Cafe24 is a Korean-founded e-commerce platform that lets merchants build an online store, connect payment gateways and sell to customers in many countries. If you plan to run a Cafe24 store and want to keep your business billing separate and organised, a Coinepay virtual card can be a convenient way to handle card charges. This guide explains how Cafe24 billing actually works, how to sign up, where to manage payment details, and what to check if a card is declined.
Understand how Cafe24 charges before you pay
Cafe24 is not a single fixed monthly subscription, so it helps to know what you are actually paying for:
- Creating a store is free. When you register as a merchant, Cafe24 creates a default store at no monthly cost; this is not a paid tier.
- Cafe24 PRO is a sales-based commission, not a flat fee. At the time of writing (October 2026), the US/global pricing page listed a post-promotion charge of 2% of DTC store sales (excluding amounts paid with store points), with a promotion advertised as free through December 31, 2026. The Japanese page showed the same 2% and promotion; the Korean PRO page showed three months free, then 2%, with its help center additionally listing 1% for B2B and 1% for marketplace sales, VAT extra. Because these differ by region and change often, always confirm the current figures on Cafe24's own pricing page.
- Payment-gateway fees are separate. If you connect PayPal, Stripe or (for Japan-based JPY stores) SBPS, those providers charge their own transaction fees. For example, Cafe24 listed Japan SBPS card processing at 3.6% + JPY 2 per transaction, plus a monthly fee that varies by business type. For PayPal and Stripe rates, Cafe24 refers merchants to those providers' own country sites.
- Enterprise plans are quoted individually. Cafe24 Enterprise Global and Enterprise Plus are separate, individually quoted services (VAT extra).
Important distinction: the Coinepay virtual card is for charges you owe to Cafe24 (and any card-based services you use). It is not the method your own shoppers use to pay you — that depends on the gateway you connect and your checkout setup.
What you need before you start
- A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. Register at the Coinepay sign-up page, then issue a virtual card in the dashboard or the iOS app or Android app. You will see the card number, expiry date and CVV instantly.
- Your real business and billing details — legal name, billing address and the country where your business operates. Use accurate information that matches your Coinepay account; do not use fabricated addresses or attempt to bypass regional checks.
- Enough available balance on the card to cover whatever charge you are making. Top up in advance.
- Your email or a Google account for Cafe24 sign-in.
Cafe24 explicitly lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover for PayPal card payments, and Visa and Mastercard for Stripe. Whether any specific card is accepted still depends on the gateway and the transaction. If you are unsure whether your Coinepay card meets a gateway's requirements, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you rely on it.
Step by step: sign up for Cafe24
- Go to Cafe24's official global site and select Get started for free.
- Sign in with Google or a verified email address.
- Choose your business country. Cafe24 advertises selling to customers in 200+ countries, but that does not guarantee merchant signup or every gateway is available in your location. If signup is blocked in your country, do not try to disguise your location — use a region where the service is genuinely offered.
- Accept the terms. Cafe24 then creates a default store and opens the admin page.
Set up payments and where card billing lives
There are two different "payment" areas in Cafe24, and it is easy to confuse them:
Your shoppers' checkout (gateway setup)
To take money from customers, you first apply for and connect a payment gateway, then choose which methods and display names appear at checkout under Settings > Orders/Shipping > Orders. What a shopper can use depends entirely on your store's setup. Note that SBPS is limited to Japan-based businesses with JPY stores, and Cafe24 says its sole-proprietor offering there is limited to cards and PayPay.
Your own PRO / service fees
For PRO, the help center points merchants to Cafe24 PRO > My subscription > Usage status to check the service start date. For Enterprise services, the portal's Service management > Payment/settlement shows the current plan, payment history and usage. A single universal PRO screen for editing a billed card was not confirmed in current documentation, so follow the on-screen billing prompts in your own account and check the exact path there.
How and when Cafe24 collects service fees
Because PRO is sales-based, you usually are not charged a card amount up front. Cafe24's global terms provide for monthly calculation, an invoice issued by the 10th of the following month, payment due by the 20th, and the possibility that amounts owed are deducted from your gateway settlement proceeds. When you enter the Coinepay card where Cafe24 requests one, make sure the card has enough balance to cover the invoiced amount by the due date so a scheduled charge is not declined.
Troubleshooting: card declined or payment failed
Decline wording varies by gateway and issuer, so treat the following as general causes rather than exact Cafe24 messages. (Cafe24's separate AI Homepage Builder product documents a "Payment failed" status and a "Card verification is required" prompt — those belong to that product, not to PRO store billing.) Work through these checks:
- Insufficient balance. A sales-based invoice can be larger than you expect. Confirm your Coinepay card balance covers the full invoiced amount plus any gateway or currency differences, and top up before the due date.
- Billing address mismatch. Many gateways verify the billing address against issuer records. Enter the billing details exactly as they appear on your Coinepay account, with the correct country and postal code.
- 3-D Secure / extra verification. Some card transactions trigger an additional authentication step. Keep your phone and the Coinepay app handy to approve prompts; a timed-out confirmation can show as a decline.
- Gateway or merchant region checks. A gateway may restrict certain card countries or types. If this is the cause, the fix is to confirm compatibility rather than to work around it — ask Coinepay support whether your card meets that gateway's requirement, and check Cafe24's gateway documentation.
- Expired or inactive card. Verify the expiry date and that the virtual card is active in your Coinepay dashboard. Issue a fresh card if needed and update it in Cafe24.
- Single-transaction or per-card limits. If you set a spending limit on the card, raise it to cover the charge. Card limits and controls are managed in the Coinepay app.
If a charge still fails after these checks, confirm in your Coinepay transaction history whether the attempt reached the card. If it never arrived, the block is on the gateway or Cafe24 side; if it was declined at the card, reach out to Coinepay support or ask via Telegram.
Cancelling or closing your Cafe24 store
Cafe24's global store terms say either party can terminate on one month's notice, and any outstanding orders and amounts owed must be resolved first. To delete a store, use the admin path Cafe24 Settings > Store Deletion; Cafe24 requires completed orders, settled debts and terminated add-on/gateway services beforehand, and warns that deletion is irreversible. Whether already-incurred PRO commissions are refundable or prorated was not confirmed in the reviewed terms, so clear any balance before you close. Remember that marking a customer order refunded in Cafe24 admin does not by itself reverse the shopper's payment — you must also cancel the gateway approval.
Keep your Coinepay card ready
Because Cafe24 can invoice you monthly and may deduct fees from settlement, keep a funded Coinepay card on file and monitor balances in the app. You can manage cards, top-ups and spending controls 24/7 from the Coinepay dashboard or the mobile app. For anything about your card specifically, start at Coinepay or contact support.

FAQ
Is there a fixed monthly price I pay Cafe24 with my card?
Not necessarily. Creating a store is free, and Cafe24 PRO is a sales-based commission (listed as 2% of DTC sales at the time of writing in October 2026) rather than a flat monthly fee. Fees are invoiced monthly and may be deducted from gateway settlement. Check Cafe24's official pricing page for current figures.
Will the Coinepay card my shoppers see at checkout?
No. The card you add in Coinepay is for charges you owe Cafe24. What your shoppers can pay with depends on the payment gateway you connect (such as PayPal or Stripe) and the methods you enable under Settings > Orders/Shipping > Orders.
Does Cafe24 accept my Coinepay virtual card?
Cafe24 lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover for PayPal card payments, and Visa and Mastercard for Stripe, but acceptance still depends on the gateway and transaction. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets a gateway's requirements before you rely on it.
My Cafe24 payment was declined. What should I check first?
Confirm your card has enough balance for the full invoiced amount, that the billing address matches your Coinepay details exactly, that any 3-D Secure prompt is approved in time, and that the card is active and within its limits. If a gateway restricts card types or regions, ask Coinepay support to confirm compatibility.
How do I find my Cafe24 billing or subscription details?
For PRO, the help center points to Cafe24 PRO > My subscription > Usage status to see your service start date. Enterprise services show plan, payment history and usage under Service management > Payment/settlement. Follow the billing prompts shown in your own account for the exact path.
