ConvertKit now operates as Kit. If you want to pay for a Kit email-marketing subscription with a Coinepay virtual card, you can choose a plan, create your Kit account, and enter your card details when Kit asks for payment. This guide covers Kit’s own subscription fees—not payments your customers make for products you sell through Kit Commerce.
What you need before you start
- A Kit account in your real identity. Kit’s terms require account users to be at least 18. Check Kit’s availability rules for your location; Kit may refuse or suspend use from an unauthorized country or region.
- A Coinepay account ready for card use. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using its virtual card services. Your card number, expiry date, and CVV are available when your virtual card is issued.
- Your genuine billing details. Have the name, address, and other information you actually use for billing ready. Do not enter a made-up address to try to pass a payment check.
- Enough available funds. Allow for the subscription amount and any temporary card verification. Kit says its payment processor makes a temporary $1 verification charge when you add or change the card on file and removes it after seven days.
Card issuance and fund services are provided by Coinepay’s licensed partner financial institutions. Check the Coinepay app or contact Coinepay support if you need information about your card or available balance before subscribing.
Choose the right Kit plan
Kit’s public pricing page lists Free, Creator, and Pro. Some Kit help articles call Pro Creator Pro. Free supports up to 10,000 subscribers; a paid plan may be appropriate if you need features included in Creator or Pro. Review Kit’s official pricing page for the current features, subscriber tier, and amount due before you commit.
At the time of writing (October 2026), Kit listed Creator for up to 1,000 subscribers at $39 billed monthly or $390 billed yearly. Its help center listed Pro/Creator Pro for up to 1,000 subscribers at $79 per month. These are not quotes for every account: paid-plan pricing increases with the number of active, confirmed subscribers, and promotions or billing choices can change the amount. Check Kit’s official pricing page and your checkout summary for today’s price.
The paid-plan sign-up options offer a 14-day trial without a card. That means you can create an account and evaluate the plan before adding your Coinepay card. Confirm the trial’s end date and any amount shown in your account before continuing to a paid subscription.
How to sign up and pay for Kit
- Open Kit’s official pricing page. Select Free to create a free account, or select Creator or Pro to start the offered paid-plan trial. ConvertKit branding in older articles may refer to the same service now called Kit.
- Create your Kit account. Follow the sign-up prompts using your real information and an email address you can access. If you selected a paid plan, review the plan and trial details shown in your account.
- Prepare your Coinepay card. In the Coinepay mobile app or 24/7 self-service dashboard, locate your issued virtual card’s number, expiry date, and CVV. Check that sufficient funds are available for the payment you intend to make.
- Go to Kit’s billing area when payment is required. In Kit, the account holder’s billing settings are under Settings → Account & Billing. Follow the available subscription or payment prompts for your selected plan. If you are completing a checkout, read its billing frequency, total, trial terms, and renewal date before confirming.
- Enter your card and real billing information. Copy the virtual card details carefully. Use billing details that accurately reflect your identity and address. Kit’s Manage billing → Update information area is where the account holder can edit billing-address and invoice details.
- Complete any payment verification and confirm. If checkout requests an authentication step, follow the instructions displayed rather than repeatedly resubmitting the payment. Kit’s terms describe a final Subscribe, Accept, or similar confirmation button. Submit only after checking what you will be charged and when.
- Check the result. Return to Settings → Account & Billing to review your subscription and payment information. If the page does not clearly confirm payment, check the account’s billing status before trying again.
A Kit subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before renewal. Adding a card can also trigger Kit’s temporary $1 verification charge, which is separate from the plan price.
If your Coinepay card is declined
Start with the message or status Kit displays and check whether a charge appears in your Coinepay account. Do not assume a payment succeeded because you clicked the confirmation button. Kit does not publish a universal card-decline message for every cause, so the checks below are diagnostic steps rather than interpretations of a particular error code.
Insufficient available balance or expired details
Kit identifies insufficient funds and expired payment details as reasons a subscription charge can fail. Compare the checkout amount with your available funds, accounting for the possible temporary $1 verification when adding or changing a card. Recheck the expiry date and CVV against the card currently shown in Coinepay. If a payment fails, Kit may retry it and may suspend or cancel service if it cannot collect payment.
Billing-address mismatch
Check for typing errors in the name, street address, postal code, and country you supplied. If your invoice details need correction, the account holder can use Settings → Account & Billing → Manage billing → Update information. Keep all details truthful and consistent; changing an address to a country where you do not live is not an appropriate fix.
3-D Secure or another authentication prompt
If a verification challenge appears, complete the instructions provided during checkout. If it times out or you cannot complete it, check for any card-related instructions in your Coinepay app or dashboard and ask Coinepay support for help with the card. If the challenge finishes but Kit still shows no active payment, contact Kit support with the time of the attempt and the message shown. Do not send your full card number or CVV in a support message.
Merchant region or eligibility checks
Kit may restrict use from an unauthorized country or region. A payment may also require additional review for reasons that are not visible from the checkout screen. Confirm that your Kit account country and genuine billing details are accurate. If you suspect a location or card-eligibility issue, ask Kit about its requirement and contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before you buy. Do not use a VPN, false address, or someone else’s identity to get around a restriction.
If you receive an unclear decline, note the time and amount, then contact the appropriate support team: Kit for your subscription or checkout status, and Coinepay for your card or funds. Avoid repeated attempts until you know whether an earlier attempt was charged.
Manage, downgrade, or cancel your subscription
Use Settings → Account & Billing to review Kit billing options. Kit says moving above a paid subscriber tier happens automatically as your active, confirmed subscriber count grows. Moving down requires selecting an eligible lower tier in billing settings, so check your subscriber count and next bill rather than assuming the price will fall on its own.
You can switch to Free from Kit’s billing settings. If you do so during a paid billing period, paid features remain available until that period ends; switching during a trial ends access to paid features immediately. Cancel or change your subscription before renewal if you do not want another paid period.
For refunds, Kit’s help center says customers who cancel may request a full refund of payments made in the preceding 30 days, including annual payments; older payments are not refunded or prorated. Kit’s terms separately say cancellation before a subscription period ends does not refund fees already paid. Because those statements differ, request any refund directly from Kit and wait for its decision rather than assuming cancellation triggers an automatic refund.
Do not confuse a Kit subscription with a Kit Commerce purchase
This guide is for paying Kit’s own plan fees. A digital product sold by a creator through Kit Commerce has a separate customer checkout. Kit lists several payment options for one-time digital products, but says recurring products and Tips use credit card only. Those Commerce payment-method descriptions do not establish which cards Kit accepts for its own subscription fees. If you are buying a creator’s product instead, follow that product’s checkout and ask the creator or Kit about a purchase-specific payment problem.
