GetResponse is an email marketing and automation platform used to build lists, send newsletters and run campaigns. If you want to upgrade from the free tier to a paid plan, you will need a card that works for recurring online international payments. This guide explains how to pay for GetResponse with a Coinepay virtual card, from creating the card to completing checkout, and how to handle the most common reasons a card is declined.
What you need before you start
- A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. You can register here and manage everything from the iOS app, the Android app or the web dashboard.
- A Coinepay virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV, which appear instantly in your dashboard after the card is issued.
- Enough balance on the card to cover the first billing period plus any applicable tax.
- Your real billing details (name, address, country) — GetResponse checks that these match the card.
- A GetResponse account. The Free plan requires no card at signup, so you can register first and add payment only when you upgrade.
GetResponse lists Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Maestro, JCB and American Express as accepted brands, and also supports Apple Pay and Google Pay. It requires that your card permits recurring and online international transactions. If you are unsure whether your Coinepay card meets the recurring-payment requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.
Choose your GetResponse plan
GetResponse offers a Free plan and three standard paid plans: Starter, Marketer and Creator. Each paid plan has contact-list tiers of 1,000, 2,500, 5,000, 10,000, 25,000, 50,000 and 100,000 contacts. There is also an Enterprise option under the GetResponse MAX offering, which uses a demo and custom-quote process rather than self-service checkout.
At the time of writing (October 2026), the US-dollar price for the starting 1,000-contact tier on monthly billing was $19 for Starter, $59 for Marketer and $69 for Creator; billed annually these work out to roughly $15.58, $48.38 and $56.58 per month. Displayed prices are shown before applicable taxes, and prices and currencies vary by region, so always confirm the current figure on the official GetResponse pricing page before paying. GetResponse lists EUR, USD, GBP and PLN as payment currencies.
The Free plan lists 500 contacts and 2,500 newsletters per month, and new accounts can try premium features for 14 days without a card.
Step-by-step: create your Coinepay card and pay
- Issue your virtual card in Coinepay. Open the Coinepay app or dashboard, create a virtual card, and note the card number, expiry and CVV. Top it up so it covers the first period and tax.
- Log in to GetResponse. If you only have a Free account, that is fine — you add payment at upgrade time.
- Go to Profile → Upgrade account. Choose Starter, Marketer or Creator, then pick your contact list size.
- Select your billing cycle. Choose monthly billing or the 12-month prepayment, which is advertised with an 18% discount.
- Enter account and payment details. Type the Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV, and enter the billing address exactly as it appears in your Coinepay profile.
- Select Upgrade Account. Payment is taken for the initial paid period, and the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before renewal.
- Complete any bank authentication. An EU-initiated online payment may require an extra confirmation step such as a one-time code after checkout. This is a normal 3-D Secure step, not a decline.
To store a card without upgrading immediately, go to Profile → Billing, then Billing Details → Add credit card and enter the billing address and payment information. Note that changing the payment method type (rather than adding or removing a card) requires a request to GetResponse support.
Managing billing and invoices
All billing controls live under Profile → Billing. You will find past invoices in Billing → Billing history. Keep in mind that your charge can rise if your peak active-subscriber count or the number of contacts you add during a billing month exceeds the tier you purchased, so choose a list size that fits your actual usage.
Troubleshooting: why a card gets declined
GetResponse names several transaction-failure reasons. The exact wording you see on screen may vary, but these are the causes to check first.
| Cause | What to do |
|---|---|
| Insufficient balance / credit limit exceeded | Top up your Coinepay card so it covers the full first period plus tax, then retry. |
| Billing address does not match the card | Make sure the address at checkout matches your Coinepay profile exactly, including country and postal code. |
| Online or international use disabled | GetResponse requires a card that allows online international transactions. Confirm your card settings in Coinepay. |
| Recurring payments not allowed | Subscriptions renew automatically, so the card must permit recurring charges. Contact Coinepay support if you are unsure. |
| Issuer security decline | Retry, and if it continues, check your Coinepay dashboard for any security hold and reach out to support. |
| Extra authentication required | For EU payments, complete the one-time bank confirmation prompt. This is not a decline. |
If a charge still fails after you have checked the above, review the card status and any notifications in your Coinepay dashboard, then try again. You can reach Coinepay through the support page or Telegram.
A note on payment options and regions
GetResponse limits some payment methods by country. PayPal is available only in certain countries (its eligible list includes Germany, Italy, India and South Africa, but not the US or UK), PayU is listed for Poland and India, and SEPA Direct Debit for Germany. These regional limits concern payment options and features rather than who can open an account. Paying by card keeps the process consistent regardless of these method-specific restrictions, provided your card meets the recurring and international requirements above.
Cancellation and refunds
To cancel a paid plan, use a web browser and go to Profile → Billing → Cancel plan, then complete the confirmations. Self-service cancellation requires no outstanding balance and no excess contacts, and it is not available in the mobile app. Your account stays active through the period you already paid for. Cancellation normally stops future renewals without refunding a period that has already been charged; GetResponse's terms describe a pro-rata exception only if GetResponse ends the subscription without cause. Enterprise/MAX agreements have separate termination terms.
Because GetResponse renews automatically, set a reminder before your renewal date if you do not intend to continue. For the most current plan names, prices and tax treatment in your country, always check GetResponse's official pricing and help pages before you pay.
