Zen (ZEN.COM) is a European money account that your recipient opens and tops up on their phone, with their balance linked to a registered mobile number. If you are working or living abroad and want to support family, pay a friend back, or settle a small personal bill in Europe, you can use Coinepay Global Remittance to send funds toward a Zen account. This guide explains what Zen is, exactly which recipient details you need, how to complete the transfer in the Coinepay app, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Where Zen is used and in what currency

Zen accounts are operated across the European Economic Area, so the destination will normally be a European country. Depending on where your recipient lives, their account is held in a local currency: euro (EUR) in countries such as Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the Baltic states, and in national currencies elsewhere — for example Polish zloty (PLN), Czech koruna (CZK), Hungarian forint (HUF), Danish krone (DKK), Romanian leu (RON), Norwegian krone (NOK) and Swedish krona (SEK). Several of those countries can also receive EUR.

Because a Zen account is tied to a registered phone number, it behaves like a mobile wallet. In the Coinepay app you choose the destination country first, then pick the payout method. Not every wallet is available for every corridor, so always check the available payout options for your recipient's country inside the app before you rely on this method.

What you need from your recipient

Getting the recipient details exactly right is the single most important step. Incorrect information is the most common cause of a failed or misdirected payment. Ask your recipient for:

  • The phone number linked to their Zen account, with the international country code — for example +48 for Poland or +34 for Spain. This is the identifier the money is routed to, so a missing or wrong digit sends it to the wrong place.
  • Their full name exactly as it is registered on the Zen account. The name on the transfer must match the name on the receiving account; nicknames, missing middle names or a different spelling can hold up or block the credit.
  • The destination country and the account currency they expect to receive.

Confirm these details with your recipient directly — ideally by reading them back — rather than relying on an old message. If your recipient is unsure which number is linked to their account, they can check it in the Zen app settings.

Before you start

If you are new to Coinepay, create an account and finish identity verification (KYC) first. You can register here and download the app for iOS or Android. Verification is required before you can send, and remittances are also subject to sanctions screening and local regulations. For a cross-border personal transfer, Coinepay may ask you to confirm the purpose of the payment or the source of your funds, so have that information ready. Use your own real identity and details; do not send on behalf of someone else to get around a check.

Step by step: send to a Zen account

  1. Open Coinepay and start a new transfer. Go to Global Remittance in the app or the self-service dashboard and choose Send money.
  2. Select the destination country. Pick the European country where your recipient's Zen account is held.
  3. Choose the payout method. Select the mobile wallet / account payout option that reaches your recipient's Zen account. If Zen is listed for that country, choose it; if you are unsure, check the available options or contact support before paying.
  4. Enter the amount and recipient details. Type the amount you want to send or the amount your recipient should receive, then enter the registered phone number with its country code and the full name exactly as registered.
  5. Review the exchange rate and fees. Coinepay shows the rate, the fees and the estimated arrival time on screen before you confirm. Read this summary carefully — check the amount your recipient will get and the currency — and only continue if it looks correct.
  6. Confirm and pay. Approve the transfer. You may be asked to complete a security check or provide supporting information at this stage.
  7. Track the transfer. Every Coinepay transfer has status tracking. Open the transfer in your history to follow it from sent to delivered, and keep the reference for your records.

How fast it arrives and what the recipient sees

Coinepay transfers can arrive in as little as 10 minutes, but the actual time depends on the payout method and the destination country, which is why the app shows an estimated arrival time before you confirm. When the funds land, the credit appears in your recipient's Zen balance and they typically get an in-app notification. They can then spend from the account or move the money as they normally would.

Receiving limits and account verification

Zen applies its own receiving and balance limits, and these vary by country and by the recipient's account verification level. A newer or lightly verified account can usually hold and receive less than a fully verified one. If you are sending a larger amount, ask your recipient to confirm in their Zen app that their account can receive it and that their verification is complete; otherwise the incoming funds can be delayed or returned. These Zen-side limits are separate from any limits Coinepay applies to your own account, which you can see in the Coinepay app.

Troubleshooting

Wrong phone number

If you entered the wrong number or your recipient hasn't received the money, do not resend immediately. Open the transfer in Coinepay, check its status, and contact Coinepay support with the transfer reference so they can trace it or arrange a return where possible. Double-check the country code before any resend.

Name mismatch

If the name you entered does not match the name on the Zen account, the credit can be held or rejected. Reconfirm the recipient's full registered name and have support update or reissue the transfer with the correct details.

Wallet limit reached

If your recipient's Zen account has hit a receiving or balance limit, the money may be blocked until there is room. Ask them to check their limit and verification level in the Zen app; you may need to wait until the limit resets or send a smaller amount.

Unverified wallet

An account that hasn't finished Zen's verification may be unable to receive the funds. Ask your recipient to complete their Zen verification, then check the transfer status in Coinepay.

Compliance review

Cross-border transfers are screened against sanctions lists and local rules, so a transfer may be paused for review. If Coinepay asks for the purpose of the payment, your relationship to the recipient, or the source of funds, respond promptly and accurately — this is a normal part of the process and the fastest way to release a held transfer.

Coinepay sends to every country and region except those under comprehensive sanctions, and all customers and counterparties are screened. Never try to split a transfer, use a third party, or otherwise avoid these checks. If you are unsure whether a corridor or payout method is available for your recipient, ask before you pay.

For questions about a specific transfer, reach the team through Coinepay support or the Coinepay Telegram channel. The dashboard and app are available 24/7 so you can start, track and manage transfers whenever you need to.

FAQ

What details do I need to send money to someone's Zen account?

You need the phone number linked to their Zen account including the international country code (for example +48), their full name exactly as registered on the account, and the destination country and currency. Confirm these directly with your recipient before sending.

How long does a Coinepay transfer to a Zen account take?

Transfers can arrive in as little as 10 minutes, but the actual time depends on the payout method and the destination country. Coinepay shows an estimated arrival time before you confirm the transfer.

How much can my recipient receive in their Zen account?

Zen sets its own receiving and balance limits, which vary by country and by the recipient's verification level. Ask your recipient to confirm their limits and that verification is complete in the Zen app, especially for larger amounts.

What happens if I enter the wrong phone number or a name that doesn't match?

The transfer can fail or be misdirected. Don't resend right away — open the transfer in Coinepay to check its status and contact Coinepay support with the reference so they can trace it or arrange a return where possible.

Why is my transfer being reviewed?

All cross-border transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may ask for the purpose of the payment or the source of funds. Responding promptly and accurately is the quickest way to release a held transfer.
