You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at Strava’s website checkout to pay for a subscription, subject to Strava’s payment requirements and approval of the transaction. This guide covers what to prepare, how to choose and pay for a plan, and what to check if your card is declined. If you subscribe through an app store instead, that store—not Strava’s website—handles your payment method.

Before you subscribe

  • Set up your Coinepay card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before using card services. Your virtual card provides a card number, expiry date and CVV. Check the Coinepay app or dashboard for your available funds and any applicable card settings before checkout.
  • Use your own Strava account. Create a free account or sign in to the account you want to upgrade. Keep your real identity and billing details consistent across the information you provide.
  • Check the purchase channel. This guide’s card-entry steps apply to checkout on Strava’s website. If you buy through Apple or Google, payment options and subsequent billing changes are managed through the relevant store.
  • Check payment eligibility. Strava lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit or debit cards among its payment methods; availability varies by region. Do not assume a particular virtual card meets Strava’s card-type requirements. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets those requirements before you buy.

Strava services and subscription purchases may be restricted in some locations. Check Strava’s current availability and use only your genuine location and billing information; a virtual card does not override regional rules or payment checks.

Choose the right Strava subscription

Strava has a free tier. Its paid offers are Individual Subscription, Family Subscription, Student Subscription and Strava + Runna Subscription. Individual offers a monthly or annual billing choice; the other three are annual-only. Review the amount, applicable tax and renewal terms shown at your own checkout before paying.

OfferWhat to check before paying
Individual SubscriptionChoose monthly or annual billing where offered. Check the selected interval before confirming.
Family SubscriptionThe purchaser can invite up to three others. Invitees must live in the same country and must not already have an active Strava subscription. Family can be purchased on Strava’s website or through Apple, but not Google Play.
Student SubscriptionYou need a free Strava account and SheerID verification. Purchase it on Strava’s website, not through Apple or Google; re-verification is required to retain the discount.
Strava + Runna SubscriptionThis is a combined annual offer, separate from the Family Subscription. It is not included with Family.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Strava’s posted U.S. prices were $11.99 per month or $79.99 per year for Individual, $139.99 per year for Family, $39.99 per year for Student, and $149.99 per year for Strava + Runna, plus applicable tax. Prices can differ by region and purchase channel. Check Strava’s official pricing page and your checkout total rather than treating those posted U.S. prices as your payment or renewal quote.

How to pay on Strava’s website

  1. Sign in to Strava on its website. If you do not yet have an account, create a free one using your real information, then sign in. Check that you are upgrading the account you intend to use.
  2. Open Strava’s subscription page. Review the available offers for your region and select the one you want. Choose Subscribe or Start Trial if a trial is offered to your account; do not assume a trial is available or free of future charges.
  3. Review billing frequency. For Individual, use More Billing Options to select monthly or annual billing where offered. Family, Student and Strava + Runna are annual-only. If choosing Student, complete the required SheerID verification as directed by Strava.
  4. Enter your Coinepay virtual card details. Get the card number, expiry date and CVV from Coinepay’s app or self-service dashboard. Enter them in Strava’s secure checkout along with your accurate billing details. Check any on-screen requirements for the payment method in your region.
  5. Read the final checkout screen. Confirm the offer, amount, tax, billing interval and any trial-to-paid or renewal terms. Complete any payment verification requested during checkout, then submit the payment.
  6. Check the result. Look for confirmation from Strava and verify the subscription status in your account. If the result is unclear, check your account and payment activity before submitting again so you do not accidentally make a duplicate purchase.

Coinepay card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. For questions about available funds or your card settings, check your Coinepay account or ask Coinepay support.

If your card is declined

A decline does not, by itself, identify the cause. Strava has not published a definitive error-message list for every failed card payment, so use the checkout notice as a starting point rather than assuming one explanation. Work through these checks without changing your identity or using an address that is not yours.

Insufficient available funds

Compare the available amount shown in Coinepay with Strava’s final checkout total, including any applicable tax. For an annual offer, check the full annual amount rather than a monthly equivalent. If the card cannot cover the payment, add funds using an option available in your Coinepay account and retry only after the available amount reflects the change. Check the app or contact support for information specific to your account.

Billing details do not match

Re-enter the card number, expiry date and CVV carefully. Check that the billing name and address you give Strava are your real, current details and match the details associated with your payment account where applicable. If you need to correct your information, update it through the proper account settings; do not enter a made-up address to pass checkout.

Payment authentication is incomplete

If checkout requests 3-D Secure or another verification step, follow the instructions presented by the payment flow and return to Strava to see whether the purchase completed. A closed verification window, expired prompt or interrupted connection can leave the result unclear. Check Strava and your Coinepay activity before retrying. If authentication repeatedly fails, contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempted payment, without sharing your full card number or CVV.

Card-type or region checks

Strava’s accepted methods vary by region, and its stated card list refers to specified credit or debit cards. Ask Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets Strava’s requirements; do not assume eligibility from the fact that it has card details. Confirm that Strava offers the selected subscription in your actual location. If the page or app appears stuck, Strava suggests refreshing it or reopening the app, then contacting Strava support if the issue continues, including for regional availability questions. Do not use location-masking tools or false billing details to work around a restriction.

Manage billing, renewals and cancellation

For a website purchase, Strava places card changes under profile picture → Settings → My Account → Billing Info → Update Payment Details/Add Payment Details. To cancel a website subscription, go to Settings → My Account → Cancel Subscription. Updating a card is different from canceling: check the subscription status after either action.

In Strava’s app, the subscription entry is You → Settings → Your Strava Subscription. For an Apple- or Google-billed purchase, manage the payment method in that store and use You → Settings → Your Strava Subscription → Manage Your Subscription to find the appropriate cancellation route. Entering a Coinepay card on Strava’s website will not change an existing app-store payment method.

Strava subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and does not itself issue a refund. For a website purchase, Strava says to contact its support team to request a refund within 14 days of purchase; after that, subscriptions are generally non-refundable. Apple and Google decide refund requests for their own purchases, and their requests typically must be made within 48 hours, with no guaranteed approval. Local-law rights may also apply depending on where you live, so consult Strava’s current terms for your circumstances.
