Klaviyo is a marketing platform for email, SMS and customer data, and its paid products are billed monthly through a saved card. If you want to keep your marketing spend separate from your personal accounts, a Coinepay virtual card gives you an instant card number, expiry date and CVV you can enter at Klaviyo's checkout. This guide walks through what you need, how the sign-up and billing flow works, and what to do if a payment is declined.

What you need before you start

  • A registered Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. You can create an account and finish verification before you try to pay.
  • A Coinepay virtual card with enough available balance to cover the first monthly charge plus any applicable tax shown at checkout.
  • The exact billing details tied to your card: your real name, country and the matching postal code. Klaviyo's card form specifically asks for card number, expiry, CVC, country and a matching postal code.
  • A Klaviyo account where you are the Owner or Admin — only those roles can change plans and manage billing.

Klaviyo documents USD and CAD as its supported billing currencies. Your account address sets the initial billing-currency preference, and eligible first-time customers can review it before the first paid purchase. Use your genuine details throughout; never enter an address that is not your own.

Understand Klaviyo's plans and pricing

Klaviyo's pricing builder groups its choices into categories such as Free, Marketing, Data + Analytics, Service, Composer, Customer Agent, Professional Services and Enterprise. These are product and sales categories rather than a single ladder of tiers. Within billing you select individual products — for example Profiles & Email, Mobile Messaging, Reviews, Marketing Analytics, Customer Hub, Helpdesk, Customer Agent and Composer — and your paid capacity depends on usage.

The Free plan allows up to 250 active profiles, 500 email sends per month, $5 of mobile-message usage and $5 of Composer usage per month, with free-account email support for 60 days. At the time of writing (October 2026), Klaviyo's published examples show paid email starting around US$20/month for up to 500 profiles, or about US$35/month with SMS added, and the paid Composer plan at US$20. These are starting examples, not prices for every profile or messaging tier, and Mobile Messaging is bought as a monthly dollar-denominated spending tier that does not roll over. Always confirm the current figure on Klaviyo's official pricing page before you buy, since prices vary by product, usage and region.

Create a Coinepay virtual card

  1. Open the Coinepay app (iOS or Google Play) or sign in to the 24/7 dashboard.
  2. Make sure your KYC is approved, then create a virtual card. The card number, expiry and CVV are issued instantly.
  3. Top up or confirm the card has enough balance for the first monthly charge and tax.
  4. Note the billing country and postal code associated with the card so they match what you enter at Klaviyo.

If you run marketing across several ad accounts, Coinepay also lets businesses issue a dedicated card per account with custom spending limits — useful for keeping your Klaviyo subscription on its own card with a clear monthly cap.

Sign up and subscribe to Klaviyo

  1. On Klaviyo's pricing page, choose Start for free and create your account using your real business details.
  2. Review the billing-currency preference set by your account address before any paid purchase.
  3. When you are ready to pay, select the product and capacity tier you need and proceed to checkout.

Upgrading an existing account

  1. Sign in as an Owner or Admin.
  2. Click your organization name at the bottom left, then go to Billing → Change plan.
  3. Select the product and tier, review your upgrade preferences, then click Continue to payment.
  4. The checkout summary shows applicable tax and the cost difference before you confirm.

After the August–September 2026 redesign, current billing navigation is Settings → Billing → Plans for plans and usage, Payment & Invoices for your saved card and invoices, and Preferences for billing preferences. Some older help text still refers to Overview or Payment history. Klaviyo has said the redesign did not change plan prices.

Enter your Coinepay card and confirm

Klaviyo processes self-serve payments as a saved credit card through its Stripe billing arrangement, and it does not support multiple cards on one account. In the card form, enter:

  • Card number, expiry and CVC from your Coinepay virtual card.
  • Country and a matching postal code — these must match the billing details registered to your card.

Review the summary, confirm, and your self-serve subscription will be billed monthly from the start of the paid plan. Manually billed, contracted customers may pay by ACH or wire if their contract specifies it, but those are not self-serve checkout options.

Klaviyo's separate conference-ticket card FAQ is not a subscription-payment policy, and the current list of accepted card brands for subscriptions is not published in its billing help. If you are unsure whether your Coinepay card will be accepted for this purchase, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you buy.

Troubleshooting a declined card

Klaviyo retries failed subscription payments, and repeated failures can suspend a paid account until an overdue payment succeeds, so resolve declines promptly. One reported message is "Your card does not support this type of purchase"; Klaviyo has pointed to possible insufficient funds or a bank fraud flag rather than one definitive cause. Work through the checks below.

Insufficient balance

Confirm your Coinepay card has enough for the charge plus any tax shown at checkout, and remember Mobile Messaging is charged as an upfront monthly dollar tier. Top up in the Coinepay app and retry.

Billing address or postal code mismatch

A mismatch between the postal code or country you enter and the details registered to your card is a common cause of declines. Make sure the postal code in Klaviyo's form exactly matches the one on your Coinepay card record.

3-D Secure verification

The transaction may need an extra confirmation step. Keep the Coinepay app open so you can approve any verification prompt or notification during checkout, then complete the payment.

Merchant or issuer checks

The payment is screened by both Klaviyo's processor and your card issuer. If a charge is blocked, check your Coinepay app for any alert and confirm the card is active. Note that some Klaviyo features have regional limits — for example SMS coverage is narrower than account availability and billing is only in USD or CAD — which is separate from whether a card is accepted.

If the payment still fails after these steps, reach out to Coinepay support or message the team on Telegram to check your card status.

Managing, cancelling and refunds

Eligible self-serve Owners or Admins can cancel through Billing → Cancel Plan, choosing to cancel selected products or all plans, either immediately or at the end of the billing cycle. Immediate cancellation does not refund the unused remainder of the cycle, and Klaviyo's Terms generally exclude refunds of fees already paid, with limited exceptions. The Terms also mention at least five days' non-renewal notice for a monthly cycle, or 30 days for other cycles. Manually billed or longer-term contracted accounts should follow their contract process rather than the self-serve screen. Because unused Coinepay funds stay on your card, you can leave only what you need for the next billing date.

FAQ

Can I pay for Klaviyo with a Coinepay virtual card?

You can enter a Coinepay virtual card's number, expiry, CVC, country and matching postal code at Klaviyo's self-serve checkout, which processes saved cards through Stripe. Klaviyo does not publish a definitive list of accepted card brands for subscriptions, so if you are unsure, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you buy.

Which billing currencies does Klaviyo support?

Klaviyo documents USD and CAD as its supported billing currencies. Your account address sets the initial preference, and eligible first-time customers can review it before the first paid purchase. Existing USD customers cannot currently switch to CAD on their paid plan.

How much does Klaviyo cost?

At the time of writing (October 2026), Klaviyo's published examples show paid email starting around US$20/month for up to 500 profiles, or about US$35/month with SMS added, and the paid Composer plan at US$20. These are starting examples only; check Klaviyo's official pricing page for current figures, which vary by product, usage and region.

Why was my card declined at Klaviyo checkout?

Common causes include insufficient balance, a billing address or postal code mismatch, a pending 3-D Secure verification, or an issuer block. Confirm your Coinepay card has enough funds, that the postal code matches your card record, and approve any verification prompt in the app. If it still fails, contact Coinepay support.

How do I cancel my Klaviyo subscription?

Self-serve Owners or Admins can cancel via Billing → Cancel Plan, choosing selected products or all plans, either immediately or at the end of the billing cycle. Immediate cancellation does not refund the unused part of the cycle. Contracted accounts should follow their contract process.
