Hulu + Live TV bundles live sports, news and local channels with the Hulu streaming library, and most plans also include Disney+ and ESPN Select. If you manage your spending with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through what you need, how the Hulu sign-up and checkout flow works, and what to do if your card is declined. One point matters before anything else: Hulu requires a U.S.-issued payment method and Live TV is available only in the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C. We cover that restriction in detail below.

Before you start: an important eligibility check

Hulu states that signing up for Live TV requires a U.S.-issued payment method, and that Live TV cannot be streamed in U.S. territories, on U.S. military bases or internationally. The service is limited to the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., and local channels depend on your ZIP code, with regional restrictions and blackouts possible.

This is a merchant rule set by Hulu, not by Coinepay. Because the card must be U.S.-issued to pass Hulu's checks, you should confirm your card meets that requirement before you try to subscribe. Contact Coinepay support to check whether your Coinepay virtual card satisfies Hulu's U.S.-issued requirement before you buy. Do not use a fake address or try to work around Hulu's region or payment checks — use your real identity and real billing details, as Hulu's terms require.

What you need

  • A completed Coinepay account. You must register and finish identity verification (KYC) before you can use card services. If you have not signed up yet, you can create a Coinepay account and manage everything from the dashboard or the Coinepay app on iOS and Google Play.
  • A Coinepay virtual card issued and funded in your dashboard. Your card number, expiry date and CVV appear instantly once the card is created.
  • Enough available balance on the card to cover the monthly charge plus any authorization hold Hulu may place at signup.
  • The billing address that matches your card exactly — this is checked at checkout.
  • A U.S. location and the U.S.-issued payment method Hulu requires (see the eligibility check above).

Hulu + Live TV plans and prices

At the time of writing (October 2026), Hulu lists these U.S. monthly prices on its official help pages. Always confirm the current price and what each plan includes on Hulu's official pricing page before you subscribe, as prices and plan names change.

PlanPrice (USD/month)Notes
Hulu + Live TV, Disney+, and ESPN Select$99.99Ad-supported Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN Select; live TV has ads
Hulu Premium + Live TV, Disney+ Premium, and ESPN Select$109.99Ad-free tiers do not remove ads from live programming
Hulu + Live TV Español, Disney+$29.99Spanish-language live TV, ad-supported Hulu and Disney+
Live TV Only$98.99Excludes the Hulu library and Disney+
Live TV Only Español$28.99Excludes the Hulu library and Disney+

A plan listed as "Hulu + Live TV, Disney+ Premium, and ESPN Select" at $94.99/month is available to existing subscribers only and cannot be chosen for new purchases. A limited promotion recently listed the base plan at $49.99 for the first month then $99.99/month, with an end date and eligibility rules — check Hulu's live-tv page to see whether any offer is active when you sign up.

Step-by-step: subscribe and pay

  1. Open a web browser and go to Hulu's sign-up page at Signup.Hulu.com/Plans. New or returning subscribers can no longer sign up and pay through Apple, Google or Amazon, so use the browser flow.
  2. Select the Hulu + Live TV plan you want from the plans shown.
  3. Enter your account details (email and password) and personal details.
  4. Choose a payment option, then enter your billing information: your Coinepay card number, expiry date, CVV and the billing address that matches your card.
  5. Review the plan, price and billing terms. Hulu's agreement allows a payment-method authorization hold at signup, and charges then recur for the disclosed billing period. Plan changes or add-ons may create prorated charges.
  6. Select Submit to complete the subscription.
  7. If an eligible free trial applies to the base plan or a select add-on, Hulu still collects payment details upfront and charges you after the trial unless you cancel first.

If you are adding Live TV to an existing Hulu account, or want to update the card on file later, Hulu-billed subscribers can go to Account → Payment Information → Update Payment → Save Changes in a browser. The Payment Information section also shows who bills you; if a third party bills your subscription, you may need to manage payment with that party instead.

Troubleshooting: common card-declined causes

Hulu's own terms name expired payment methods and insufficient funds as reasons a charge can fail, and a failed authorization may trigger a retry, suspension or termination. Some shoppers have reported a checkout message saying their card information had an error and directing them to contact their bank. Work through these checks:

Insufficient balance

Make sure your Coinepay card has enough to cover the full monthly price plus any authorization hold. Top up in the Coinepay dashboard or app, then retry. Remember the higher-tier plans cost up to $109.99/month.

Billing address mismatch

The billing address you type at Hulu checkout must match the address on your Coinepay card record. A mismatched ZIP code or street is a frequent decline cause. Check the exact details in your Coinepay app and re-enter them.

3-D Secure / bank verification

If a verification step appears, approve it through the Coinepay app or follow the prompt. If checkout tells you to contact your bank, the authorization was declined on the issuer side — open the Coinepay app to check for a declined-transaction notice and confirm the card is active.

Merchant region and U.S.-issued card checks

Hulu requires a U.S.-issued payment method and a U.S. location for Live TV. If checkout rejects the card on these grounds, the card does not meet Hulu's requirement — do not try to disguise your location or details. Instead, ask Coinepay support whether your card can satisfy Hulu's U.S.-issued requirement.

Expired card or wrong CVV

Confirm the card number, expiry date and CVV shown in your Coinepay dashboard, and re-enter them carefully. If a card has expired, issue or use a current one.

Generic checkout errors

Some users have reported messages like "Oops, something went wrong. Please contact Viewer Experience at help.hulu.com" when changing a plan. These are usually on Hulu's side — wait and retry, or contact Hulu Viewer Experience. For anything related to your card balance, holds or declines, Coinepay support can help.

Managing and cancelling

Hulu-billed users cancel in a browser under Account → Your Subscription → Cancel → Continue to Cancel → Cancel Subscription. Paid access generally lasts through the current billing cycle, but a cancelled Hulu + Live TV free trial ends immediately. To avoid the next term's charge, cancel before 11:59 p.m. Eastern on the day before your subscription term ends. Except where law requires otherwise, partially used periods are not refunded, though Hulu may grant a credit case by case. You can watch your Coinepay charges and card activity any time in the 24/7 dashboard or app.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card to pay for Hulu + Live TV?

You can enter a Coinepay card at Hulu checkout, but Hulu requires a U.S.-issued payment method and a U.S. location for Live TV. Contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets Hulu's U.S.-issued requirement before you subscribe.

How much does Hulu + Live TV cost?

At the time of writing (October 2026), U.S. prices range from $28.99/month for Live TV Only Español up to $109.99/month for the Premium bundle, with the main bundle at $99.99/month. Check Hulu's official pricing page for current prices, as they change.

Why was my card declined at Hulu checkout?

Common causes are insufficient balance, an expired card or wrong CVV, a billing address that does not match your card, a 3-D Secure step that was not completed, or Hulu's U.S.-issued card and region checks. Verify each in your Coinepay app and retry.

Can I sign up for Hulu + Live TV through Apple, Google or Amazon?

No. Hulu says new or returning subscribers can no longer sign up and pay through Apple, Google or Amazon. Use the browser sign-up at Signup.Hulu.com/Plans instead. Existing subscribers billed by those parties are unaffected.

How do I cancel Hulu + Live TV to stop being charged?

Hulu-billed users cancel in a browser under Account → Your Subscription → Cancel → Continue to Cancel → Cancel Subscription. Cancel before 11:59 p.m. Eastern the day before your term ends to avoid the next charge; a cancelled free trial ends immediately.
