To send money from abroad to someone’s Nagad account in Bangladesh, start a Coinepay Global Remittance transfer and choose Nagad as the mobile-wallet payout method if it is available for your transfer. Before you confirm, check the recipient’s registered number and name, then review the exchange rate and fees displayed in Coinepay. This guide explains the steps and what to check if the wallet is not credited.

What is a transfer to Nagad?

Nagad is a mobile financial service used in Bangladesh. Its wallet balance is held in Bangladeshi taka (BDT). When an international remittance is paid into a Nagad wallet, the recipient receives the taka payout in that wallet. This is different from using Nagad’s domestic Send Money feature to move funds between local users.

Bangladesh permits inward remittances to be disbursed to local mobile wallets through the regulated receiving arrangements. The sender initiates the cross-border transfer with a remittance service; the recipient does not need to initiate an international transfer inside Nagad. Payout availability can depend on the transfer route and local requirements, so check the methods shown for Bangladesh in Coinepay before proceeding.

Get the recipient’s details before you start

Ask the recipient to confirm the information associated with the Nagad account that should receive the money. Do not use a number from an old wallet, another person’s account or a different mobile-wallet provider.

  • Registered mobile number or account identifier: Get the phone number registered to the recipient’s Nagad wallet, or the account ID if the Coinepay transfer form requests one. Copy it from information the recipient has checked, rather than relying on a saved contact.
  • Full registered name: Ask for the recipient’s full name exactly as registered on the Nagad account. Use their real details, including the correct spelling and name order requested by the form.
  • Account readiness: Ask the recipient to confirm that they can access the wallet and that it is eligible to receive a remittance of the intended amount. Account verification and applicable wallet limits can affect a payout.

Follow the number format specified in the Coinepay form. A Bangladesh mobile number may be written locally with an initial 0 or internationally with the 880 country code replacing that 0. For example, 01234567890 becomes 8801234567890 in that international format. Do not assume that every form accepts the same format: use the instructions beside the field, and check the displayed number again before confirming.

How to send money to a Nagad wallet with Coinepay

  1. Sign in and start a transfer. Open the Coinepay app or 24/7 self-service dashboard and begin a Global Remittance transfer. If you are new to Coinepay, register and complete the identity verification required for the service.
  2. Choose Bangladesh as the destination. Enter the transfer details requested by Coinepay. Check the destination and the amount you intend to send or have delivered. The available payout methods are shown as part of the transfer flow.
  3. Select the Nagad payout method. Under mobile-wallet payout, choose Nagad if it appears. Do not choose bank account deposit or another wallet simply because it also serves Bangladesh. If Nagad is not offered, do not substitute a different method for a Nagad account; contact Coinepay support about the available route.
  4. Enter the recipient’s wallet details. Supply the registered Nagad number or account ID requested on the screen and the recipient’s full registered name. Compare the number with what the recipient provided, including its country code or leading zero as required by the form.
  5. Review the transfer before confirming. Read the payout method, recipient details, amount, exchange rate and fees displayed in Coinepay. The rate and fees are shown before you confirm. Check any additional information or documents the app requests rather than assuming that a previously used recipient record is still correct.
  6. Confirm and track. Submit the transfer only when the details are accurate. Coinepay provides status tracking for each transfer; use it to follow progress and retain the transfer reference if one is displayed. A submitted transfer is not the same as a confirmed wallet credit.

Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may ask for documents about the purpose of the payment or the source of funds. Provide accurate information and respond through the appropriate Coinepay channel if a review is requested.

How the recipient checks that the money arrived

Once the payout is completed, the recipient should check their Nagad wallet balance and transaction history using their usual Nagad access method. They should look for a received remittance or incoming credit and compare the credited amount with the transfer details. Any alert they receive can be useful, but checking the wallet record is the more direct way to confirm the credit.

Ask the recipient to keep their wallet PIN and one-time passcodes private. Neither the sender nor someone claiming to help with a remittance needs those credentials to verify a payout. If Coinepay tracking shows a completed transfer but the recipient cannot find the credit, gather the transfer reference, the number used and the recipient’s account details, then contact Coinepay support. The recipient may also need to ask Nagad to check their wallet record.

Understand wallet verification and receiving limits

A recipient’s ability to receive and use funds depends on their Nagad account status, applicable wallet limits and local requirements. An account that has not completed the verification required for a particular transaction may be unable to receive it. The amount the wallet can receive can also differ from the amount the recipient can later withdraw or move. Do not assume that a larger remittance can all be cashed out at once.

Before sending, especially if the amount is important to the recipient, ask them to check their current Nagad account status and relevant receiving, balance and cash-out rules through Nagad. Also follow any amount requirements shown by Coinepay for the transfer. Do not divide a payment or use someone else’s wallet to avoid a limit, identity check or reporting requirement; ask support which compliant option is available instead.

Troubleshooting a Nagad transfer

Wrong number or payout method

A Nagad credit depends on identifying the correct wallet. If you have not confirmed the transfer, correct the number and make sure the selected method says Nagad. If you have already confirmed it, contact Coinepay support promptly with the transfer reference. Do not assume the entry can be edited or the payment recalled after submission. If the form rejects the number, check whether it asks for a local number beginning with 0 or an international number beginning with 880.

Recipient name does not match

Ask the recipient to check the spelling of their full name against their Nagad registration. Correct a mismatch before confirming. If the transfer is already under way, give Coinepay support the transfer reference and follow its instructions; do not replace a real name with an invented one to pass a check.

Wallet limit reached or account not sufficiently verified

Ask the recipient to check their current Nagad receiving eligibility, verification status and wallet rules. They may need to complete Nagad’s account requirements or resolve a wallet restriction before a payout can proceed. If a transfer has already been submitted, use Coinepay tracking and contact support for the next step rather than repeatedly sending new transfers.

Transfer is undergoing a compliance review

A review does not necessarily mean the wallet number is wrong. Check the transfer status and any request from Coinepay for identity, purpose-of-payment or source-of-funds documents. Supply truthful information through the requested channel and wait for the review outcome. Coinepay cannot process transfers involving sanctioned persons or jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions.

For questions about the transfer itself, use Coinepay support. For questions about whether the recipient’s Nagad account can receive or use a credit, the recipient should consult Nagad through its official support channels.
