Touch 'n Go eWallet is one of Malaysia's most widely used mobile wallets, and a popular way to receive money from relatives, friends and business contacts overseas. With Coinepay Global Remittance you can send a cross-border transfer and have the funds paid out to a recipient's Malaysian mobile wallet, so they receive the money in Malaysian ringgit (MYR) without needing a bank branch. This guide walks through what you need, how the transfer works, and what to do if something looks wrong.

About Touch 'n Go eWallet payouts

Touch 'n Go eWallet is a Malaysian e-wallet, so the destination country is Malaysia and the payout currency is MYR. When you choose a mobile wallet payout, the money lands directly in the recipient's wallet balance, which they top up, spend and transfer from inside the Touch 'n Go eWallet app. A wallet payout is identified by the recipient's registered mobile number and their full name exactly as it appears on their verified wallet account.

Touch 'n Go eWallet uses verification tiers of its own, and a wallet's balance and top-up capacity can depend on how fully the recipient has verified their identity inside the Touch 'n Go eWallet app. Coinepay cannot see or change those limits. If your recipient is new to the wallet or has only partly completed verification, ask them to finish identity verification in their Touch 'n Go eWallet app before you send, so an incoming payout is not held or bounced back.

Before you start

To send with Coinepay you need a Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. If you have not registered yet, create your account and finish verification first. You can manage everything from the 24/7 dashboard or the Coinepay app for iOS and Android.

Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay screens all customers and counterparties against sanctions lists and may ask for supporting documents, such as the purpose of the transfer or the source of your funds. Provide accurate information and respond promptly so your payout is not delayed.

Details to collect from your recipient

Getting these details right is the single most important step, because a mobile wallet payout is matched automatically. Ask the recipient for:

  • The registered mobile number on their Touch 'n Go eWallet account, including the Malaysia country code (+60).
  • Their full name exactly as registered on the wallet \u2014 first and last name must match the verified account. Nicknames or a different spelling can cause a rejection.
  • The wallet provider, so you clearly select Touch 'n Go eWallet rather than another Malaysian wallet.

When you enter the mobile number with the country code, do not duplicate the leading zero. A Malaysian local number written with a leading "0" should not keep that zero once the +60 country code is added. Entering a number in the wrong format is a common reason a wallet payout is rejected, so double-check the digits before you confirm.

Step by step: send to Touch 'n Go eWallet with Coinepay

  1. Open Coinepay and go to the Global Remittance or send-money section.
  2. Choose the destination \u2014 select Malaysia as the receiving country.
  3. Select the mobile wallet payout method and choose Touch 'n Go eWallet from the available options for Malaysia.
  4. Enter the recipient details: full name as registered, the registered mobile number with the +60 country code, and any contact information the form requests. Save the recipient so you can reuse it next time.
  5. Enter the amount you want to send. Coinepay will show you the amount the recipient is expected to receive in MYR.
  6. Review the exchange rate and fees. The rate and any fees are shown clearly before you confirm. Nothing is charged until you approve the transfer.
  7. Confirm the transfer. Submit any purpose-of-transfer or source-of-funds information if asked.
  8. Save your reference. Keep the transaction number for tracking and support.

Reviewing the rate and fees

Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees for your chosen route on the confirmation screen before you commit. Review the MYR amount your recipient will receive and the total you will pay. Because rates move, the figure you see at confirmation is the one that applies to that transfer. If the numbers look right, confirm; if not, you can go back and adjust the amount.

Tracking the transfer

After you confirm, every Coinepay transfer has status tracking. Follow it in your transfer history or activity list in the dashboard or app. A status update on your side confirms that Coinepay has processed the payout to the wallet partner; the recipient should also check their own Touch 'n Go eWallet app to confirm the balance has arrived. If the status shows a review or a request for information, respond quickly to keep things moving.

How the recipient sees the money arrive

When the payout completes, the funds appear in the recipient's Touch 'n Go eWallet balance in MYR. They usually see an in-app notification and a new entry in their wallet transaction history. From there they can spend the balance, pay bills, scan to pay merchants or transfer as their wallet allows. Remind them that a sender-side "completed" or "processed" message is not the same as money landing in their wallet \u2014 the recipient's own wallet history is the real confirmation of receipt.

Troubleshooting

Wrong mobile number

If you entered the wrong number \u2014 or added an extra leading zero in front of the country code \u2014 the payout can be delayed or rejected. Check the exact digits with your recipient and contact Coinepay support with your transaction number as soon as possible. A submitted transfer generally cannot be edited, so a correction may mean cancelling and resending.

Name mismatch

The recipient's name must match the name registered on their Touch 'n Go eWallet account. A mismatch is a common reason a wallet payout is held or returned. Confirm the exact spelling and order of names, then reach out to support if the transfer is stuck.

Wallet limit reached

Touch 'n Go eWallet applies its own balance and top-up limits based on the recipient's verification level. If an incoming payout would push the wallet over its limit, it may not be accepted. Ask the recipient to check their wallet's available capacity and verification status in the Touch 'n Go eWallet app.

Unverified or partly verified wallet

A wallet that has not completed identity verification may not be able to receive the payout. Ask your recipient to finish verification inside their Touch 'n Go eWallet app before you send, or before you retry.

Compliance review

Transfers can be paused for sanctions screening or additional checks. Coinepay may request documents such as the purpose of the transfer or source of funds. Supply what is asked promptly; unanswered requests can lead to a transfer being cancelled and refunded. Never split a transfer, route it through another person or try to work around these checks.

Still not received

If the recipient cannot see the money after the status shows completed, have them refresh their wallet, check their transaction history and confirm the receiving number. If it still has not arrived, contact Coinepay support or reach us on Telegram with your transaction number.

FAQ

What details do I need to send money to a Touch 'n Go eWallet?
