Coinepay Global Remittance supports transfers from Singapore to Indonesia. You can choose an available bank deposit, mobile wallet or cash pickup payout, then review the exchange rate and fees before confirming. This guide explains what to ask your recipient for, how Indonesian payout details differ by method and what to do if a transfer needs attention.

What you need before sending

Start with a Coinepay account that has completed identity verification. You can manage transfers through the Coinepay mobile app or 24/7 self-service dashboard. If you have not registered, create an account and complete the verification steps before starting your transfer.

Ask the recipient for their full legal name as it appears on their bank account, wallet registration or identity document, plus the details for the payout method they want to use. Confirm those details directly with the recipient rather than copying them from an old transfer. You may also need to provide the reason for the payment and information about your relationship with the recipient.

The local currency is the Indonesian rupiah (IDR). In the transfer flow, select Indonesia as the destination and check the sending and receiving currencies displayed in the app. The available options and recipient information requested can depend on the payout method.

Choose a payout method in Indonesia

Coinepay supports bank deposit, mobile wallet and cash pickup as local payout methods. Choose the option shown for your transfer and collect the matching recipient details before you confirm. Do not enter bank details in wallet fields, or assume that a wallet phone number is enough for a bank deposit.

Bank account deposit

For an Indonesian bank deposit, have the recipient’s full legal account name, bank name and account number ready. Indonesian account numbers vary by bank and account type; they are commonly 7–18 digits. Copy the number exactly as the recipient’s bank provides it, including any leading zeros. Bank deposits may be made to personal or business accounts, subject to the details and checks required for the transfer.

Indonesia does not use a national IBAN format. If a form asks for an account number, use the recipient’s actual Indonesian account number; do not make up an IBAN. For a transfer routed using international bank details, you may also be asked for the beneficiary bank’s SWIFT/BIC, the beneficiary’s address and the payment purpose. If the Coinepay flow asks for a local bank code or another bank identifier, get the exact value from the recipient or their bank rather than guessing. Follow the fields presented for the payout you selected: a local bank deposit and an international bank transfer may ask for different information.

Mobile wallet

Indonesian mobile wallet examples include DANA, GoPay, OVO and ShopeePay. Check which wallets are displayed for your transfer in Coinepay before telling the recipient to expect a particular option; availability can vary by provider and transfer. Ask the recipient which wallet they actively use, the full legal name associated with it and the registered mobile number in international format beginning with +62. Enter the wallet and number exactly as requested in the payout form.

The recipient should check that their wallet account is active and able to receive the payment under that provider’s rules. Wallet registration or verification requirements can differ, so the recipient should consult their wallet provider if they are unsure which name or number is on file.

Cash pickup

Cash pickup is an option for a recipient who would rather collect funds than provide a bank account or wallet. Select an available cash pickup option in the transfer flow and enter the recipient’s legal name exactly as shown on the identification they will use to collect the money. Review the pickup instructions shown for that transfer and share the relevant collection information securely with the recipient.

Before sending, ask the recipient to check the applicable pickup location’s identification requirements and collection instructions. They may need an acceptable identity document and transfer information to collect the payment. The details depend on the pickup provider and location; a cash pickup is not collected through the recipient’s bank or mobile wallet.

How to send the transfer step by step

  1. Sign in and start a transfer. Open the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard and begin a Global Remittance transfer from your verified account. If verification or additional account information is requested, complete it using your real details.
  2. Set the destination and currencies. Choose Indonesia as the recipient’s country, then select the sending and receiving currency options offered for your transfer. Check whether the recipient will receive IDR and enter the amount using the app’s prompts.
  3. Select the payout method. Choose an available Indonesian bank deposit, mobile wallet or cash pickup option. Enter the recipient’s full legal name and the details required for that method. For a bank deposit, double-check the account number and bank; for a wallet, check the provider and +62 mobile number; for cash pickup, check the name against the recipient’s ID.
  4. Review before confirming. Read the exchange rate, fees and transfer summary shown in Coinepay. Check the amount, destination, payout method and recipient details. The rate and fees are displayed before you confirm; use that review screen for the terms of your particular transfer.
  5. Confirm and track. Confirm the transfer only when the information is correct. Use the transfer’s status tracking in Coinepay to follow its progress, and keep the transfer details available if you need help from support.

What the recipient may need to know

Tell the recipient which payout method you selected and ask them to watch the matching account, wallet or pickup instructions. For a bank payment, the receiving institution may ask the recipient about the purpose of the transfer or request supporting documents. Wallet providers and cash pickup operators may have their own identity and account checks. A recipient should respond to legitimate requests through the relevant provider’s normal channels and should not share passwords or verification codes with someone claiming to help release a payment.

Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may ask for documents relating to the purpose of the transfer or source of funds. Indonesian financial-service providers have reporting obligations for international funds transfers; this is a provider duty, not an instruction for recipients to file a report for every payment. If the payment is for a business transaction, keep the invoice or other records that explain it.

Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions, and it screens customers and counterparties against sanctions lists. Provide accurate information about both parties and the payment. Never use another person’s details to send or collect a transfer.

Troubleshooting an Indonesia transfer

The recipient details are wrong

If you notice an incorrect name, bank account number, wallet number or payout method, check the transfer status and contact Coinepay support promptly. Do not assume you can edit a transfer after confirmation. An Indonesian receiving bank may reject and return a payment because the account name or number does not match; rejection can also happen despite apparently correct details. Ask support what options apply to your transfer before creating another one.

The transfer is under review

A request for identity, payment-purpose or source-of-funds documents does not necessarily mean the transfer has failed. Follow the instructions shown in your account, provide accurate documents through the requested channel and check status tracking for updates. The receiving institution may separately ask the recipient for information under Indonesian requirements. Do not try to bypass a review by dividing a payment or using someone else’s account.

The recipient has not received it, or it was returned

Check Coinepay’s tracked status first, then ask the recipient to check the selected bank account, wallet or pickup instructions. Funding and conversion steps, security checks, intermediary or receiving-bank processing, and weekends or public holidays can affect progress. If a transfer is marked returned, rejected or otherwise unresolved, contact support with its transfer details and ask what happened and what to do next. Before sending again, confirm the recipient’s legal name and payout information with them.

FAQ

Does an Indonesian recipient need an IBAN?

No. Indonesia has no national IBAN format. For a bank deposit, use the recipient’s actual account number and the other bank details requested in the transfer flow.

Which Indonesian mobile wallets can I send to?

DANA, GoPay, OVO and ShopeePay are examples of Indonesian wallets. Check the Coinepay transfer flow for the wallets currently available for your payment.

When will I see the exchange rate and fees?

Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm the transfer. Review them alongside the recipient details and amount.

What should I do if I entered the wrong bank account number?

Check the transfer status and contact Coinepay support promptly. Do not assume a confirmed transfer can be edited or send a replacement before checking what happened.
