Before sending money from abroad to a MaldivesPay account, confirm that the recipient can receive international wallet transfers and that MaldivesPay appears as a payout option in Coinepay. We could not verify official MaldivesPay instructions or terms, so do not select a different wallet simply because it serves the Maldives. This guide explains what to check with the recipient and how to proceed if the intended payout option is available.
Confirm the country, currency and wallet
The Maldives is the destination country for a recipient who uses a wallet there, and the Maldivian rufiyaa (MVR) is the country’s local currency. That does not establish which currency a MaldivesPay account holds or can receive. Ask the recipient to check their wallet’s account details or official support information for its supported receiving currency and whether it accepts transfers from abroad.
Likewise, do not assume that every mobile wallet in the Maldives is listed in Coinepay. Payout methods can be checked when setting up a transfer in the Coinepay app or dashboard. If MaldivesPay is not shown by name, or the available option does not clearly correspond to the recipient’s account, pause and contact Coinepay support. A bank account or another wallet is not an interchangeable destination.
Get the recipient’s details before you start
Ask the recipient to read the following information from their wallet account screen, rather than from an old message or a saved contact. Share sensitive details through a channel you both trust:
- Full registered name: the recipient’s name exactly as it appears on their wallet account, including the spelling and order of names.
- Wallet identifier: the registered phone number or account ID, whichever the selected payout option requests. Do not substitute a phone number for an account ID if the transfer form asks for an ID.
- Destination and receiving currency: confirmation of the country associated with the wallet and the currency the account can receive.
- Account readiness: confirmation that the wallet is active, appropriately verified and able to accept the expected payment.
Ask the recipient to confirm the required phone-number format from their wallet instructions or the Coinepay transfer form. Do not guess whether a country code is needed. A number that looks familiar in your contacts may still be different from the one registered to the wallet.
How to send if MaldivesPay is an available payout option
- Sign in to Coinepay. If you are new, register for Coinepay and complete any identity checks requested for the transfer. Individuals and businesses can use Coinepay Global Remittance, subject to the applicable checks and availability.
- Start a cross-border transfer. Choose the Maldives as the destination only after confirming that it is the recipient’s actual account country. Enter the amount you want to send using the options presented in the app.
- Choose the payout method. Select mobile wallet and then MaldivesPay only if that specific option appears. If it does not appear, stop rather than choosing a similarly named service. Ask Coinepay support whether the recipient’s wallet is an available payout destination.
- Enter the recipient information. Use the registered phone number or account ID requested on the form and the recipient’s full name exactly as registered. Supply any additional information the app requests, such as the purpose of the transfer. Check every character with the recipient before continuing.
- Review the transfer. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm. Check the destination, payout method, recipient details, amount and receiving currency shown on the review screen. If the receiving currency differs from what the recipient expects, do not confirm until you have checked why.
- Confirm and track. Confirm only when the details are correct. Use the transfer’s status tracking in Coinepay and keep its reference information in case you need help. A submitted transfer is not the same as money already received.
Coinepay transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may request documents about the purpose of a payment or the source of funds. Provide accurate information and follow the instructions shown in your account; do not try to route a transfer through someone else’s wallet to avoid a check.
How the recipient checks for the money
Once Coinepay shows the transfer as delivered, ask the recipient to sign in to the wallet they identified and check its balance, transaction history and any notifications. The exact display, notification wording and time at which MaldivesPay posts an incoming payment have not been verified. The recipient should rely on their own account record, not solely on a screenshot or a message saying the transfer was sent.
If the recipient cannot see the funds, compare their registered name and wallet identifier with the details on the Coinepay transfer record. Check the tracked status before sending again: a pending transfer may still be under review, while a delivered status with no matching wallet entry needs investigation. Give Coinepay support the transfer reference and ask the recipient to contact their wallet provider through its official support channel if needed.
Check wallet verification and receiving limits
We could not verify MaldivesPay’s account verification levels or wallet limits. The recipient should check the current requirements in their wallet account or with its official support team before you send. In particular, ask whether their account’s verification status allows incoming international transfers and whether the intended payment would exceed a receiving or balance limit. Do not rely on limits published for another Maldivian wallet or bank product: those rules may not apply to this account.
Coinepay may also request information from the sender before a transfer can proceed. If the recipient needs to complete wallet verification, wait until that process is complete rather than repeatedly submitting the same payment. If a receiving limit is the obstacle, ask the wallet provider what legitimate options are available; do not split payments to evade a limit or reporting requirement.
Troubleshooting a wallet transfer
Wrong phone number or account ID
If you notice a typo before confirmation, correct it and review the entire recipient entry again. If you have already confirmed, check the transfer status and contact Coinepay support promptly with the reference. Ask whether any correction or recall is possible; do not assume a submitted transfer can be cancelled or recovered. Avoid making a replacement payment until you understand what happened to the first one.
Name mismatch
Ask the recipient to check the full registered name in their wallet, including any middle or family names, then compare it with what you entered. Use their real registered details. If the transfer is already submitted or Coinepay requests clarification, respond through the app or support rather than entering a different person’s name.
Wallet limit reached or account unverified
Ask the recipient to review any notice in their wallet and contact its official support team for the applicable account requirements. A wallet may be unable to accept a payment until its holder completes verification or resolves an account restriction. Coinepay support can help check the status of the transfer, but the recipient’s wallet provider is best placed to explain its own account rules.
Compliance review or delayed delivery
Follow the transfer status in Coinepay and respond to any request for identity, source-of-funds or payment-purpose documents. Actual delivery depends on the payout method and destination country. Coinepay screens customers and counterparties against sanctions lists and does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions. If a review remains unresolved, contact Coinepay support with the transfer reference; do not resend through another person to bypass the review.

FAQ
Can I select MaldivesPay in Coinepay?
Check the mobile-wallet options shown for your recipient’s destination in Coinepay. Select MaldivesPay only if it is listed clearly; otherwise, contact Coinepay support before sending.
What details do I need from the recipient?
Get their full name exactly as registered and the registered phone number or account ID requested by the payout form. Confirm the wallet’s receiving currency and account readiness too.
Does a MaldivesPay wallet receive MVR?
MVR is the Maldives’ local currency, but MaldivesPay’s supported receiving currency has not been verified. Ask the recipient to check their wallet account or official support information.
What if I entered the wrong wallet number?
Correct it before confirming. If you already submitted the transfer, check its status and contact Coinepay support promptly with the transfer reference; correction or recovery cannot be assumed.
