Fireflies.ai is a meeting assistant that records, transcribes and summarizes calls. If you want to upgrade from the Free plan to a paid tier, you pay at the Fireflies checkout with a card. This guide shows how to set up a Coinepay virtual card, complete the Fireflies sign-up and checkout, and troubleshoot the most common reasons a card gets declined.
What you need before you start
Fireflies processes payments through Stripe and, according to its billing FAQ, accepts credit and debit cards from Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Before you reach the checkout, make sure you have:
- A verified Coinepay account. You must register and complete identity verification (KYC) before you can use card services. Services related to virtual assets are not available to residents of mainland China, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction.
- A Coinepay virtual card. Once issued, you get the card number, expiry date and CVV instantly in the Coinepay app or dashboard.
- Enough balance on the card to cover the plan price plus any tax Fireflies adds at checkout.
- Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address that match your Coinepay account, because a mismatch is a common decline cause.
Fireflies requires a valid billing address in a country you select during its purchase flow. A complete list of supported countries is not published, and whether a card issued in a particular country will pass checkout is not something we can guarantee. If you are unsure your card meets a requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.
Fireflies.ai plans and prices
Fireflies lists four core plans: Free, Pro, Business and Enterprise. At the time of writing (October 2026), the USD prices shown on the Fireflies pricing page were:
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per seat) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 |
| Pro | US$18 / seat | US$10 / seat/month (US$120/year) |
| Business | US$29 / seat | US$19 / seat/month (US$228/year) |
| Enterprise | — | US$39 / seat/month, annual only (US$468/year) |
Enterprise is sold by contacting Fireflies. AI Credits are a separate paid add-on rather than a core plan, with packages starting at US$5/month for 50 credits in the October 2026 billing guide. These are the USD-listed figures seen on the day of research; taxes may be added and local-currency checkout prices are not confirmed. Always check the official Fireflies pricing page for the current amount in your region before you pay.
Step 1: Create or sign in to your Fireflies account
On fireflies.ai, choose Get Started and sign in with Google or Microsoft, then complete onboarding. New workspaces start on Free. An optional seven-day trial is offered on the Business plan (not Pro); if you close that offer, you simply stay on Free.
Step 2: Add your Coinepay card and choose a plan
How you reach checkout depends on what you want:
- Starting the trial: the trial checkout asks you to choose monthly or annual billing and enter your card number, expiry, security code and country. It shows a $0.00 charge today and bills the selected plan after seven days unless you cancel. Selecting Subscribe now during a trial ends the trial and charges immediately.
- Upgrading directly: an ordinary plan upgrade asks the Billing Admin to review seats, billing cycle, price and card before payment is taken.
When entering card details, copy the number, expiry and CVV exactly from your Coinepay app. Enter the billing country and address that match your Coinepay account.
Step 3: Confirm and check your receipt
Review the seat count, billing cycle and total, then confirm. After payment, a saved card marked Active pays future invoices. You can find your billing tools at dashboard → Settings → Billing: saved cards are under Payment and receipts under Billing History. Note that billing access is limited to billing or workspace administrators, and only the Billing Admin can manage cards.
Step 4: Manage or replace the card later
To change the card that pays your renewal, add a new card under Payment and mark it Active. An active paid subscription will not let you remove its sole default card, but you can add a replacement first and then switch the active card over.
Troubleshooting: why a card gets declined
If Fireflies shows a message such as "Your card was declined" or "Payment failed," work through the common causes below. Because Fireflies runs on Stripe, the processor-level reasons Stripe lists apply here too.
Insufficient balance
Stripe flags insufficient funds as a frequent decline reason. Confirm your Coinepay card holds enough to cover the plan price plus any tax. Top up in the Coinepay app and try again. Remember annual plans charge the full year at once.
Billing address mismatch
If the billing address or name on the Fireflies form does not match the details registered to your card, the payment can be rejected. Re-enter your real Coinepay billing details and make sure the country field matches your card's billing country.
3-D Secure / authentication required
Stripe may require extra authentication before approving a charge. If a verification step appears, complete it. Keep your Coinepay app open so you can approve any prompt or view a one-time confirmation, then retry the payment.
Incorrect or expired card details
A single wrong digit in the card number, expiry or CVV will stop the charge. Re-copy each field from the Coinepay app. If your virtual card has been replaced, use the current details.
Card type or region checks
Fireflies accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, but merchants and their processor can still apply their own checks, and a public user report noted an American Express card being declined on a Fireflies attempt (the cause was not confirmed). Fireflies also requires a billing address in a country selectable in its checkout. If your card keeps failing and the details are correct, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card is set up for international online purchases, and check with Fireflies that your billing country is supported.
Cancellations and refunds
To cancel a paid plan, go to Settings → Account → Subscriptions → Cancel and complete the confirmation prompts. Paid access runs to the end of the current period, then the workspace moves to Free. Under the terms dated September 28, 2026, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next recurring charge.
The Fireflies refund-policy article describes a full monthly-plan refund when the subscription is at most seven days old and no more than three meetings were logged, and a full annual-plan refund within seven days with no more than 20 meetings (annual plans have no prorated refunds). AI Credits purchases are non-refundable. Request a subscription refund via dashboard → purple chat widget → Contact Support; Fireflies says approved refunds return to the original payment method in 5–10 business days and require a saved card. Note that one Fireflies account-management article states subscriptions are not refunded while the dedicated refund-policy article sets out eligibility rules, so check the refund-policy article and confirm your case with Fireflies support.
Get the Coinepay app
You can issue and manage your virtual card from the 24/7 self-service dashboard or the mobile app on iOS and Google Play. For help with your card, reach Coinepay support or our Telegram, and learn more at the Coinepay home page.
