You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at Leonardo AI’s card checkout when subscribing to a paid plan. This guide covers what to prepare, how to complete the subscription in the Leonardo app, and what to check if the payment does not go through. Card acceptance depends on Leonardo’s checkout and payment checks.

What you need before subscribing

  • A Leonardo AI account: You can create one with your email or an available single sign-on option, then log in to the Leonardo app.
  • A Coinepay account with identity verification completed: Register and complete KYC before using Coinepay card services. Coinepay provides your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV in its app or self-service dashboard.
  • Enough available funds: Check the amount shown at Leonardo’s checkout, including any applicable tax. If your funding and checkout currencies differ, allow for the amount you may need to cover the purchase; check the Coinepay app or ask support if you are unsure.
  • Your real billing details: Have the name and billing address associated with your payment details ready. Enter them accurately if checkout requests them.

Check the Coinepay app for card availability and any applicable spending limits before you start. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction.

Choose the right Leonardo AI plan

Leonardo’s current solo plan names are Free, Essential, Premium and Ultimate. At the time of writing (October 2026), its public pricing page listed Free at $0 and monthly prices of $12 for Essential, $30 for Premium and $60 for Ultimate, excluding tax. Its yearly-billing comparison quoted Essential at $10, Premium at $24 and Ultimate at $48 per month when billed yearly. These figures can change: check Leonardo’s official pricing page and the final checkout amount before confirming.

The checkout amount matters more than the comparison price. In the app, you choose Monthly or Yearly billing before subscribing, so check which billing period is selected and what will be charged now. Leonardo subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. An upgrade takes effect immediately with a prorated charge; a downgrade takes effect at the next billing cycle.

If you are purchasing for a team, Leonardo lists Starter and Growth team tiers, as well as a custom Team option by enquiry. Team billing has different permissions: only the Team Owner and Super Admins can manage billing and invoices. Leonardo’s separate API offerings are Pay as you go and API Custom; do not assume a solo subscription is the same purchase as API access.

How to pay for a Leonardo AI subscription

  1. Get your Coinepay card ready. Register with Coinepay if you have not already, complete identity verification, and open the card details in the Coinepay app or dashboard. Confirm you have enough funds for the amount you expect to pay.
  2. Sign in to Leonardo AI. On Leonardo’s official site, choose Create an account if you are new, using email or an offered single sign-on method. Then log in to the Leonardo app.
  3. Pick a plan. In the app, open Plans, choose Monthly or Yearly, and select Subscribe for the plan you want.
  4. Review the confirmation. Check the plan, billing period and cost shown. Choose Card to continue to the Stripe card checkout. Leonardo’s subscription guidance also describes PayPal as an option, but its availability may vary; this guide follows the card route.
  5. Enter your payment information. Use the card number, expiry date and CVV shown by Coinepay. Enter your genuine billing information wherever requested, then review the total, including tax if applicable.
  6. Complete any verification and confirm. If checkout asks for a security challenge, follow the instructions displayed. Do not close the checkout until you have seen its result. Return to Leonardo and verify your subscription status before attempting the payment again.

A card being available in Coinepay does not guarantee that Leonardo will accept a particular transaction. If checkout states a card-type or card-issuance-country requirement, follow that requirement rather than repeatedly retrying. Contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before you buy.

How to update a card or check billing later

For a personal subscription, go to Settings → Workspace Settings → Subscription and Billing in Leonardo. Under Payment Details, select Update Payment Method. This opens Stripe, where you can add a card and set it as the default payment method. Check that the change appears in your billing settings; updating a card is separate from paying any outstanding charge.

For Teams, select the relevant team under Settings → Workspace Settings → Subscription & Billing. If you cannot manage its payment details or invoices, ask the Team Owner or a Super Admin. Keep card details in the payment form rather than sending them to a colleague in a message.

What to check if Leonardo declines your card

A failed attempt does not identify its cause by itself. Read the checkout message, check whether Leonardo shows an active subscription, and avoid submitting multiple payments while a transaction is still being resolved.

  • Insufficient funds: Compare your available Coinepay funds with the final amount at checkout, including tax where applicable. Add funds through the options available in your Coinepay account before trying again. If the amounts appear sufficient but the payment still fails, contact Coinepay support with the transaction time and amount.
  • Billing address or card-detail mismatch: Re-enter the card number, expiry date and CVV carefully. Check that any billing name and address are your real details and match the information applicable to your payment method. Do not substitute an address from another region to get around a checkout check.
  • 3-D Secure or another authentication step: If checkout requests verification, complete the prompt shown and return to the checkout result. If the prompt does not appear, expires or fails, restart only after checking the transaction status. Coinepay support can help you investigate a card-side verification problem; Leonardo support can help with an unresolved checkout state.
  • Merchant region or card eligibility checks: A payment can be rejected because of the merchant’s applicable region or card requirements. Use your real location and billing information. If Leonardo specifies an eligible card type or issuance country, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets that requirement before retrying. Neither a virtual card nor a different billing address should be used to bypass a restriction.

Leonardo specifically documents the message “Check-plan-subscription-status subscription count is higher than 1” after an incomplete card transaction, generally following a bank decline. Its guidance is to check available funds or ask the bank about the decline; it says the error normally clears after about 24 hours. Check your subscription and transaction status before another attempt. If the message persists, contact Leonardo support and provide the account email and relevant payment details, but not your full card number or CVV.

Cancellation and refund questions

To cancel a personal plan, go to Settings → Workspace Settings → Subscription and Billing → Your Plan → Cancel Plan → Proceed with Cancellation. Leonardo says access continues until the next renewal date. The plan then changes to Free, and unused subscription tokens expire. Check the displayed renewal date and retain the cancellation confirmation.

Leonardo’s refund policy covers subscriptions and token purchases, including issues such as faults, misdescription, persistent access problems or undelivered tokens. A simple change of mind may not qualify, subject to applicable consumer law. Refund requests receive manual assessment. Use Leonardo’s in-app Talk to a person option or email [email protected]; give “Billing” as the reason and include your Leonardo account email. For a Coinepay card transaction you do not recognize, contact Coinepay support as well.
