You can start using Zapier without entering a payment method, then add one when you decide to upgrade. This guide explains how to prepare a Coinepay virtual card, choose a Zapier plan, complete checkout, and respond if a payment is declined. Card acceptance is subject to Zapier’s payment checks, so review the final checkout details before confirming.

What you need before paying

  • A Zapier account: Sign up through Zapier’s official site using your real account information. New accounts receive a 14-day Pro trial without a payment method. If you do not choose a paid upgrade, that trial moves to the Free plan rather than charging you.
  • A Coinepay account and virtual card: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. You can find your virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard.
  • Enough available funds: Check your card’s available balance against the total displayed at Zapier checkout, including any applicable tax. Allow for the billing period and any add-ons you select.
  • Accurate billing details: Enter your real billing name and address. Check that the information you submit to Zapier matches the billing details associated with your payment method.

Zapier lists credit card as a payment option in its payment guidance, but that does not establish that every virtual card will be accepted. If you need to confirm whether your Coinepay card meets Zapier’s payment requirements, contact Coinepay support before you buy. Do not change your location or enter an invented billing address to try to pass checkout.

Choose the right Zapier plan and billing period

Zapier’s core plans are Free, Professional, Team, and Enterprise. Its help materials sometimes call Professional “Pro.” The paid self-service checkout lets you select a plan, a task allowance, monthly or annual billing, and any add-ons. Enterprise pricing requires a sales quote rather than a standard self-service price.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Zapier’s USD pricing page lists Free at $0 per month with 100 tasks per month. Professional starts at $19.99 per month and Team at $69 per month at the annual-billing rate. The amount can increase with your selected task tier. These starting figures are not a promise of the amount your account will be charged: check Zapier’s official pricing page and the current checkout total before purchasing. Website prices exclude applicable tax; Zapier shows tax and the total at checkout.

Consider your expected task usage as well as the subscription price. Zapier says pay-per-task billing is enabled by default on paid plans for accounts created after January 2024. If usage exceeds your included task allowance, this can result in additional charges unless you disable that setting where permitted. AI by Zapier steps can also consume tasks according to model tier: Zapier’s October 2026 guidance describes 1×, 3×, and 5× tiers, with new steps defaulting to 5×. Review the usage and billing settings before running a high-volume automation.

How to subscribe to Zapier with a Coinepay virtual card

  1. Create or sign in to your Zapier account. Use Zapier’s official site and your real details. If you are on the new-account Pro trial, you can evaluate it without adding a card first.
  2. Prepare your Coinepay card. After Coinepay registration and identity verification, open the app or dashboard to retrieve your virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV. Check the available balance before starting checkout.
  3. Open Zapier’s plan controls. In Zapier, go to Billing and usage → Manage. Choose Professional or Team if you are upgrading through self-service, then select your task tier, monthly or annual billing, and any add-ons you want. For Enterprise, follow Zapier’s sales process instead.
  4. Enter your payment and billing information. At checkout, choose the card-payment option and enter the Coinepay virtual card details. Provide your real billing details accurately. Complete any verification prompted during payment rather than closing the checkout page.
  5. Check the order before confirming. Review the plan, billing period, task tier, add-ons, tax, and final total. Confirm only when these match what you intend to buy. Then check your Zapier billing area for the resulting plan and payment status; do not assume that a submitted payment succeeded if checkout displays an error.

Be especially careful with trials that request card details. Zapier says a Team trial with card details, or an additional self-serve trial, may automatically upgrade unless you opt out before it ends. Check the trial terms shown for your account and record the end date if you do not want a paid subscription.

What to do if Zapier declines the card

A decline does not, by itself, identify the cause. Zapier notes that banks do not give it the specific reason for every decline. Work through these checks instead of repeatedly submitting the same details:

  • Insufficient balance: Compare the available card balance with Zapier’s checkout total, not just the advertised starting price. A different task tier, annual billing, add-ons, or tax may make the amount higher than expected. Check available funds in Coinepay before trying again.
  • Card details or billing address mismatch: Recheck the number, expiry date, and CVV, then review the billing name and address for typing errors. Use accurate details associated with you and the payment method; do not substitute an address from another region.
  • 3D Secure verification: If checkout asks you to authenticate the payment, follow the prompt and make sure the process finishes. If the prompt does not appear, times out, or fails, note exactly what happened and ask Coinepay support for help with the card-side verification.
  • Merchant region or eligibility checks: Zapier’s listed card-payment option is not a guarantee of checkout eligibility in every situation. Zapier’s terms also restrict use involving sanctioned countries. Check that your account and billing information reflect your actual location and that you are eligible to use the service. Contact Zapier about an account-side restriction and Coinepay support about your card’s eligibility; do not try to bypass regional checks.

One reported Zapier notice reads, “There was a problem with your last payment. Please have an account owner update the payment information”. If you see it, ask the account owner to inspect the billing information rather than assuming your automation is the problem. Zapier’s payment details are under Billing and usage → Payment Information → Edit Payment Method. If checkout says a payment was declined but you see activity on the card, check Zapier’s actual payment status and contact the relevant support teams with the time and amount. A card-side entry alone does not prove that Zapier completed the purchase.

For a failed recurring charge, Zapier says it emails the customer and may retry up to three times at 72-hour intervals. It also offers a manual retry in Billing and usage. If the failure remains unresolved, Zapier says the account is downgraded to Free. Update the payment information promptly, but first check whether a retry or charge has already succeeded to avoid confusion.

Manage your subscription after checkout

To replace the card used for future charges, go to Billing and usage → Payment Information → Edit Payment Method in Zapier. Zapier says customers cannot remove stored payment details themselves; contact Zapier support if removal is necessary. Separately, keep an eye on task usage and pay-per-task settings so your charges reflect the automation volume you intended.

To cancel a paid core plan, go to Billing and usage → Manage and select Free. Follow through with the confirmation steps: merely selecting a downgrade does not schedule it. Zapier says paid access continues until the end of the billing cycle, and accrued pay-per-task charges may still be billed. Canceling a core plan does not automatically cancel add-ons, so review those separately.

Before paying, account for Zapier’s refund policy. Processed purchases, including monthly and annual plans, renewals, upgrades, and add-ons, are generally non-refundable unless its terms or applicable law require otherwise. If a card question remains unresolved, check with Coinepay support before confirming a purchase you may not be able to reverse.

FAQ

Can I try Zapier without adding my Coinepay card?

Yes. New Zapier accounts receive a 14-day Pro trial without a payment method and move to Free if they do not upgrade. Check the terms of any other trial that asks for card details.

Where do I enter or change my card in Zapier?

Select a paid plan through Billing and usage → Manage to enter a payment method at checkout. To change a stored method, use Billing and usage → Payment Information → Edit Payment Method.

Why was my Coinepay virtual card declined by Zapier?

Possible checks include available balance, card details, billing-address accuracy, 3D Secure verification, and Zapier’s eligibility checks. A decline alone does not identify the cause; contact the relevant support team if the issue persists.

Will choosing Free stop every Zapier charge?

Not necessarily. Confirm the downgrade in Billing and usage → Manage, review add-ons separately, and account for any accrued pay-per-task charges that Zapier may still bill.
