add payment details when you upgrade to a paid plan. This guide covers what to prepare, how to complete Asana checkout with a Coinepay virtual card, and what to check if a payment does not go through.
Choose an Asana plan before you pay
Asana’s current core plans are Personal, Starter, Advanced, Enterprise, and Enterprise+. Personal is free. Starter and Advanced are available through the online upgrade flow; Enterprise and Enterprise+ require a sales inquiry. If you see Premium, Business, or Legacy Enterprise in an Asana help article, those are legacy tier names rather than the current core lineup.
At the time of writing (October 2026), Asana listed US-dollar prices of $10.99 per user per month for Starter billed annually, or $13.49 billed monthly. Advanced was $24.99 per user per month billed annually, or $30.49 billed monthly. Paid plans start at two seats, so calculate the cost using the seat count you intend to select, not just the per-user figure. Prices, currencies, and taxes can vary by location; check Asana’s official pricing page and the total shown at checkout before paying.
Consider which part of Asana needs the upgrade. Its checkout asks you to select a workspace, team, division, or organization, as applicable. Confirm the right one with your team before proceeding, especially if you belong to more than one.
What you need before checkout
- An Asana account and the right workspace: Create a free account, then create or join the organization or workspace you intend to use. Asana also offers an Advanced trial that can be started without a credit card if you want to assess it before purchasing.
- A Coinepay account: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before using card services. Coinepay provides a virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV, managed in its self-service dashboard or mobile app.
- Enough available funds: Check the card’s available balance against Asana’s displayed checkout total for your selected seats and billing cycle. Account for any tax shown before submitting payment.
- Your real billing information: Have the billing name and address associated with your payment details ready. Enter accurate information; do not substitute an address from another region to try to change checkout availability.
- Access to payment verification: Be ready to complete any authentication request presented during checkout. Check the Coinepay app or contact Coinepay support if you need help with your card or a verification prompt.
Asana documents credit-card and PayPal payments, as well as qualifying manual invoice arrangements. A payment method appearing in its documentation does not establish that every card will be accepted in every checkout. If you need to confirm a card-specific requirement before buying, ask Coinepay support; Asana can advise on its own checkout requirements.
How to subscribe to Asana with your Coinepay card
- Sign in or create an Asana account. Use your real account details. Create or join the organization or workspace that needs the paid features.
- Open the upgrade flow. Select Upgrade in Asana. If you have multiple spaces, check which workspace, team, division, or organization the upgrade will cover.
- Choose your tier and billing cycle. Select Starter or Advanced, then compare monthly and annual billing. Enterprise and Enterprise+ purchases go through sales rather than this standard self-service checkout.
- Set the seat count. Asana paid plans start at two seats. Review the number carefully because the displayed per-user price is not the full amount for a multi-seat purchase.
- Enter payment and billing details. Retrieve the card number, expiry date, and CVV from your Coinepay dashboard or app. Enter them in Asana’s payment fields along with your real billing address. Review the final total, currency, and any tax shown.
- Submit the upgrade. Select Upgrade to complete checkout, and respond to any payment authentication prompt. Then check Asana’s billing page to confirm the plan and payment record rather than repeatedly submitting the form if the outcome is unclear.
If your organization prefers an invoice, Asana says invoice payment is available through sales for annual plans with at least 20 members. Ask Asana about that route instead of expecting an invoice option at ordinary card checkout.
Where to manage your Asana payment details
In Asana, open your profile photo, then go to Admin console → Billing. The billing owner can access invoices and update payment information. To change a documented payment method, look for Edit payment info on the Billing page. If you cannot see the billing controls, first check whether you are signed into the relevant organization and whether you have the billing role needed for that action. Contact Asana support if the expected controls remain unavailable.
If your card details change, update them in Asana before a future charge is due. Keep the card’s available funds under review for recurring payments. Coinepay card information and account management are available through its dashboard and mobile app for iOS or Android.
What to do if Asana declines the card
A declined payment does not, by itself, identify the cause. Work through the checks below, then contact the appropriate support team if you still cannot complete checkout. Avoid repeated attempts without correcting a possible issue first.
Check the available balance and checkout total
Compare your card’s available funds with the amount Asana is asking you to pay, including the selected seat count, billing cycle, and tax displayed at checkout. An annual selection and a two-seat minimum can make the total higher than an advertised monthly per-user figure suggests. If the balance is insufficient, add funds through the options available in your Coinepay account before trying again.
Correct billing details
Re-enter the card number, expiry date, and CVV exactly as displayed in Coinepay, and check for typing errors in the billing name and address. Use your genuine billing details. If Asana still flags a mismatch, ask Coinepay support which details to use for your card and ask Asana support what its checkout requires; do not try unrelated addresses.
Complete any authentication prompt
If checkout asks for 3-D Secure or another cardholder approval step, complete the prompt rather than closing it or letting it expire. If no prompt appears, it fails to load, or approval does not resolve the decline, contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempt and any message you saw. Asana notes that recurring charges on some Indian-issued credit cards can require manual authentication or approval under local rules; affected customers are directed to Asana support.
Check region and checkout requirements
A card can also fail a merchant’s location or payment checks. Use the country and billing details that genuinely apply to you, and ask Asana whether your selected plan and checkout currency are available for your account. Asana documents CAD and KRW credit-card checkout for Starter and Advanced in Canada and South Korea, respectively; Canadian customers can also use PayPal. It documents BRL and MXN credit-card or PayPal checkout for those plans in Brazil and Mexico. Those local-currency checkout options do not extend to Enterprise, Enterprise+, or manual invoices. Do not assume switching currency will resolve a decline.
Asana also restricts access for people or companies in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and Ukraine’s Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions, as well as denied parties. Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions; its customers and counterparties are screened. Do not attempt to bypass either service’s eligibility checks.
Renewal and cancellation
To cancel an online plan, an Asana billing owner, admin, or super admin can go to Admin console → Billing → Cancel plan. Asana says cancellation takes effect at the next renewal, with paid access continuing until then. Manually invoiced customers should contact Asana billing instead.
Check your renewal date and applicable agreement early. Asana’s Subscriber Terms generally treat amounts due as non-cancelable and non-refundable, subject to specified remedies, and require notice at least 30 days before renewal to prevent auto-renewal. An order form or separately agreed contract may affect your terms. Review those terms and the cancellation confirmation rather than assuming stopping use of Asana stops charges.
