NBA League Pass lets you stream live and on-demand games through NBA.com, the NBA app and several TV and partner platforms. This guide walks through subscribing and paying with a Coinepay virtual card, where to find the right settings, and how to troubleshoot a declined payment. Before you start, read the section on card-type and billing-country rules carefully, because the NBA applies specific restrictions at checkout.

Before you start: an important card rule

The NBA's own payment-error help page states plainly that prepaid and digital cards are not supported, and that your billing country must match the location where you are buying. The NBA has not published a single authoritative list of accepted card networks, and acceptance can differ by seller and country.

Because of that restriction, do not assume any particular virtual card will be accepted. If you plan to pay with a Coinepay virtual card, contact Coinepay support first to confirm your card meets the NBA's requirement before you buy. Always use your real name and real billing address that matches your identity and location — never a fabricated address, and never a tool to disguise your region. Doing so breaches the NBA's terms and your payment will likely fail verification.

What you need

  • A completed Coinepay account. If you have not registered yet, create an account and finish identity verification (KYC) first.
  • A Coinepay virtual card with available balance for your chosen plan. You can see the card number, expiry date and CVV in the Coinepay dashboard or the app (iOS / Android).
  • Your billing address, matching the country where League Pass is sold to you.
  • An NBA ID (you can create one during checkout).
  • Confirmation from Coinepay support that your card suits the NBA's no-prepaid, country-match rule.

Note that League Pass is not available in every country. The NBA lists it as unavailable in Belarus, China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria and the specified Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.

Choosing a plan

There are two main tiers. League Pass includes commercials and one concurrent stream. League Pass Premium adds in-arena feeds during breaks, offline downloads and up to three concurrent streams. NBA.com offers monthly and season-long billing, while the NBA mobile app also offers annual billing, depending on the options shown at purchase. Separately, the U.S. pricing page also lists Team Pass, NBA TV and League Pass Audio.

At the time of writing (October 2026), the U.S. NBA.com listing showed League Pass at US$109.99/season and Premium at US$159.99/season, while the U.S. Apple App Store listed US$16.99/month and US$24.99/month respectively. Prices, taxes and promotions vary by region and by seller, and the exact product offered to a new customer can differ, so always confirm the current price on the official NBA League Pass page or in the app at checkout.

Step-by-step: subscribing on NBA.com

  1. Go to the official NBA.com League Pass purchase page.
  2. Select the tier (League Pass or League Pass Premium) and the billing period you want.
  3. Sign in to your NBA ID, or create one with your real email address.
  4. When prompted for payment, enter the Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as shown in your Coinepay dashboard or app.
  5. Enter your billing address. Make sure the billing country matches the location where you are buying, as the NBA requires.
  6. Review the plan, price and taxes, then confirm the purchase. If a 3-D Secure verification step appears, approve it through Coinepay.

The NBA also sells in-app subscriptions through Apple, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore, and in select markets through Roku, Fire TV/Firestick, Samsung TV and Vizio, plus participating TV providers and international partners. If you subscribe through one of those, you enter and manage your payment details within that seller's flow, not on NBA.com.

Where to update or change your card later

For a direct NBA.com purchase, you can change the card at NBA ID → My Account → Subscriptions → Billing Method → Update. If you subscribed through an app store or another third party, you must update the card with that seller instead. This is also where you would switch to a different Coinepay virtual card — for example, if you create a new card for your streaming subscriptions.

Troubleshooting a declined card

The NBA's published payment-error descriptions are "Incorrect Payment Information" and "Invalid Payment Method", and it advises checking whether your financial institution blocked the purchase. For a failed payment, the NBA suggests waiting 10 minutes, then trying another payment method or a different browser or the app, and checking with your financial institution; unresolved cases go to NBA support. Work through the causes below.

Prepaid or digital card not supported

This is the most common reason a virtual card is rejected here, because the NBA does not accept prepaid or digital cards. Before buying, ask Coinepay support to confirm your card meets this requirement. Do not try to force a transaction that a merchant has declined for policy reasons.

Insufficient balance

Make sure your Coinepay card holds enough to cover the plan plus any tax shown at checkout. Top up in the Coinepay app, then retry. Season-long and annual plans require a larger balance than monthly plans.

Billing address or country mismatch

An "Incorrect Payment Information" result often means the billing details do not match. Re-enter your address exactly, and ensure the billing country matches where you are purchasing. Never enter an address in a country you are not in to reach a cheaper region — this breaks the NBA's terms.

3-D Secure verification

If a verification prompt appears and the payment then fails, confirm you completed the step through Coinepay. Check the app for any pending approval or notification and try again.

Merchant or region check

If League Pass is not sold in your country, or the platform you chose does not offer it there, checkout will not complete. Confirm availability on the official NBA support pages, and remember that live-game blackouts apply in the U.S. and Canada even when a subscription is active.

Card details typed incorrectly

Copy the card number, expiry and CVV directly from your Coinepay dashboard rather than typing from memory, and remove any spaces. A single wrong digit triggers an "Invalid Payment Method" error.

Renewals, cancellation and refunds

NBA.com monthly subscriptions renew every 30 days; season-long subscriptions renew before the next season with advance email notice. In-app renewal terms depend on the seller. To cancel an NBA.com purchase, go to My Account → Manage Plan → Cancel Subscription and complete the remaining confirmation prompts — choosing a reason alone does not finish the cancellation. App-store and other third-party subscriptions must be cancelled through their own sellers, and access usually continues to the end of the current billing period.

On refunds, the NBA says a season-long NBA.com renewal receives an automatic full refund if cancelled within 14 days of being billed; otherwise its older U.S. subscriber agreement treats current-period fees as non-refundable. Review the current terms on the official NBA pages before you subscribe.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for NBA League Pass?

The NBA states that prepaid and digital cards are not supported and that the billing country must match where you buy. Because of this, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you subscribe, and always use your real billing details.

Why was my card declined at NBA League Pass checkout?

The NBA shows "Incorrect Payment Information" or "Invalid Payment Method" errors. Common causes are unsupported prepaid/digital cards, insufficient balance, a billing-address or country mismatch, an incomplete 3-D Secure step, or mistyped card details. The NBA suggests waiting 10 minutes, trying another method or browser, and checking with your financial institution.

How much does NBA League Pass cost?

Prices vary by region, seller and billing period. At the time of writing (October 2026) the U.S. NBA.com listing showed League Pass at US$109.99/season and Premium at US$159.99/season. Always confirm the current price on the official NBA League Pass page or in the app at checkout.

How do I change the card on my NBA League Pass subscription?

For an NBA.com purchase, go to NBA ID → My Account → Subscriptions → Billing Method → Update. If you subscribed through an app store or another third party, update the card through that seller instead.

How do I cancel NBA League Pass bought on NBA.com?

Go to My Account → Manage Plan → Cancel Subscription and complete all confirmation prompts; selecting a reason alone does not finish it. Third-party and app-store subscriptions must be cancelled through their respective sellers.
