Taboola's advertiser platform, now branded Realize, lets you run native and content-discovery campaigns billed against your card. This guide explains how to add and pay with a Coinepay virtual card, where Taboola keeps its billing settings, and what to check if a charge is declined. It covers the self-service advertiser flow, not receiving money as a publisher.

What you need before you start

  • A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) complete, and a virtual card showing its card number, expiry date and CVV. If you have not signed up yet, you can create a Coinepay account and install the app from the App Store or Google Play.
  • A Taboola Realize advertiser account for your business.
  • Your real billing name and address, matching the details registered on your Coinepay card.
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the way Taboola charges (explained below).

Taboola lists Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover as accepted card networks. Whether it accepts debit or prepaid cards specifically is not something Taboola publishes. Because of that, confirm the card type that works for your account rather than assuming. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Taboola's requirement before you fund a campaign — you can reach the team through the support page or on Telegram.

How Taboola charges your card

Taboola does not sell a fixed-price advertiser subscription. Realize is the ad platform and Realize+ is a more automated offering, but neither is a published paid tier — you pay for the advertising you run, priced by campaign bidding on CPC or CPM. How the money leaves your card depends on your payment schedule:

  • Automatic Billing — the card is charged when your campaign spend reaches a billing increment (typically $100 of spend), then again for any remaining spend at month-end. The $100 is a billing increment, not a plan price or minimum spend. Automatic Billing takes credit cards only.
  • Prepayment Billing — you load funds before campaigns run, and spend is drawn down from that balance.
  • Monthly Invoice Billing — an approved managed account with a credit line; this is not the typical self-service path.

Taboola also notes that card payments may carry a region-dependent processing fee (roughly 2%–3.5% depending on account type). The exact figure for your market is not fixed, so treat it as variable and check the amount shown at the time you pay.

Prices and plan availability vary by region. Taboola does not publish a country-by-country rate card, so always confirm current pricing and fees on Taboola's official Realize help pages before you commit budget.

Step 1: Create or open your Realize advertiser account

Go to Taboola's advertiser sign-up and start the wizard. It collects campaign information such as your marketing objective, budget and target audience, and sets up your advertiser account. Use your real business details — these should line up with the identity on your Coinepay account, since both Taboola and Coinepay verify who you are.

Step 2: Open Billing & Payments in Realize

Inside Realize, select the Admin icon, then Billing & Payments. This is where you add or edit the card on file. The related Invoices & Payments section holds your billing history if you have billing permission on the account.

Step 3: Add your Coinepay virtual card

  1. In Billing & Payments, choose to add a new card.
  2. Open the Coinepay app and copy your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. The number appears instantly after the card is issued, so there is nothing to wait for.
  3. Enter the card details, then type the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Coinepay account.
  4. Save the card. If Taboola runs a verification charge or a 3-D Secure step, approve it in the Coinepay app.

Step 4: Set your payment schedule and fund your spend

If you are on Automatic Billing, your saved card will be charged automatically once spend reaches the billing increment and again at month-end for the remainder — make sure your Coinepay card keeps enough balance to cover those charges. If you are on Prepayment Billing, add funds to your Taboola balance before launching, as campaigns will not run until the prepayment is received.

Keep in mind that self-service card prepayment for managed accounts is listed only for certain markets — the US, Brazil, Japan, France, Spain, Germany, Israel, the UK and the EU, in USD, BRL, JPY, EUR or GBP. Advertising is available more widely than that, but your available payment option can depend on your country and currency. In India, Taboola's help pages mention a card-prepayment cap tied to RBI rules; if you advertise from there, check the current limit in your own account.

Step 5: Launch and track your campaign

Once your card is accepted and any prepayment is cleared, you can publish your campaign. Monitor spend and charges under Invoices & Payments so you can top up your Coinepay balance before the next billing increment lands.

Troubleshooting: why a Taboola card charge can fail

Taboola flags two billing-related reasons an account can be frozen: "Insufficient Credit" and "Billing Error." For a Billing Error, Taboola says it could not collect from the card and advises you to check with your bank or try another card. Work through these causes:

Insufficient balance

Automatic Billing charges can arrive without warning when spend crosses the increment, and again at month-end. Confirm in the Coinepay app that your card has enough to cover the pending amount plus any processing fee, then top up and let Taboola retry or re-add the card.

Billing address mismatch

If the name or address you entered does not match your Coinepay card record, the charge can be refused. Re-open Billing & Payments and correct the details so they match your Coinepay account exactly.

3-D Secure not approved

Some charges trigger an extra authentication step. Keep the Coinepay app handy and approve any verification prompt promptly; an ignored prompt reads as a decline.

Card type or network checks

Taboola names Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover but does not confirm acceptance of debit or prepaid cards. If your card is declined at this stage, do not assume the card qualifies — contact Coinepay support to confirm your card type works for Taboola, and ask about trying another Coinepay card if needed.

Region and currency limits

If card prepayment is not offered in your country or currency, the option may simply not appear or may reject the card. Check the markets and currencies supported for your billing method, and reach out to Taboola support if you believe your region should be covered.

One advertiser publicly reported an issuer declining a non-local-currency Taboola charge even with international transactions enabled; the cause was not confirmed. If your card is refused and your Coinepay balance and details are correct, contact Coinepay support to check whether anything on the card side is blocking the payment.

Refunds, pausing and cancelling

You can pause a campaign with the pause toggle in Realize; pausing does not end your advertiser agreement or erase amounts already owed. Under Taboola's US advertiser terms, either side may end the agreement for convenience on seven days' written notice, and an advertiser may end an individual campaign on 24 hours' written notice. For a refund, request a review from your account manager or email [email protected] with your account name, ID and details; if approved, Taboola says a card refund takes roughly one working day. Note that Taboola's terms let it keep prepayments without refund for a specified policy breach involving concealed landing-page redirects or cloaking, so keep your campaigns compliant.

Keep your Coinepay card ready

Because Automatic Billing can charge at each spend increment and again at month-end, the simplest way to avoid a frozen account is to keep your Coinepay balance ahead of your spend. You can manage the card, check your balance and review transactions anytime in the Coinepay app or the 24/7 dashboard. For anything card-specific, the Coinepay support team can help; to get started, visit Coinepay.

FAQ

Does Taboola accept a Coinepay virtual card?

Taboola lists Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover as accepted networks, but does not publicly confirm whether debit or prepaid cards are accepted. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Taboola's requirement before you fund a campaign, and be ready to try another payment method if a charge is refused.

Where do I add my card in Taboola Realize?

In Realize, click the Admin icon, then open Billing & Payments to add or edit a card. The Invoices & Payments section holds your billing history if you have billing permission.

How does Taboola charge my card?

There is no fixed subscription. With Automatic Billing, your card is charged when campaign spend reaches a billing increment (typically $100 of spend) and again for the remainder at month-end. Prepayment Billing draws from funds you load in advance. A region-dependent processing fee of roughly 2%–3.5% may apply.

Why was my Coinepay card declined on Taboola?

Common causes are insufficient balance for the billing increment or fee, a billing address that does not match your Coinepay card, an unapproved 3-D Secure prompt, or a card-type or regional restriction. Taboola flags billing failures as 'Insufficient Credit' or 'Billing Error' and advises checking with your bank or trying another card.

Can I get a refund if I cancel a Taboola campaign?

Refunds are not automatic. Request a review from your account manager or email [email protected] with your account name, ID and details. If approved, Taboola says card refunds take about one working day. Pausing a campaign does not end the agreement or cancel amounts already owed.
