JD.com (京东) is one of China's largest online marketplaces, selling self-operated goods and third-party listings, as well as a paid shopping membership called JD PLUS. If you want to pay for a JD.com order or a PLUS membership with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks you through what to prepare, how checkout works, and what to do if a payment is declined.
One thing to keep in mind from the start: the payment methods shown for a normal product order are not necessarily the same ones offered for a PLUS membership purchase, and JD's checkout screen decides which methods an order actually supports. Always follow the options JD shows you at the moment you pay.
What you need before you start
- A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. You can register here and finish verification before you shop.
- A Coinepay virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV, all available instantly in the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app once issued.
- Enough balance on the card to cover the full order plus any currency conversion.
- A JD.com account with real-name verification. JD requires PLUS applicants to verify their real identity, provide a phone number and email, and accept the membership agreement.
- Your real billing details (name and address) that match the information on your Coinepay profile.
Use your genuine identity and billing details throughout. JD applies real-name verification to PLUS, and you should never try to work around any regional or payment check.
Understand JD's payment surfaces
JD has more than one checkout environment, and the accepted cards differ:
- Mainland product payments (JD Pay): JD's payment help covers bank cards (debit and credit), PC-only online banking, and wallet balance. Separate checkout guides also list WeChat Pay, UnionPay, Apple Pay and Huawei Pay where displayed.
- Cross-border product payments (JD Global Sales): JD lists Visa, Mastercard and JCB international credit cards, plus WeChat Pay, Hong Kong Octopus and UnionPay. The international-card flow redirects you to a dedicated card-entry page.
Which of these methods pay for a given order — and in particular for a PLUS membership — is determined at checkout and is not something you can assume in advance. Because card acceptance varies by merchant and region, it is worth confirming your card details with Coinepay before you buy: contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets a merchant's requirement before you pay.
JD PLUS plans and prices
JD's terms name a PLUS trial and paid PLUS memberships, including an annual membership (年卡) and a quarterly membership (季卡). Its self-operated store lists the PLUS京典年卡 ("PLUS Jingdian Annual Card") along with separate partner-branded annual bundles. Not every term or bundle is guaranteed to be available at checkout on any given day.
On prices: at the time of writing (October 2026), a JD buying guide cited a reference price of ¥198 for the self-operated PLUS京典年卡 and roughly ¥85–¥85.23 for certain third-party annual-card listings, but JD expressly states these are not live checkout prices. There is no confirmed PLUS price in USD, HKD or other market currencies, so treat those ¥ figures only as reference, not as an overseas price. Always check the live price on JD's official product page before you confirm.
Step-by-step: paying at JD checkout
- Issue or open your Coinepay card. In the Coinepay app (iOS / Android) or dashboard, open your virtual card and note the number, expiry and CVV. Top it up so the balance covers your order.
- Sign in to JD.com with your real-name-verified account.
- Add the item or membership. For a product, add it to your cart. For PLUS, open the PLUS channel and select the plan you want (for example an annual or quarterly membership). Review whether the plan has automatic renewal authorized — see the renewal note below.
- Go to checkout and choose a card method. On a cross-border order, choose the international credit card option so JD redirects you to its card-entry page. On a mainland order, choose the bank-card option if it is offered for that order.
- Enter your Coinepay card details exactly: full card number, expiry date, CVV, and the cardholder name and billing address that match your Coinepay profile.
- Complete any verification. If a 3-D Secure or one-time passcode step appears, approve it through the method Coinepay prompts you with.
- Confirm and save your receipt. After payment, keep the order confirmation. You can review card charges under My → My Wallet → My Bills, filtered by bank-card payment.
Auto-renewal, cancellation and refunds
JD's terms describe buying an annual or quarterly membership and, if automatic renewal is authorized, charging again for the next year or quarter at expiry; an auto-renewing trial converts into an annual membership. JD says it sends a text message five days before a renewal charge, so watch for that notice if you don't want to renew.
To review your membership purchases, JD documents the path PLUS channel → My PLUS → PLUS opening records, where eligible users can also request a cancellation or refund. JD says a PLUS purchase may qualify for a refund within seven days of the successful order (inclusive), only if no benefits have been claimed or used; outside those conditions, cancelling mid-term does not return the fee. The exact in-app PLUS auto-renewal toggle path isn't something we can state with certainty, so follow the current labels inside PLUS opening records.
Note that managing a saved card is a separate action from stopping PLUS renewal. JD documents My JD → Settings → Quick Pay (or "Manage My Quick Pay" on the payment page) for closing or deleting a linked card — but removing a card is not confirmed to cancel PLUS renewal. Turn off renewal through the membership settings themselves.
Troubleshooting: why a card payment fails
JD lists several reasons a card payment can be unsuccessful. Here's how they map to common fixes:
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| Payment rejected immediately | Insufficient funds | Top up your Coinepay card so the balance covers the full order plus any conversion, then retry. |
| Card details rejected | Expired, cancelled or reported-lost card, or an expired/unrelinked Quick Pay card | Check the expiry in the Coinepay app; if needed, issue a fresh virtual card and re-enter the details. |
| Declined after entering address | Billing address mismatch | Re-enter the name and billing address exactly as they appear on your Coinepay profile. |
| Fails at the verification step | 3-D Secure / one-time passcode not completed | Approve the prompt in the Coinepay app; make sure notifications are enabled and try again. |
| Method not offered or card refused | Card outside the bank's supported region, or merchant region checks | Use the correct JD checkout surface (Global Sales for international cards) and confirm your card with Coinepay support. |
| Payment limit or bank error | Bank payment limits or a bank-system error | Retry after a short wait; check for any spend limit set on your card in the Coinepay dashboard. |
| Checkout times out | Peak-traffic failure | Wait and retry, especially during JD promotional periods. |
JD does not publish a verified list of PLUS-specific decline messages, so the wording you see may differ. If payments keep failing after you've checked balance, card status, address and verification, reach out to Coinepay support or message us on Telegram to confirm whether your card is suitable for the JD checkout you're using.
Regional notes
JD's PLUS terms primarily address its mainland-China service and verification, and at least one PLUS benefit (a 180-day replacement) applies only to mainland-China addresses. JD Global Sales covers overseas product payments but does not by itself establish overseas PLUS eligibility, and a complete country-by-country PLUS availability list isn't confirmed. Coinepay's own services, including virtual-asset-related features, are not available to residents of mainland China and are not offered in every jurisdiction. Shop only where both JD and Coinepay are available to you, and always with your real identity and details.

FAQ
Can I use a Coinepay virtual card to buy JD PLUS?
You can try: enter your Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV at JD's card-entry page. JD's checkout decides which methods a PLUS order supports, and acceptance can vary by region, so confirm your card is suitable with Coinepay support before you buy.
Which JD checkout should I use for an international card?
JD Global Sales lists Visa, Mastercard and JCB international credit cards and redirects you to a dedicated card-entry page. Mainland JD Pay checkout offers bank cards, online banking and wallet balance. Use the surface that matches your order.
How do I stop JD PLUS from auto-renewing on my card?
JD sends a text five days before a renewal charge. Review your membership under PLUS channel → My PLUS → PLUS opening records and turn off renewal there. Removing a saved card is a separate action and is not confirmed to cancel PLUS renewal.
Can I get a refund on JD PLUS?
JD says a PLUS purchase may qualify for a refund within seven days of the successful order (inclusive) only if no benefits have been claimed or used, applied through your PLUS opening records. Outside those conditions, cancelling mid-term does not return the fee.
My Coinepay card was declined at JD checkout. What should I check?
Confirm your balance covers the order, the card isn't expired, and the billing name and address match your Coinepay profile. Complete any 3-D Secure prompt. If it still fails, contact Coinepay support to verify your card suits the JD checkout you're using.
