Viber Out lets you call eligible phone numbers through the Viber app. You can buy a monthly calling plan or pay-as-you-go World Credit, but the payment route matters: Viber’s direct-card checkout and purchases through Google Play or the App Store have different requirements. Here’s how to choose an offer, check whether your Coinepay virtual card is suitable, and complete the purchase.

Choose the Viber Out product you need

Start with the country you want to call, not the country you are calling from. Viber offers a World Unlimited Plan covering 60 specified countries, plus Unlimited Country Plans and Minutes Country Plans for selected destinations. Check the destination and eligible number types before paying: plans cover eligible mobile and landline numbers, not special, premium, non-geographic or satellite numbers. Unlimited plans are subject to fair usage.

  • World Unlimited Plan: A monthly subscription for calls to its specified destinations. A public USD offer displayed a one-week free trial followed by $5.99 per month at the time of writing (October 2026). The trial is available once per customer and becomes a paid subscription unless cancelled.
  • Country plans: Availability and included minutes depend on the destination. For example, the public USD page displayed a Minutes Country Plan for calls to the Philippines with 120 minutes for $9.99 per month at the time of writing (October 2026).
  • World Credit: Pay-as-you-go calling credit, not a subscription. Per-minute charges depend on the destination and the type of number called.

Those example USD prices describe calls to the named destinations; they are not prices verified for buyers located there. The currency displayed can depend on the region of your registered phone number. Check Viber’s official Viber Out pricing page and your checkout screen for the offer, currency, taxes and renewal terms that apply to you.

What to check before checkout

You need a Viber account associated with a phone number you can verify by SMS, the Viber app to use your purchase, and an available plan or credit pack for your intended destination. If you want to use Coinepay card services, first register with Coinepay and complete identity verification. Your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV are available after issuance in Coinepay’s self-service dashboard or mobile app.

Check the direct-card restriction before you buy: Viber identifies Visa and Mastercard credit cards as accepted for direct payment on its website, desktop and Android. Do not assume a Coinepay virtual card meets that requirement. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Viber’s stated requirement before you buy. If you purchase through Google Play or the App Store instead, confirm the store’s payment requirements and whether your card can be added to the account that will be charged. A card that can be entered in a store account is not a promise that a particular transaction will be approved.

Make sure the available balance can cover the amount displayed at checkout and, for a subscription, consider its future renewals. Use your real phone number, identity and billing details. Do not change your stated region or billing address to work around a checkout restriction.

How to buy Viber Out on the website

  1. Open Viber’s official Viber Out website and choose the destination you want to call. Review the available World Unlimited Plan, country plan or World Credit offer, including eligible numbers and any recurring charge.
  2. Choose the product. You can select one before creating a website account. Enter your phone number and verify it with the SMS code Viber sends.
  3. At checkout, review the displayed currency, total and subscription terms. Select an available payment type. If you choose direct card payment, proceed only after confirming your Coinepay card meets Viber’s stated credit-card requirement.
  4. Enter the card number, expiry date, CVV and your real billing information as requested. Complete any payment verification presented, then confirm the purchase only after checking the final details.
  5. Open the Viber app using the matching phone number to use your purchase. If you also want a website account for viewing history, complete Viber’s phone-number and SMS verification, then add an email address and password. The website account links to the app profile when the phone numbers match.

A successful purchase does not expand the destinations or number types covered by your plan. Check the plan description and calling rate before placing a call, particularly when using World Credit.

How checkout works in the Viber phone app

In Viber, go to More → Viber Out, search for the country you want to call, and choose a plan or credit pack. On iPhone, purchases go through the App Store. On Android, checkout can go through Google Play, and a direct-card option may also be available. Follow the payment flow you actually select: a card saved with Google Play is managed through Google Play, while a card entered for direct payment follows Viber’s direct-card requirements.

If paying through Google Play, check which Google account is the device’s default. Viber says that is the account charged, and a purchase may not proceed if it has no payment card attached. Viber also limits card purchases of Viber Out through Google Play to its listed countries. That list is a restriction on this purchase channel, not a list of every place from which Viber Out can be used.

What to do if the card or purchase is declined

First identify whether the failure occurred at Viber’s direct-card checkout, Google Play or the App Store. The messages below are documented for Google Play purchases; they are not direct-card error messages.

What you see or suspectWhat to check next
Insufficient balance or an expired cardCompare the displayed checkout total with the card’s available balance, and check the expiry date you entered. Viber names insufficient funds and expired cards as possible causes of a Google Play “failed transaction.” If the reason remains unclear, ask the payment provider or Coinepay support to review the decline.
Billing address mismatchCheck for entry mistakes and use your genuine billing details. If the information is correct but payment still fails, contact the payment provider or Coinepay support rather than trying an unrelated address.
3-D Secure or another verification step does not finishReturn to checkout and follow any authentication prompt shown. Keep the app or browser open until the result appears. If verification repeatedly fails, contact Coinepay support with the time and payment route; do not share your CVV or verification code.
Region or payment-channel restrictionFor Google Play’s “in-app purchases are not available” message, check whether Viber supports that purchase channel in your country. Also check that your default Google account has a payment card attached. For a direct-card attempt, confirm the card meets Viber’s stated credit-card requirement before retrying. Do not use false regional details to bypass a restriction.

If a Google Play attempt says “failed transaction,” Viber advises checking with the payment provider for the specific decline reason. For any route, avoid repeated attempts until you know whether a charge went through. Check your Viber purchase history and payment account first, then give the relevant support team the date, amount and payment route—never the full card number or CVV.

Manage renewals, credit and purchase history

Viber Out plans renew monthly using the original payment method. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before renewal; access continues through the current billing cycle. In the Viber phone app, go to More → Viber Out → the plan → Cancel plan for a direct-card plan. For a store-billed plan, choose Manage plan there and finish cancellation in Google Play or the App Store. Uninstalling or deactivating Viber does not cancel a subscription.

To review website purchase history, sign in at account.viber.com and open Activity → Payments. Viber’s Settings → Payment settings includes the World Credit auto-top-up checkbox; review it if you do not want automatic credit purchases. Country-plan minutes do not roll over. World Credit generally carries forward but is frozen after six months without use and can be reactivated; separate expiry rules apply to credit bought by users in Japan or with a +81 number.

Viber says purchases are generally final and non-refundable, subject to law and stated exceptions; partial subscription periods are generally not refunded. Report a charge you believe is erroneous to Viber within 90 days. App-store purchases follow the relevant store’s refund terms.

FAQ

Can I pay for Viber Out directly with my Coinepay virtual card?

Viber identifies Visa and Mastercard credit cards for direct payment. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before buying; acceptance of a particular payment is not assured.

Is World Credit a monthly subscription?

No. World Credit is pay-as-you-go calling credit. Check the rate for your destination and number type before calling.

Why does Google Play say “in-app purchases are not available”?

Viber documents this message when merchant purchases through Google Play are unsupported in the buyer’s country. Check Viber’s Google Play purchase availability; do not change your regional details to bypass the restriction.

How do I stop a Viber Out plan renewing?

Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. In Viber, go to More → Viber Out → the plan. Choose Cancel plan for direct-card billing, or Manage plan and complete cancellation in the relevant app store.
