You can create a Meetic profile without buying a subscription, then decide whether a paid plan offers features you want. If you choose to pay by card, this guide walks through Meetic’s checkout using a Coinepay virtual card, including what to check if the payment does not go through. Card acceptance depends on Meetic’s checkout and payment checks; having a virtual card does not ensure approval.
What you need before subscribing
- A Meetic account: Register on the Meetic website for your location or in the app, and answer the profile questions. Use your real identity and accurate account details.
- A Coinepay virtual card: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Coinepay provides the card number, expiry date and CVV in its app or self-service dashboard.
- Enough available funds: Check the total shown at Meetic checkout, including the term you select. Check your available balance in Coinepay before attempting payment.
- Accurate billing information: If Meetic asks for a billing name or address, enter your real details. Check them carefully rather than changing them to another country to try to pass a payment check.
- Access to any authentication request: Meetic may require you to approve a bank-authentication step after entering your card details. Keep the checkout open until it finishes.
Meetic lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, App Store and Google Play Store among its payment methods. That list does not establish whether any particular virtual card will be accepted. If Meetic’s checkout states a restriction on card type or issuing country, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before you buy. Do not assume a different billing address or account region will solve a restriction.
Choose the Meetic subscription that fits
On the French Meetic website, the paid tiers are abonnement Essentiel, abonnement Premium and pass Prestige. Essentiel adds access to profiles and the Likes list. Premium includes features such as unlimited messages, advanced filters and three SuperLikes per week. Prestige adds features including priority Likes, a Prestige filter and Anti-Ghosting. A free account remains an option; Meetic also says its expanded free experience includes messaging after a mutual match.
Plan labels and available offers can differ by country and purchase channel. For example, Meetic app listings in Italy and Portugal use names such as Pass Essential or Essencial, Pass Premium and Pass Prestige, while Meetic’s Portuguese help describes Essencial and Premium. Use the options displayed for your own account rather than assuming that a plan described for another country is available to you. Prices vary by region and channel; check Meetic’s official pricing or subscription page and the final checkout screen for the current amount, billing term and renewal price.
Pay special attention to promotions. Meetic says time-limited special offers renew at the full, undiscounted price. Before confirming, read both the amount due now and what you will owe at renewal. A longer billing term or promotional first payment may not have the ongoing cost you initially expect.
How to sign up and pay on the Meetic website
- Create or open your account. Go to the local Meetic website, register if necessary, and complete its profile questions. You do not have to purchase a subscription simply to create a profile.
- Open the subscription offers. On the French website, sign in and select S’abonner at the top of a page. If you use another local version, look for its subscription or Pass option.
- Review the offer. Compare the features, subscription term, amount due today and automatic-renewal terms shown for your account. Select the offer you actually want.
- Enter your card details. At Meetic’s card checkout, copy the card number, expiry date and CVV from your Coinepay app or dashboard. Enter the genuine billing details requested by Meetic, and review the payment information before selecting the final payment button.
- Complete authentication. If an authentication prompt appears, follow its instructions and approve the purchase. Return to Meetic and wait for the checkout to finish. Meetic says closing the authentication prompt without approving it leaves the card purchase incomplete.
- Verify the result. Check Meetic for confirmation and review your subscription information. If the result is unclear, check both Meetic and your Coinepay activity before trying again, so you do not submit an unnecessary second purchase.
If you need to change the card during Meetic’s French payment flow, its help directs you to select an offer on the payment page, then choose Modifier la méthode de paiement beneath valider mon paiement on the next page. This is a checkout path, not a promise that every account has a separate saved-card settings screen.
Paying through the Meetic app is a different checkout
Meetic’s Spanish help places mobile subscription options under Yo, where Suscribirme ahora opens the Pass purchase flow. Navigation and offers may differ in other local versions. Before paying, check which service will process the purchase: Meetic’s card page, Apple’s App Store or Google Play. A purchase billed by an app store follows that store’s payment and subscription controls; entering a card on Meetic’s website does not automatically make it the payment method for an app-store purchase.
If your goal is to enter the Coinepay card directly on Meetic’s card checkout, use a Meetic purchase flow that presents card fields and complete any required authentication there. Do not assume that an in-app price or term matches the website offer. Review the amount and renewal conditions in the checkout you actually use.
What to check if Meetic declines the card
Meetic says subscription payment failures are generally related to the payment method, but it does not publish a definitive list of card-decline messages. Work through these checks rather than assuming one particular cause:
- Insufficient available balance: Compare your Coinepay available balance with the full amount Meetic shows at checkout. If it is not enough, add funds using the options available in your Coinepay account before retrying.
- Billing details do not match: Recheck the card number, expiry date, CVV and any requested name or billing address for typing errors. Use your real billing information. If you cannot tell which detail is expected, ask support rather than inventing one.
- Authentication was not completed: If a 3-D Secure or other bank-authentication prompt appears, do not close it early. Follow the prompt, approve the transaction and return to Meetic. Meetic suggests contacting the bank, trying another device or choosing PayPal if its authentication step fails; those alternatives are not a guarantee of approval.
- Merchant or regional checks: Make sure you are using the Meetic service and offer available for your actual location. A merchant may decline a transaction after its own checks. If checkout displays a card-type or issuing-country requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets it before another attempt. Do not use false account or billing details to work around a restriction.
If the problem persists, record the time of the attempt and the exact message displayed, then contact Meetic about the checkout and Coinepay support about the card transaction. Avoid sharing your full card number or CVV in ordinary messages.
Manage renewal after you subscribe
Keep a note of whether Meetic or an app store bills your subscription. For a subscription managed through Meetic, its French help gives the desktop cancellation path as Paramètres du compte → Gérer le compte → Gérer l’abonnement. On mobile web or Android, it gives Profil → Paramètres → Préférences → Annuler votre pass. For a Google Play purchase, use Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions; for an iPhone purchase, use Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
Meetic’s French help says you can cancel automatic renewal from 24 hours after purchase until 48 hours before renewal. Access continues through the paid term, and instalments already owed may still be payable. Check the terms that apply to your country, purchase channel and offer. Cancelling renewal is not the same as requesting a refund: Meetic describes a 14-day withdrawal period and a prorated refund for certain initial website or mobile-web subscriptions or upgrades in France, with exclusions. App-store refund requests go to the relevant store. If you are unsure which policy applies, review your purchase confirmation and ask the billing provider before the renewal date.

FAQ
Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for a Meetic subscription?

Do I have to subscribe to create a Meetic profile?
No. You can register and complete a Meetic profile without buying a subscription.
Why did my Meetic card payment not finish after authentication?
Meetic says a card purchase remains incomplete if the bank-authentication prompt is closed without approval. Complete the prompt and return to Meetic; if it fails again, contact support.
Where do I cancel my Meetic subscription?
For a Meetic-managed subscription, French desktop help lists Paramètres du compte → Gérer le compte → Gérer l’abonnement. If Apple or Google billed you, manage the subscription in that store instead.
