Uber One is Uber’s membership for eligible rides and Uber Eats orders. If you want to pay for it with a Coinepay virtual card, start by checking the membership offer in your Uber app, then add your card during signup or in your membership payment settings. This guide covers the steps and what to check if a payment fails; adding a card does not guarantee Uber will accept it.

What you need before you start

  • A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register and complete identity verification before using Coinepay card services. Once issued, your virtual card’s number, expiry date and CVV are available in Coinepay’s app or self-service dashboard.
  • An Uber account. Sign in to the Uber app with your real account details. Uber One availability, offers and benefits depend on your location and the terms shown to you.
  • Enough available funds. Check your card’s available balance against the amount Uber displays at checkout. If a trial or promotion applies, also review the charge and date shown for the first renewal.
  • Your real billing details. Have the billing name and address associated with your payment details ready. Do not use an invented address or change your account region to try to pass a payment check.

Uber calls its consumer membership Uber One and its named student offering Uber One for Students. The Monthly Plan and Annual Plan are billing options, not separate benefit tiers. Student eligibility and available billing options must be checked in Uber’s offer. Coinepay services are not available in every jurisdiction, so check availability in the app if you are unsure.

Check the Uber One offer before paying

Open Account → Uber One in the Uber app and read the offer presented to your account. Confirm the billing frequency, price, any trial or promotion, the date recurring payments begin, and the cancellation terms before you subscribe. If you want an annual option, Uber’s instructions direct users to Current Plan → Annual Plan where that option is available.

Prices differ by market. At the time of writing (October 2026), Uber’s US page listed standard Uber One at US$9.99 per month, while its UK page listed £4.99 per month or £49.99 per year. Those examples are not a quote for your account: check Uber’s official Uber One pricing page and the final offer in your app for your location. Do not assume a student offer, annual option or free trial applies to you.

Benefits are conditional, too. Look for the Uber One icon on eligible rides or stores, and check any displayed minimum for an order. Membership does not remove every tax or fee. If you travel, do not assume every benefit follows you: Uber describes selected benefits abroad only where they are offered, subject to local eligibility rules.

How to subscribe with your Coinepay virtual card

  1. Get your card details. If you have not registered, use Coinepay registration and complete identity verification. In the Coinepay app or dashboard, locate your virtual card and check its available balance. Use the app or contact Coinepay support if you need help with card-service availability or funding options.
  2. Open the membership screen. Sign in to the Uber app and tap Account → Uber One. Review the membership offered to you, including any student option for which you qualify.
  3. Select your billing option. Follow Uber’s prompts to choose the plan and payment method. If you are choosing an available annual option, look for Current Plan → Annual Plan. Read the full amount and renewal schedule rather than relying on a promotional headline.
  4. Add the virtual card. When Uber prompts for a payment method, choose the option to add a card and enter the Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as displayed. Enter your genuine billing details if requested. Uber’s available payment options can vary by market and account.
  5. Review and confirm. Check the card selected for the membership, then confirm registration or an eligible free trial in Uber. Complete any payment verification presented by Uber or the card issuer. Return to Account → Uber One to check the membership status and billing details.

Uber also lets people pay for individual rides and food orders without an Uber One membership. Subscribing to Uber One does not mean every future ride or order is charged to your membership payment card; review the payment method shown for each separate checkout.

Change the card used for Uber One renewals

To update an existing membership, open Uber or Uber Eats and go to Account → Uber One → Manage membership. Under payment details, select Change, choose or add the card, and tap Update. Check the saved selection afterward rather than assuming that adding a card elsewhere in your Uber account changed the membership’s renewal method.

Uber charges the selected method at your signup frequency after any trial or promotion. Its help guidance also says it may try another saved payment method if the default one fails at renewal. If you do not want an upcoming renewal, changing or removing a card is not the same as cancelling: use Uber One → Manage Membership → End Membership and read the cancellation terms shown for your market. Timing rules differ; for example, Uber’s UK guidance says to cancel in-app more than 48 hours before billing and to contact Uber Support within 48 hours.

Why was the card declined?

Start with the exact message Uber displays. Uber’s general app-payment guidance documents messages including “Request Failed: Card Declined,” “Your payment method is invalid. Please update your billing settings,” and “There was an error processing your request.” These are app-payment examples, not confirmed Uber One-specific error messages. A decline can happen when adding a card, making the initial payment or attempting a renewal.

  • Insufficient balance: Compare the available amount shown in Coinepay with Uber’s full checkout or renewal charge. A trial can still lead to a later charge. If you need to add funds, follow the options and instructions displayed in your Coinepay account, then retry when the available balance is sufficient.
  • Card details or billing address mismatch: Re-enter the card number, expiry date and CVV carefully, and check that the card has not expired. Use your real billing name and address, consistent with your payment records. If you are unsure what billing details apply to your card, ask Coinepay support rather than guessing.
  • Payment authentication: If a 3-D Secure or other verification prompt appears, complete it using the instructions provided. If no prompt appears, it times out or verification fails, check the Coinepay app for a request or status information. Contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempt if you need help investigating; do not share your CVV or a one-time code.
  • Merchant region or eligibility checks: Uber may check the account location, available membership offer and payment method during checkout. Use your genuine account region and billing details. If a card is not accepted for the offer presented to you, ask Uber about eligible payment methods in your market and contact Coinepay support to check your card’s applicable details before trying again. Do not assume acceptance in one country establishes acceptance elsewhere.
  • Another card or account restriction: Uber’s general decline guidance also mentions unauthorized international use, fraud blocks, exceeded limits, and cards reported lost or stolen. Check for a relevant notice in your Coinepay account and contact support if the cause is unclear. Avoid repeatedly submitting the same failed payment without addressing the likely issue.

If you contact either service, provide the error text, approximate attempt time, amount and whether it happened at signup or renewal. Share card details only through an appropriate secure support channel, and never send your full card number or CVV in an ordinary message.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for Uber One?

You can try adding it during Uber One checkout or in Manage membership. Acceptance depends on Uber’s payment checks and the offer available to your account.

Where do I change the payment card for an existing Uber One membership?

In Uber or Uber Eats, go to Account → Uber One → Manage membership. Under payment details, select Change, choose or add a card, and tap Update.

Will Uber charge my card after a free trial?

If you confirm an eligible trial, review the renewal date and charge shown by Uber. The selected membership payment method is charged at the applicable billing frequency after the trial or promotion.

What should I do if Uber says my card is declined?

Check your available balance, card details and genuine billing address, and complete any verification prompt. If it still fails, note Uber’s error message and contact the appropriate support team.
