Singapore Airlines sells flight tickets rather than a monthly subscription. You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at checkout when an eligible card payment option is offered, but acceptance depends on the booking and payment checks. This guide covers what to prepare, how to book, and what to do if payment fails.

What to prepare before booking

  • Your travel details: origin, destination, dates, passenger names and any required travel documents. Enter passenger details exactly as required for travel.
  • A verified Coinepay account: register and complete identity verification before using card services. You can manage your account through the 24/7 self-service dashboard or Coinepay mobile app.
  • Your virtual card details: Coinepay provides a card number, expiry date and CVV when the card is issued. Check the card’s available funds and applicable details in your account before checkout.
  • Your real billing information: use accurate information associated with your payment account. Do not change your address or location to get around a regional payment restriction.

If you have not registered, start at Coinepay registration. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction. Check your Coinepay account or contact support if you need to confirm a card detail or service availability.

Choose a Singapore Airlines fare before you pay

The amount due depends on your itinerary, cabin, fare and selected extras. There is no single Singapore Airlines subscription price or universal price for a fare type. Check the live quote on Singapore Airlines’ official website or app, including its currency, before you enter your card.

CabinFare types listed by Singapore Airlines
Economy ClassLite, Value, Standard, Flexi
Premium Economy ClassLite, Standard, Flexi
Business ClassLite, Standard, Flexi
First Class / SuitesOne listed fare type

Compare the conditions attached to the exact fare you select, particularly changes and cancellations. Singapore Airlines’ fare-type table marks Economy Lite, Premium Economy Lite and Business Lite cancellations as not allowed; other listed fare types show chargeable cancellation. Conditions for a partner-operated flight may differ from those for a Singapore Airlines-operated flight. Review the rules shown for your ticket rather than relying on the cabin name alone.

You do not need to buy a loyalty subscription to book a flight. KrisFlyer enrolment is free, while KrisFlyer Elite Silver, KrisFlyer Elite Gold, PPS Club and Solitaire PPS Club are status levels, not monthly ticket plans. If you want an account, Singapore Airlines also offers a free Registered Customer account for non-KrisFlyer customers aged 16 or older. KrisFlyer membership is available from age two.

How to pay for a Singapore Airlines ticket

  1. Open Singapore Airlines’ official website or app. Sign in if you have a KrisFlyer or Registered Customer account, or continue through the booking flow offered to you. Account registration may be useful for managing your details, but it is separate from issuing your Coinepay card.
  2. Search for a flight. Enter your origin, destination, travel dates and passengers. Review the available flights, including any connection or partner-operated segment.
  3. Select your cabin and fare. Compare the fare conditions and the total quoted for your itinerary. Add any available extras you want, then review the passenger information carefully.
  4. Review checkout. Confirm the booking currency, total, fare rules and any payment charge displayed before submitting payment. Card options can vary by departure city. Singapore Airlines’ online-booking conditions name Visa, Mastercard, Diners and American Express credit cards, while its payment guidance also discusses credit and debit cards. Do not assume a particular Coinepay card will be accepted merely because a card option appears.
  5. Enter your Coinepay virtual card details. Copy the number, expiry date and CVV from your Coinepay account into the relevant fields. Enter your real billing details and complete any authentication requested during checkout.
  6. Confirm the result. Wait for Singapore Airlines to show a completed booking and provide its confirmation. If the page times out or returns an error, check whether a booking exists before making another payment attempt. Keep the booking reference and receipt for later changes or support requests.

If checkout specifies a card category or an issuer-country requirement and you are unsure whether your card qualifies, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before you buy. Do not assume that another departure city or inaccurate billing details will solve a restriction.

What to do if your card is declined

Start with the message Singapore Airlines displays, then check one cause at a time. Repeated submissions without checking the booking and payment status can make it harder to tell whether a transaction went through.

  • Insufficient funds or incorrect details — P1001: Singapore Airlines associates this code with incorrect card details or insufficient funds. Compare the number, expiry and CVV with your Coinepay account. Check the available funds against the full checkout total, including any extras and applicable charges shown there.
  • Billing address mismatch: re-enter your real billing details accurately. If the checkout requires a detail you cannot verify from your account, ask Coinepay support rather than guessing or using someone else’s address.
  • 3-D Secure or authentication failure: complete the verification prompt if one appears. A failed or interrupted authentication can prevent payment. If you cannot complete it, check your Coinepay account for relevant information and contact support for help; then begin a fresh checkout if no booking was confirmed.
  • Issuer or payment processing — P1002: Singapore Airlines describes this as the bank being unable to process payment. Its guidance also identifies disabled online transactions, issuer currency or credit limits, and fraud controls as possible causes. Ask Coinepay support to help investigate the attempted transaction rather than assuming which check failed.
  • Card details or payment option — P1003 or P1004: P1003 means Singapore Airlines could not process the entered card details; P1004 indicates a payment-method issue. Check the fields and the options offered for your departure city. If the problem persists, contact Singapore Airlines about the checkout error and Coinepay support about your card.
  • Merchant region checks: payment options and requirements may depend on the departure city or transaction. Use the itinerary and genuine billing details that apply to you. If a specific card type or issuer location is required, confirm your card’s eligibility with Coinepay support before trying again.

When asking for help, provide the airline’s error code, the booking currency, the approximate time of the attempt and whether you received a booking confirmation. Never send your full card number or CVV in an ordinary support message.

Manage a booking after payment

Singapore Airlines directs customers to Manage Booking to pay for eligible changes or add-ons and request eligible cancellations. You cannot change the payment method for a purchase that has already been processed. For a directly purchased refundable ticket, the documented cancellation path is Manage Booking → Cancel booking; fees may apply. For a non-refundable ticket, Singapore Airlines says only refundable taxes are returned. Always check your ticket’s conditions before requesting a change or cancellation.

For a ticket to or from the United States, Singapore Airlines permits penalty-free cancellation within 24 hours of booking when the reservation was made at least one week before departure; it advises contacting the airline to ensure a full refund. Singapore Airlines says it normally processes credit or debit card refund requests within two weeks, although your bank may take longer to display the credit. If you need help identifying a payment or refund on your Coinepay account, use Coinepay support.

FAQ

Is Singapore Airlines a subscription I can pay for monthly?

No. You pay for a selected flight itinerary and any extras. KrisFlyer is a free-to-join loyalty programme, not a monthly flight plan.

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for every Singapore Airlines booking?

Not necessarily. Card options vary by departure city, and payment is subject to checkout and issuer checks. Confirm any stated card-type or issuer-country requirement with Coinepay support before buying.

What does Singapore Airlines payment error P1001 mean?

Singapore Airlines associates P1001 with incorrect card details or insufficient funds. Check the entered number, expiry and CVV, then compare available funds with the full checkout total.

Can I change the card used after buying a ticket?

No. Singapore Airlines says the payment method for an already-processed purchase cannot be changed. Use Manage Booking for eligible paid changes or add-ons.
