You can use a Coinepay virtual card to enter card details at Adobe’s Lightroom checkout, but the payment is subject to Adobe’s checkout requirements and card authorization. This guide covers choosing a plan, preparing your card, completing an Adobe-billed purchase, and addressing common payment problems.

Choose the right Lightroom subscription

Start on Adobe’s official Lightroom plans page for your country. The plan name matters: Adobe sells several subscriptions that include Lightroom, with different apps and billing commitments.

  • Lightroom (1TB) includes Lightroom for desktop, mobile and web, Lightroom Classic, and 1 TB of storage.
  • Photography (1TB) adds Photoshop to those Lightroom apps and includes 1 TB of storage.
  • Creative Cloud Pro is Adobe’s individual multi-app subscription and includes Lightroom. Adobe also lists Creative Cloud Pro for students and teachers, Lightroom for teams, and Creative Cloud Pro for teams.

If you see Creative Cloud Photography (20GB) in an older comparison, note that Adobe stopped selling it to new subscribers on January 15, 2025. Existing subscribers may be able to keep an active subscription. Lightroom Premium purchased within a mobile app is a separate subscription, so check which product and seller appear at checkout before entering payment details.

Read the billing term as carefully as the monthly figure. An annual plan billed monthly is an annual commitment with monthly payments; it is not the same as a month-to-month plan. Prices, taxes and offers differ by country and can change, so check Adobe’s official pricing page and the final checkout summary for the amount and renewal terms that apply to you.

What you need before checkout

  • An Adobe account: Sign in or create one with your real details.
  • A Coinepay account: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before using card services. You can manage your account in the 24/7 self-service dashboard or Coinepay mobile app for iOS or Android.
  • Your virtual card details: Coinepay provides a card number, expiry date and CVV when your virtual card is issued. Check the Coinepay app for your available funds and any card settings relevant to the purchase.
  • Accurate billing information: Have your real name, billing address and country ready. Enter them consistently with your card and Adobe account details; do not use an invented address or choose a different country to obtain another region’s offer.

Adobe says a subscription’s purchase country must match its primary country of use. Plans and checkout options are not available everywhere. Make sure Adobe offers your chosen plan where you live and that you can meet its regional payment requirements. If checkout specifies an eligible card type or country of issue, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets that requirement before you buy. Do not assume a particular Adobe checkout will accept it.

How to subscribe and pay on Adobe’s website

  1. Select your plan. Open Adobe’s official Lightroom plans page for your country. Compare Lightroom (1TB), Photography (1TB), or another eligible plan that includes Lightroom. Check whether the displayed option is billed monthly under an annual commitment, prepaid annually, or offered on another term.
  2. Choose Buy now or Start free trial. The listed plans offer a seven-day trial. Adobe says a trial becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Review the trial’s end date and the charge shown at checkout rather than treating a trial as a one-time free purchase.
  3. Sign in or create your Adobe account. Follow Adobe’s prompts and confirm that the account country and primary country of use are correct.
  4. Review the order. Check the exact plan, billing period, tax, total due now, future charges and cancellation terms. Confirm that Adobe is the seller if you intend to manage payment later in Adobe account settings.
  5. Enter your Coinepay card details. If Adobe offers a card-payment option at your checkout, copy the card number, expiry date and CVV from Coinepay. Enter your genuine billing details. Follow any verification prompt shown during payment, then submit the order once.
  6. Confirm the result. Wait for Adobe’s order confirmation and check your Adobe account for the active plan. For an Adobe-billed purchase, receipts are under account.adobe.com → Plans and payment → Orders and invoices. If checkout does not confirm the purchase, inspect both accounts before making another attempt.

For an existing Adobe-billed subscription, you may not need to buy a second plan. Sign in at account.adobe.com → Plans and payment → Change payment to add, edit or retry a payment method. Use Manage plan for plan changes. If the purchase is billed by Apple or Google, update its payment method through that store instead of Adobe’s billing settings.

What to do if Adobe declines the card

Adobe may flag a “billing issue” on the plan page or say a payment “could not be processed.” A decline does not, by itself, identify which check failed. Work through these causes without repeatedly submitting unchanged details:

  • Insufficient available funds: Check the amount Adobe is attempting to charge, including any applicable tax, against the funds available for your Coinepay card. Review the plan term: an annual prepaid order has a different upfront total from an annual plan billed monthly. Check the Coinepay app for funding options and applicable card settings before retrying.
  • Billing address or card-detail mismatch: Recheck the number, expiry date and CVV, and correct any typing errors. Use your real billing name and address, with the country that legitimately applies to you. For an existing Adobe-billed plan, review the saved method under Plans and payment → Change payment.
  • 3-D Secure or another verification step: If checkout requests authentication, complete the prompt through the channel presented. If it expires or fails, return to checkout and follow the current instructions. Check the Coinepay app or ask Coinepay support what authentication options apply to your card; do not assume a particular verification flow is available.
  • Merchant region or card-eligibility checks: Adobe documents mismatched country as a possible payment problem and requires the purchase country to match the primary country of use. Use your correct country and review any card requirements displayed at checkout. If a card type or country-of-issue rule appears, contact Coinepay support to confirm eligibility before another attempt. Do not change your address or location to bypass the rule.
  • Expired details or an authorization block: Check that the saved card details are current. Adobe also lists bank fraud controls and exceeded credit limits among possible reasons for failed payments; those examples do not establish the cause of your particular decline. Ask Adobe about its checkout error and Coinepay support about the attempted card authorization if the reason remains unclear.

If a charge appears but Adobe does not show an active subscription, gather the order time, amount and any Adobe confirmation or error message before contacting support. Avoid sharing your full card number or CVV in a support message.

Manage renewal or cancel without a surprise

For an Adobe-billed subscription, go to account.adobe.com → Plans and payment → Manage plan → Cancel your plan → Confirm cancellation. Follow every confirmation step and keep the cancellation record. If Apple, Google or another seller bills your subscription, use that seller’s cancellation process.

Review Adobe’s terms for your country and plan before cancelling. Under Adobe’s stated US terms, most plans qualify for a full refund when cancelled within 14 days of initial purchase. After that, cancelling an annual plan billed monthly can result in an early-termination fee equal to 50% of the remaining contract balance. Other plan types and local laws may differ. If you started a seven-day trial and do not want the paid subscription, cancel before the trial ends.

Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. Coinepay services are not available in every jurisdiction, and services related to virtual assets are not available to residents of mainland China. For a question about your card or account, use Coinepay support; for a question about the Lightroom plan, charge or cancellation terms, contact Adobe.

Lightroom (1TB) and Photography (1TB) both include Lightroom Classic. Photography (1TB) also includes Photoshop.

Will Adobe charge me after a Lightroom free trial?

Adobe says its seven-day trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Check the terms and charge shown at checkout.

Where do I update my card for an existing Lightroom subscription?

For an Adobe-billed plan, sign in at account.adobe.com and go to Plans and payment → Change payment. If Apple or Google bills you, update payment through that store.

Why did Adobe decline my Coinepay virtual card?

Can I cancel an annual Lightroom plan billed monthly at any time?
