Plenty of Fish (POF) offers a free basic membership plus three paid tiers, and upgrading unlocks extras like unlimited Likes and read receipts. If you prefer to keep your main bank card separate from your dating subscription, a Coinepay virtual card gives you a dedicated card number, expiry date and CVV to use at checkout. This guide walks through what you need, how to subscribe, and how to troubleshoot a declined payment.
What you need before you start
- A verified Coinepay account. Register at Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to pay. Card and fund services are provided by licensed partner institutions, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction.
- A Coinepay virtual card. Create one in the dashboard or mobile app (iOS / Android). You will see the card number, expiry and CVV instantly.
- Enough balance on the card to cover the plan price plus any issuer fees or taxes. POF warns that your card issuer may add fees or taxes that are not shown during checkout.
- Your real billing details. Use your real name and billing address exactly as they appear on your Coinepay account. POF requires users to be at least 18.
POF plans and what they cost
POF has a free account and three officially named paid tiers:
- POF Plus — unlimited Likes, extended profiles, early viewing of new members, up to 16 profile images, and no ads.
- POF Premium — everything in Plus, plus the "Interested in Me" view and read receipts.
- POF Prestige — adds unlimited first contacts, priority Likes and priority messages. POF's help pages say Prestige is currently available only to some US-based iOS members, so it may not appear as an option for you.
POF says prices and promotions vary by region, subscription length, purchase history and account activity, and directs you to the price shown at the moment of purchase. As public examples only, at the time of writing (October 2026) the US iOS listing showed $19.99 for a "1 Week Subscription" and $29.99 for a "1 Month Subscription"; UK, Canadian, Australian and German listings showed broadly similar amounts in local currency. These store listings do not map cleanly to each tier, so always confirm the exact tier, term and price on POF's own checkout before you pay rather than relying on any figure here.
Step by step: subscribing to POF with your Coinepay card
- Create or sign in to your POF account. New users start from the POF Sign Up page; you can use the account for free without buying a subscription.
- Open the upgrade option. Signed in, choose the upgrade option in your account, or tap an upgrade button on an eligible feature — POF identifies upgrade buttons in Meet Me and Interested in Me.
- Pick a tier and term, and review the price, taxes and renewal terms that are disclosed at purchase.
- Choose the card payment method. If you reach a direct POF checkout, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. POF's direct credit-card section names Visa and Mastercard; its general list also mentions PayPal, Apple Pay/iOS subscription and Google Play.
- Enter your billing address to match the one on your Coinepay profile, then confirm.
- Complete any security check (such as a 3-D Secure confirmation) in the Coinepay app, and keep the confirmation of your purchase.
Checkout may be an internal POF website/app purchase or an external Apple App Store or Google Play purchase. If you buy through Apple or Google, the subscription is billed by that store under its own accepted payment rules, not by POF directly, and you manage it in that store account.
A note on the installment option
An installment option may appear at checkout. POF's terms describe an eligible four-payment plan, with the first payment due at purchase and no POF interest or finance charge. If you use it, make sure your Coinepay card has balance available when each scheduled payment is due. Canceling a four-payment subscription before all installments are paid generally does not erase the remaining scheduled balance unless local law requires otherwise.
If your card is declined: common causes and fixes
POF names expired cards and insufficient funds as reasons a direct payment may fail, and it may retry an updated payment method, which can change your billing date. A POF-specific list of other decline codes is not published; for any other in-app failure, POF's help page asks you to send support the error details or a screenshot. Work through these checks:
- Insufficient balance. Top up your Coinepay card so it covers the full price plus any issuer fees or taxes, then retry.
- Billing address mismatch. Re-enter your billing address exactly as it appears on your Coinepay account. A mismatch is a frequent cause of a silent decline.
- 3-D Secure not completed. If a verification prompt appears, approve it in the Coinepay app. An unconfirmed or timed-out check cancels the charge.
- Card details entered wrong. Double-check the card number, expiry and CVV. Copy them straight from the Coinepay app to avoid typos.
- "Purchase Failed" on iOS. POF documents this message when an Apple ID is already linked to an active subscription on another POF account — that is not necessarily a card decline, so check your Apple subscriptions.
- Merchant region or eligibility checks. POF excludes people in US-embargoed countries and anyone otherwise prohibited under its terms, and Prestige is limited to some US iOS members. Use your real identity and location; do not try to work around a regional restriction.
- Card-type restriction. POF's direct checkout names Visa and Mastercard, and neither POF nor Apple/Google guarantees any specific debit or virtual card. If payment still fails after the checks above, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you try again.
Managing, renewing and canceling
Paid subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Canceling stops the next renewal while your paid benefits remain through the current term; POF advises turning renewal off at least 24 hours before expiry. For a direct POF subscription on desktop, the cancellation path is Manage Account → Membership → Account Type → My Membership → cancel membership. You can edit direct-payment card details in Settings. Removing a stored card does not cancel renewal — you must cancel separately. If you subscribed through Apple or Google Play, manage or cancel it in that store account; PayPal recurring payments are managed in PayPal.
On refunds: purchases are generally final with no credit for an unused term. POF's terms provide a 14-day full-refund period from subscription start for subscribers in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, and a right to cancel before midnight on the third business day after subscribing for residents of certain US states listed in its terms. Apple handles refunds for Apple-ID purchases. Always read the price, taxes and renewal terms shown at checkout — those control.
Keep your Coinepay card ready
You can monitor your card balance, transactions and any security prompts anytime from the 24/7 Coinepay dashboard or the mobile app. If a charge needs approval, respond to it there promptly so your subscription goes through. For account or card questions, reach out via support or Telegram, and see more guides on the Coinepay site.

FAQ
Which POF plans can I pay for with a Coinepay virtual card?
POF offers POF Plus, POF Premium and POF Prestige. You can attempt to pay for any tier available to you at checkout. Prestige is currently limited to some US-based iOS members, so it may not appear as an option. Always confirm the tier, term and price shown at purchase.
Does POF accept virtual cards?
POF's direct checkout names Visa and Mastercard, and Apple and Google Play accept most major cards under their own rules. Neither POF nor the app stores guarantee any specific debit or virtual card. If a payment fails, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before trying again.
Why was my Coinepay card declined on POF?
Common causes are insufficient balance, an expired card, a billing address that doesn't match your Coinepay profile, or an incomplete 3-D Secure check. On iOS, a "Purchase Failed" message can mean your Apple ID already has an active POF subscription, which isn't a card decline. Fix the relevant item and retry.
How do I cancel a POF subscription I paid for with my card?
For a direct POF subscription on desktop, go to Manage Account → Membership → Account Type → My Membership → cancel membership, at least 24 hours before expiry. If you subscribed via Apple or Google Play, cancel in that store account. Removing your stored card does not cancel renewal.
Will I be charged extra fees when paying for POF?
POF notes that your card issuer may add fees or taxes that aren't shown during checkout. The plan price, taxes and renewal terms are disclosed at purchase. Make sure your Coinepay card has enough balance to cover the total, and check the final amount before confirming.
