Battle.net is Blizzard’s account, launcher and shop—not a subscription plan. If you want to pay for World of Warcraft® through Battle.net, you can choose a recurring World of Warcraft subscription and enter a Coinepay virtual card at checkout if the card payment option is available to your account. Here’s what to prepare, how to complete the purchase and what to check if payment fails.
What you need before checkout
- A Battle.net account: Sign in or create one using your real account details. Check that the account country and the World of Warcraft account you intend to pay for are correct before ordering.
- A Coinepay account with identity verification completed: You must register and complete KYC before using Coinepay card services. You can register with Coinepay and manage your card in its dashboard or mobile app.
- Your virtual card details: Coinepay issues a card number, expiry date and CVV. Blizzard does not accept cards without a CVV.
- Enough available funds: Check the total shown at Battle.net checkout, and allow for any pending authorization already affecting your available balance. Check the Coinepay app for information relevant to your card.
- Your real billing details: Enter the billing name and address associated with your payment details. Do not use a made-up address or change account country to try to get a different checkout option.
Battle.net lists credit and debit cards among its payment methods, but the Pay With choices depend on the account country, currency and product. A card payment option appearing at checkout does not guarantee that a particular transaction will be approved. If you need to confirm a requirement before buying, contact Coinepay support.
Choose the right World of Warcraft purchase
In the Battle.net Shop, the recurring product is called World of Warcraft®: Subscription. Its listed terms are Subscription - 1 Month, Subscription - 3 Months, Subscription - 6-Month Special Offer and Subscription - 12-Month Special Offer. These are recurring plans, not one-time purchases. Check the term, total and renewal information displayed for your account before confirming; prices vary by region, so use the official Battle.net Shop listing and your signed-in checkout for the current price.
If you want a separate, prepaid purchase instead of an automatically renewing plan, look at Game Time. Do not assume that a payment method available for Game Time will also work for a subscription. In particular, Battle.net Balance cannot be used to set up a recurring World of Warcraft subscription, although it can buy eligible prepaid Game Time.
How to pay for a World of Warcraft subscription
- Prepare your Coinepay card. After registration and identity verification, open the Coinepay dashboard or app and locate your virtual card’s number, expiry date and CVV. Check its available funds against the amount you expect to pay.
- Sign in to Battle.net. Use your existing account or create one, then open the World of Warcraft subscription listing in the Battle.net Shop. Confirm you are shopping under the correct account and region.
- Select a subscription term. Choose the 1-, 3-, 6- or 12-month option offered to your account. Read the renewal terms: a subscription renews automatically after the current billing cycle or game time ends unless you cancel it.
- Choose the World of Warcraft account. If Battle.net asks which WoW account should receive the subscription, select the one you intend to use. Review that selection before moving to payment.
- Check Pay With. Select a card option if it is offered for this purchase. Enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV, plus your real billing information. Make sure the billing fields match your payment details rather than copying an unrelated address.
- Review and confirm. Check the subscription term, account, displayed total and recurring-payment terms. Complete any verification requested during the legitimate checkout flow, then submit the order once. Check Battle.net for confirmation before attempting another payment.
If card payment is not offered under Pay With, do not assume you can enable it by changing a language setting. Payment availability is tied to factors such as account country, currency and product. Use an option Battle.net actually presents, or ask Blizzard support about the checkout options for your account.
How to change or stop a subscription payment
To update a recurring payment method, open Battle.net Account Management, go to Games & Subscriptions → Manage for the relevant WoW account, and follow Change Payment Method → Next: Confirm Payment → Subscribe. Review the account and card details before confirming. If the controls shown to you differ, follow the labels in your signed-in account rather than creating another subscription just to replace a card.
To stop future renewals, use Games & Subscriptions → Manage → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation stops renewal; already-paid game time remains available until it expires. It does not itself issue a refund. Blizzard’s published policy describes a refund window of 14 days for an unused World of Warcraft subscription, while its support guidance says subscriptions are generally non-refundable and may be reviewed for exceptions. Check the policy applicable to your purchase and contact Blizzard support if you want a refund review.
Why was my card declined?
A decline does not, by itself, identify who rejected the payment. Start with the order status and the exact message shown in Battle.net, then check the following possibilities before retrying.
Insufficient available balance or a pending hold
Compare the available funds shown in Coinepay with the final Battle.net checkout total. A pending or failed order may also leave a temporary authorization hold, reducing what appears available for another attempt. Check whether Battle.net recorded an order before submitting payment again. If you cannot tell whether a hold or charge is still pending, contact the relevant support team rather than making repeated attempts.
Billing address or account-region mismatch
Blizzard identifies mismatched billing details and cards billed outside the Battle.net account’s region as possible causes of payment failure. Recheck your name, billing address, account country and card entry for errors. Correct inaccurate information using your real details; do not substitute an address in another country. If your genuine account and billing regions differ, ask Blizzard what options are available for your account and ask Coinepay support about your card before retrying.
Verification or 3-D Secure interruption
If checkout displays an additional card-verification or 3-D Secure step, follow the instructions shown for that transaction. A closed, timed-out or incomplete verification window can leave the purchase unfinished. Return to Battle.net to check whether an order was created, then try again only if the order did not complete. If verification repeatedly fails or never appears when expected, contact Coinepay support with the time of the attempt and the message you saw. Do not share your CVV or one-time verification codes in a support message.
Payment-method restriction or merchant-side issue
You may see “Some payment methods can’t be used for subscription payments” or “Select another payment method or try again later”. Neither message proves that the card itself is the problem. Recheck the Pay With choices for the specific subscription; a method available for another Battle.net purchase may not be eligible for recurring payments. Blizzard also identifies bank rejection and possible site errors among payment-failure causes. If the details and funds look right but checkout still fails, record the exact error, check your order history and contact Blizzard support for the order issue or Coinepay support for a card-side check.
A final check before you retry
Confirm the correct WoW account and subscription term, use accurate billing information, and look for an existing order or authorization hold. If Battle.net presents a regional or payment-method restriction, follow its available options rather than trying to bypass the check. Coinepay card services require identity verification, and service availability can vary by jurisdiction; check the Coinepay app or support if you need help with your card.

No. Battle.net Balance cannot set up a recurring WoW subscription, though it can buy eligible prepaid Game Time.
What if Battle.net says, “Select another payment method or try again later”?
Check the available Pay With options, billing details, funds and order status. The message alone does not identify the cause; contact Blizzard or Coinepay support if it persists.
Where do I cancel a World of Warcraft subscription?
In Battle.net Account Management, go to Games & Subscriptions → Manage for the relevant WoW account, then select Cancel Subscription. Paid game time remains available until it expires.
