You can choose a Shutterstock plan on its website and enter a Coinepay virtual card at checkout. Before you buy, check the commitment and total charge: a price displayed per month may be billed for the full year upfront. Card acceptance is subject to Shutterstock’s payment checks, so follow the steps below without assuming a payment will be approved.

What you need before checkout

  • A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV are available through Coinepay’s self-service dashboard or mobile app.
  • Enough available funds for the checkout total. Review the billing frequency, applicable tax and final amount on Shutterstock before confirming. If the charge is annual, budget for the annual total rather than only the displayed monthly equivalent.
  • Your real account and billing details. Use your own name and an accurate billing address. For new purchases, Shutterstock’s terms determine country of residence from the supplied billing address. Do not enter an address in another country to obtain a different offer.
  • Access to any requested verification. Be ready to complete a payment authentication prompt if one appears.

Shutterstock says it accepts credit cards worldwide and validates newly added credit or debit cards. That statement does not establish whether a particular Coinepay card will pass its checks. If checkout presents a card-type or country requirement you are unsure about, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before you buy. Product and payment availability can also vary by location.

Choose the right Shutterstock purchase

Shutterstock’s full plan selection is on its website. Its iOS and Android apps offer a narrower set of purchases, including single images, some image packs and single video clips. To compare subscriptions, start with Shutterstock’s official pricing page in a browser.

OptionWhat to check
Image downloadsChoose an allotment of 10, 50, 350 or 750 images per month. Monthly allotments do not roll over.
Unlimited ImagesCheck which images qualify. The plan includes 50 AI-generation credits per month; its fair-usage policy limits downloads to 100 assets per day.
Unlimited PlusCheck eligibility for images, video, music and sound effects. It includes 100 AI-generation credits per month and has the same 100-asset daily download limit.
Image packsA non-subscription option with 2, 5 or 25 images and Standard or Enhanced licensing choices. Not every pack is available in every region; pack downloads generally expire 12 months after purchase.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Shutterstock’s US-dollar pricing page displayed Image downloads with 10 images at US$25/month billed yearly at US$300, Unlimited Images at US$29/month billed yearly at US$348, and Unlimited Plus at US$69/month billed yearly at US$828. These are displayed US-dollar prices, not verified prices for other markets. Taxes may apply. Check Shutterstock’s official pricing page and your checkout Order Summary for the current price, billing terms and total in your location.

For a business, Shutterstock also lists image-only Team Plans for up to 20 users and Flex Team mixed-media subscriptions for up to 10 users; both have an annual commitment paid upfront. Enterprise pricing requires a quote. If you need one of those options, review its purchase process and payment terms rather than assuming the individual checkout steps are identical.

How to sign up and pay

  1. Prepare your card. Sign in to the Coinepay dashboard, or use the iOS app or Android app. Locate your virtual card details and check that sufficient funds are available for the full expected charge.
  2. Open Shutterstock’s website. Create an account or sign in, then go to its pricing page. You can have a Shutterstock account without an active paid plan.
  3. Select the product and terms. Choose your Image downloads quantity, an Unlimited plan, or an Image pack. Read the asset eligibility, licence, commitment length and billing frequency. Select Subscribe or Buy now, as shown for that product.
  4. Enter genuine billing details. At checkout, provide your real name and billing address. Enter the virtual card number, expiry date and CVV in the payment fields. Check that the address and other details match the information you intend to use for billing.
  5. Review and confirm. Read the Order Summary, including any applicable tax, total due today and renewal terms. Shutterstock shows applicable US sales tax there before purchase; taxation elsewhere depends on billing information and local rules. Complete any bank-run verification prompt presented on-site or through a redirect, then submit payment once.
  6. Check the outcome. Look for Shutterstock’s purchase confirmation and the plan in your account. If you are uncertain whether checkout completed, check your account and payment activity before trying again to avoid an unintended duplicate purchase.

Manage the card and avoid an unexpected renewal

After signing in to Shutterstock, go to Account details → Billing to review saved payment methods, the default renewal method, billing address and tax information. Use Plans to review renewal and cancellation controls. A saved payment method may not be removable while an active plan requires recurring billing or a pack has auto-refill enabled; pack auto-refill is separate from plan renewal.

To cancel a plan, use Account details → Plans → Cancel plan for each plan you want to stop. An annual plan paid upfront can have its renewal stopped. An annual commitment billed monthly may offer end-of-term or early cancellation; early cancellation of a 12-month commitment billed monthly normally costs 50% of the remaining obligation unless local law requires otherwise. Shutterstock’s terms require auto-renewal to be disabled at least 12 hours before renewal to prevent the next charge. Check the effective date shown in your account rather than assuming cancellation ends access immediately.

Purchases are generally non-refundable, including unused time after cancellation. Shutterstock describes a 14-day refund exception for UK and EU customers who have used no downloads or credits. Review its current terms before purchasing if cancellation flexibility matters to you.

If Shutterstock declines the card

A declined transaction does not reveal a single certain cause. Work through these checks, then seek help rather than repeatedly submitting the same payment:

  • Insufficient funds or an unexpected total: Compare your available funds with the entire checkout charge, including any tax. For a yearly upfront plan, the annual amount is the relevant figure. Confirm the card number, expiry date and CVV were entered correctly.
  • Billing address mismatch: Recheck the billing name and address for typos. In Shutterstock, existing billing details are under Account details → Billing. Use accurate details for your actual residence; changing the country to bypass a check is not a solution.
  • 3-D Secure or other identity verification: Some EU customers may be asked to complete bank-run verification when buying or adding a card, either on Shutterstock or after a redirect. Follow the prompt if offered. If it fails or never completes, ask Coinepay support whether the required authentication is available for your card and transaction.
  • Merchant or regional checks: Shutterstock validates newly added cards, and available products and payment methods can differ by location. Check whether the selected product is offered for your real billing country. If checkout specifies a card-type or issuance-country restriction, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it; do not assume it does.
  • Online, international or recurring payment checks: Shutterstock identifies these as possible reasons a renewal may fail, alongside incorrect card details or insufficient funds. Ask Coinepay support to help investigate the transaction. If a card was rejected when added under Billing, Shutterstock may have been unable to validate it.

If a renewal failed, updating the payment method may not automatically retry the charge. Check Plans for the plan’s status, contact your card provider if needed, and then contact Shutterstock Support about restoring the purchase or renewal. Share the error shown, time, amount and relevant account details, but never send a full card number or CVV to Support.
